When my German Shepherd died....

When my dog passed away and we were purchasing her food for over 10 years, I called and the person I spoke with had no compassion. They required me to drag that 43lb bag of dog food to the UPS store to get my credit. I was just on nextdoor in my area and a lady wrote when her kitty died they gave her a FULL credit and did not require her to return the food, sent her a sympathy card also. WOW. I was a customer for 10 years when my German Shepherd died. Terrible customer service.

I have been buying my pet products for years with Amazon.
I started buying again with Chewy.com. Their customer service is excellent. It’s so nice to communicate with someone who speaks and understands the English language, and it’s not overseas.

My complaint is that this my friend…

My complaint is that my friend which is an 80 year old woman who uses a walker to get around has asked them several times to pack 2 smaller boxes when she makes her $50 order which then makes the shipping free. Also that the two boxes be put on the porch or at least inside of her fence. They have yet to do either one of those things. I just went by to see how she was doing and had to roll and slide a package that was more than 40 lb up the steps and into her house. Then she tells me if she had split her orders up they would have given her two boxes but they would have charged her twice for shipping instead of the free shipping she gets when she has one order of $50. If I wouldn't have gone by there it would still be sitting outside. She would have to take her walker out and take a knife with her and open the box, drag in a 16 lb bag of dog food which she can't lift anyway then go back down the stairs and take one case of canned dog food in, then go back down the stairs again and grab another case to take into the house. It's insane how many times she has called them and asked them to correct this only to be told each time "no problem we will take care of this don't you worry!" It's unbelievable! Not to mention that it's been more than a few years that this has been going on. I know nothing's going to be done it will never be corrected but I just want people to have a heads up what they're getting into if they're trying to spend $50 with these people and get the free shipping it's going to be in one big unmanageable box, which by the way, you have to open it up to actually use the handles cuz they're conveniently located on the handles on the inside of the box! Crazy!

Always had problems, they’ve since gotten worse.

Used to have no issues at the very, very beginning. As time went on things got worse. At my old place they’d deliver my dogs food bags to the bottom of my apartment stairs (I lived on the third floor) so I stopped ordering her food through them. By the by I’m disabled so this is endlessly infuriating if I wanted to bring dog food up a flight of stairs and hurt my back more I’d go to the store and not waste my time ordering online. Recently (in my new apartment which is ground floor) they keep delivering my dogs meds to a locker and saying it’s my address. While this complex does have lockers it’s not something I pay for because it’s a scam, so I can’t get my package. It’s also incredibly infuriating and I can’t imagine being worse off then I am physically and having to walk to a completely separate location all because their drivers are to incompetent or lazy to deliver this package. It’s EVERY single time to. I cancelled my auto ship and will be deleting my account. I tried talking to them and they assumed I lived in a locker… really? If you are AT all disabled don’t order from here. It’s ableist af. You’d be better off ordering from DoorDash, at least there’s a higher chance they ACTUALLY deliver it to your door. Their guest services are also TERRIBLE genuinely the worse most useless experience I have ever had.

Trying this company for the first time = HORRIBLE!!

Trying this company for the first time, ordered a couple of personalized collars, calm treats for my dogs for fireworks. Go to check out and there is no choice in the drop down for Alaska. So I call the "award winning customer service". The man politely tells me they don't ship to Alaska or Hawaii. I say, but we are part of the United States. He says I know I am sorry. YES THEY ARE!! How horrible that you do not serve all of us in this country!

Terrible experience with this company

Terrible experience with this company. They won't tell you when something will be delivered until you complete the checkout process. My most recent order, cost over $50. It never came. So they kept my money and I never got the product. Every time I ask customer service for help, they just tell me it's going to come the next day. But there's a link on my order status for the delivery, which is a link to USPS. USPS shows that an label was created and then canceled. But the people at chewy will not listen to me about that so I'm just out the money. I will never order from them again.

Honestly pretty frustrated with chewys…

Honestly pretty frustrated with chewys auto ship . Twice now my order has shipped way earlier than scheduled, charging my card when I was not expecti It. Then when I tried to adjust delivery date through the app it glitched and wouldn’t save my changes . Had to call customer service and wait 20 minutes just to push back a shipment

Won't send correct order we are facing snowstorm

I was in the auto ship program for dogfood and treats. They sent my order which was wrong product and would not overnight a bag of my dogs food overnight since they made a mistake . We are in Ga and facing closed roads due to expected ice and snow. Now we dont have our dogfood and they don't care. They refused to expedite it. So I am back to Amazon.

BE careful what items you combine in the same order

I have ordered my dogs food and some meds many times and always got the right products within 3 days or less. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the way products are packaged to ship. I get 1 big box with the items randomly tossed in. I understand keeping costs down and most items wouldnt matter. But twice I have received items in plastic containers that were broken open or crushed. If fragile items cannot be shipped separately how putting them in a small box inside the big box or maybe some peanuts to keep things from crashing around. My delivery driver has, just in passing, mentioned that the boxes are never properly marked as heavy or super heavy but has learned to expect that they are.

Outstanding Company - order frequently

I order monthly with autoship and have been a long time customer. They have the best customer service I have ever experienced. You can reach someone almost anytime through the app by chat or email. Any issue gets resolved quickly and in the easiest way possible, within minutes. They stand by their products and make you feel like they truly value you as a customer. Very impressed with this company.

Autoship is a scam

Autoship is a scam. I changed mine to the 31st. I live 1 1/2 hrs from Chewy. I get it the next day....1st of the month.
Chew decided to bill it and ship it 4 days early.
Total SCAM, GREED, CORPORATE DISHONESTY.

Bad customer service

After using Chewy for several years, I had a bad experience with Chewy customer service. The agent was unhelpful and extremely unprofessional. He stated, "like I said 5 times, I can't help you." I'll switch to PetSmart for my future purchases.

Chewy customer service & management 5 stars!

I am a subscription customer with Chewy and mostly haven't had any issues. This past few months, I've had two, and the issue with both shipments looked like it had arisen in the packing and shipping departments.

I opened a chat on the website and the rep. was very empathetic, helpful, and generous (yeah a refund), but also helped to connect me with management. I uploaded photos of the shipment issue and the person I was chatting with seemed genuinely interested in the feedback, even waiting for me to go back to the porch to get a few more photos.

Worst company to order from

Worst company to order from. Sent me three pellets I ordered all with expiry date close to few days. I ordered 2 and they said the third one is for free but that one was also expired. I had sent my first 2 orders back and I asked the rep would you like the third back. She said no you can keep it. I threw it out because it was expired. now to get my refund back they want all 3 back. Joke of a company. deliver expired food and worst customer service. please stay away.

Chewy is the best!

Due to upcoming weather issues, I changed the auto ship date. I made the change Thurs. a.m., and the food was delivered Fri. a.m. I don't know of another company who delivers this quickly with a last minute change. Occasionally Amazon who promises next day delivery, does so, but more often then not it is second day delivery. I have been a Chewy customer for many years, with a slight time gap, due to my fur baby's passing, and I have never been disappointed. Their prices are on spot, and their service reps. are always more than helpful.

Poorly trained reps

It was nice that a human answered the phone, but I had to go through a 15 minute conversation, listening to the very friendly rep dropping such helpful nuggets as "I can't understand it, it should work, that's weird" before my patience started to wear, at which point I spent another 5 minutes waiting for a supervisor, who gave me a very simple explanation to my very simple problem that any employee with the smallest amount of training should have been able to deliver.

An amazing company

An amazing company! We have always had great service from their staff. But most impressive was their kindness and consideration when our dog died recently. We had a shipment already ordered but they went to great lengths to try to cancel and reimburse us. Most corporations now value profit over people but Chewy obviously has a different corporate culture.
