Don't bother with Sainsbury's Chop Chop!!!

If there was zero, this is what the service deserves. Sadly, I didn't read the reviews before giving the Sainsbury's Chop Chop service a go . . . order went through OK, then got stuck on 'order accepted' with payment showing as 'pending' in my banking app. After an hour, called to ask what was happening - it seems you need to phone AS WELL as using the app, to make sure the store knows you've asked for an order!!! Assured it would arrive in 30 minutes, app showed it as 'being picked'. 5 minutes later, got an email 'your personal shopper has cancelled the order'!! At least the pending payment has gone from my banking app . . . Sainsbury's ought to stop this service as their normal online delivery is good in my experience and this is damaging their reputation.

Nightmare

Nightmare. Don't use this service. After waiting an hour and forty five minutes for the order to be picked up without an update (they say it will be delivered within 60 mins) I cancelled the order on the 11 May 26, and after several calls being promised this money is being processed for refund I still don't have it on the 27th may. Launched a dispute on Barclays app but good luck getting through to someone within sainsburys who will help. Total scammers and should be taken to court. Seems like others have had the same experience from similar reviews.

A complete joke, substitution Scam

A complete joke. Used for first time today and will DEFINITELY NOT be using again.
Placed an order, all well and good, got an email to say they had my order, then got a second message to say my order was on its way, again all well and good.
When the order was delivered they had substituted an item which I did not want the substitution, so I called Customer Service and they told me They would not refund as they had sent me an email and as I had not responded then I would have to accept the substitution.The 2 mails I have had at 12.00 and 12.33 the mail they claim to have sent was 12.13. Funny how the other 2 arrived but not the middle one.
I asked to speak to a manager and was promised a call back but NO CALL received much like the email I did not receive either.
I am now going to contact the bank to cancel the whole transaction so they get paid for nothing as opposed to just the non wanted substitution.
Bunch of Scammers….Tesco next time….

I’m extremely upset and disappointed…

I’m extremely upset and disappointed with chop chop sainsburys
Second time using them
First time got a text saying cancelled had to spend time calling customer services to find it wasn’t cancelled
Second time was this Monday … also got a text saying cancelled but ignored it and then it said on App delivered ! It hadn’t been delivered , called customer services to find, passed to store , store cannot confirm who had picked the items even though it was 30 minutes prior, couldn’t confirm if it was handed to a driver , couldn’t confirm anything other than they could see that it hadn’t been signed for at my end, told to call Chop Chop for refund as they cannot reinstate me or refund me from store, called Chop Chop, informed someone would be in touch with refund but no one has been in touch, no refund , no groceries and out of pocket ! I’m disgusted really as imagine that was an elderly person with no more money left in their bank and no food in their cupboards to feed them and can’t get out due to health concerns, they’d have to starve , it’s unethical ! Contact me Chop Chop I want my money back ! Fuming - 0 stars from me

Nice in principle but not in practice

Nice in principle, but how I wish I'd read the reviews.

Decided to get a 60min lunchtime delivery to a family member who was dealing with a bereavement. Order went through fine, went to picking my order....then nothing. No delivery and no update. Sainsbury's live online want you to talk to their Chop Chop partners...who don't want to talk to me because I'm not the name on the delivery. Rang their helpline four times in total. First time they said they were waiting for it to be picked up, once they said they couldn't hear me, and the other two times they were unable to advise.

Eight hours later and I've given up hope. There's not even an option to cancel my order so I'm just going to let it run it's course and hope that my grieving family don't get rudely awakened in the middle of the night with stale groceries.

Shocking service -Order cancelled because they didn’t…

Order cancelled because they didn’t have a driver. Still waiting for my refund five days later. No food and no money to purchase from elsewhere. This order was for my 83 year old mum as she is house bound. Very poor service and won’t be using them again. If they can’t find a driver they shouldn’t take your money until it’s out for delivery. Very, very angry and had to ring three different numbers to make a complaint and still haven’t had a reply. This service should be removed from the Sainsburys app

Doesn't allow payment

Doesn't allow payment. Just sits there saying processing payment.

When I click on the pay button again I get a message saying payment failed & to check details but where are the details?

Shocking took my money

Shocking took my money. Were meant to deliver to my 90 year old mum when someone was there to help her. Offered me free delivery next time LOL. Won't refund for 2 days. Wasted time to customer service who couldn't contact the store and suggested I did. They should delete the App.

Sainsburys chopchop

complaint – unacceptable service
Sainsbury’s Chop Chop is a complete failure of a service.
Order placed early Saturday. Cancelled 1.5 hours later with no explanation. No contact, no reason given — I had to call to find out what happened.
Five days later I still haven’t been refunded. Taking payment instantly, cancelling orders, and holding onto customers’ money is unacceptable.
This isn’t a one-off — it’s repeated poor service, poor communication, and zero accountability. I will not use Chop Chop again, and this experience has put me off Sainsbury’s entirely.

Fix the refund. Fix the service. Do better.

Stick to Tesco Whoosh

Just before the hour was up we received a text saying the order had been cancelled because the driver was unable to complete delivery. I had to phone three different numbers before I could speak to someone including one number that never got picked up. From her tone it was obvious that this happens all the time. All she would say was the text was for Sainsbury’s not for me, so why was it sent to me? Eventually it did arrive ten minutes late (which seems pretty good based on other reviews). To add insult to injury the code Sainsburys gave me to get free delivery didn’t work.

Massive disappointment

Waited an hour and the order was not even picked. I called customer service and they told me they have no access to call the store and told me to call another 3rd party. This is supposed to be a 60minute order? When I expressed my disappointment with this service the call centre person just said nothing. I will not be using chop chop again. Massively disappointed.

If I could give this app minus stars I…

If I could give this app minus stars I would! Order didn't turn up. Received a text to say they rang the doorbell and no answer (they didn't). To cut a long and unbelievable story short after 5 phone calls trying to get a refund, they finally refunded 'part' of my money back to my credit card minus the delivery charge. Another phone call to get the delivery charge back and told you'll have to wait another 5 days (this is after they asked me would I like it in vouchers or a gift card!! As if I'd use them again!) So let's see if that happens. If it does that'll be 18 days and 5 phone calls to get my money back and no food at the end of it! I wonder who is receiving all this food that never gets delivered...mmm I'll take one guess! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

Absolutely disgusted by what has just…

Absolutely disgusted by what has just happened. My mother, who is nearly 90 years old, ran out of some supplies when unfortunately I was on holiday and all other family live away. My brother, who normally does an online order with Sainsbury’s every week, decided to try chop chop and get her the supplies she needed. Everything seemed to be going smoothly when I received a text from him advising me that they had refused to give mam the groceries and the order was cancelled, I couldn’t believe it I thought mam must have got it wrong, so he ordered them again, this time when the order was going to be delivered he talked with mam on the phone and when the driver came mam gave him the phone and he spoke to the driver, even though he told them the circumstances the driver told him that because he wasn’t there he couldn’t deliver the items and took the items back. This has now left my mam very upset and confused by what has happened and without the items she needed, surely the drivers can use their common sense, he could obviously see she was an elderly lady and especially as my brother actually spoke to him, why was this order not delivered.

A complete let down when I needed it most

My mother is elderly and is starting to get confused easily, we arrange a regular weekly delivery from Sainsbury’s every week for her and she loves this service. Today none of the family was nearby when she said she’d ran out of milk. The perfect chance to try Sainsbury’s Chop Chop I thought. The first order I placed was quickly cancelled after it was out for delivery, I phoned my mother and she was totally confused said someone arrived but wouldn’t give her the order. I placed the order again and this time when it was out for delivery I talked to her on the phone so I was on the line when they arrived. She passed the phone to the driver and she insisted she could only deliver to me as I placed the order. The complaints line confirmed I was right and the delivery person could deliver to anyone over 18 (she’s 90!) but after two failed attempts I’m not using them again unless they give me some reassurances. Unfortunately this has left my mam confused and without milk she doesn’t understand that these drivers don’t work for Sainsbury’s and is upset that she experienced this particularly when the drivers of the regular service have been good to her

First time ordering from Sainsbury's…

First time ordering from Sainsbury's Chop Chop. I used the app, placed the order. Half an hour later I get a notification that the order had been cancelled. I then get an email 5 minutes later stating it had been delivered.
I contacted Sainsbury's who stated the driver had reported I was unavailable and was taking the order back to the store. This was not the case. I did not have a missed call, they did not knock on the door. There was no attempt made to make contact with me.
I then had to push for further investigation. The person on the phone contacted the store and in actual fact the order did not get picked up in the first place.
I now have to wait 3-5 days for a refund.
Do Not Use this service!!!!

What a dreadful experience

What a dreadful experience. First time I have used Sainsbury’s chop chop and I won’t be supporting their store or app any longer. I ordered on the app and had part of my order delivered. However, I was still charged for missing items costing £178. I contacted customer help who wanted to speak with the store themselves (did not take my word for the missing items). Eventually got back to me to say the store acknowledged this was their error. I now have to wait for 3-5 days for a £178 refund. There was no offer to send the driver back out with the missing items. I will now need to order from elsewhere. Sainsbury’s - shame on you. You make an error, don’t correct it and leave me out of pocket for days. Very disappointed indeed. Don’t use.

Total Shambles

This was so bad it’s actually laughable, order accepted and 50 minutes later the drives texts to say he’d at the store but they have no order for me despite it being confirmed and a driver despatched.
Called customer service who put me on hold for ten minutes to say the store is looking for a driver! Add to the mix I couldn’t understand what the call handler was saying. First and last time I’ll use them.
