Needs significant design improvement to be fit for purpose. As with Cheeky products the quality is great. Stitching is secure, material is nice to the touch, and there are regular sales so these are affordable even when preparing for the limited income of maternity leave coupled with the big expenditures of a new life and all its accoutrement. Unfortunately, however, you may find yourself completely unable to use these for the purpose you bought them. For some reason these have been designed as regular nickers with the support panel sewn on top. This means there is a thick seam that sits exactly across where a c-section scar goes, and /that/ means that if you end up with an emergency c-section, you will not be allowed to put these on until long after your postpartum bleeding has stopped. The upper band is tight enough they're also difficult to get on when you are struggling to bend over. I was really disappointed as I bought four pairs of these to use during my postpartum bleeding and couldn't use them at all after my planned natural birth had to change to an emergency c-section, and because of the nature of the absorbent panel underneath, I wasn't able to wear them after my scar healed even as regular shapewear; they were too thick to feel like I had enough air circulation. Comfortable when you're bleeding and want protection, but too much when you aren't. If I could have it my way, I would remove the horizontal seam entirely so that these are safe for post-caesarean wear as well as natural births, and I would also adjust the top of the upper panel to have some sort of closure--hook and eye or snaps, so that you can have the support/compression without having to strain to pull over your hips at a time when you either aren't supposed to bend over or aren't comfortable crouching. Personally, I also wish the legholes would be cut further forward; as with every pair of period pants I've tried on, Cheeky and other brands, I always find the front of the leg cuffs cut into my groin while the backs ride up my cheeks. Definitely would be more comfortable for me if they were say half an inch further forward.
