Lousy Service!
I believe it’s referred to as “theft” when you’re extorted into paying for services you didn’t receive. I hired Cheryl Miller-Kelley to list my property for sale. She took my $1.3 million listing but left town on vacation. I ended up doing everything that a listing agent should do including hiring and paying for a real estate photographer, writing up my own marketing material, showing my property to potential buyers, negotiating the sale, reviewing and signing all legal contracts etc. By the time Cheryl returned from her vacation the deal was complete. I fully anticipated that she would be apologetic for being unavailable and reduce her commission for providing virtually no service under our listing contract. However, she was very defiant with a sense of entitlement reminding me that I was trapped in a signed contract. So I paid her full commission, but will never use her or her worthless brokerage. Do yourself a favor and hire someone who’s not so focused on commission and instead is focused on client service first.
