CharlieHR has been a simple, efficient and user-friendly platform for us as a small organisation. It does exactly what we need it to do and helps us manage our HR processes in a clear and streamlined way. The HR advice service has also been a real benefit. The support we receive from Alisa is always fast, reliable and incredibly helpful, which gives us confidence when navigating HR queries and situations. One of the features I particularly value is the advice library, which includes a wide range of practical templates and resources that save time and provide helpful guidance. The marketplace is also a great addition.

As an early stage start up without a dedicated internal HR function we have found CharlieHR invaluable for on-demand advice. It has been a pleasure working with Bethan who has got to know our business so we get brilliant continuity of service which has always been available when we have needed support. Easily one of my favourite suppliers/partners who give us that most valuable commodity - peace of mind!

The initial set up was quick and efficient and led by experienced, supportive team members. The Company Handbook was completed exactly as we needed it to be and is a fantastic digital resource that is easily accessible to our team.
The system is easy to use, with minimal instruction for new starters.
Charliehr has a multitude of other offerings from reporting, structured review cycle scheduling, a letter template library and other service upgrades to suit your business requirements.
The real asset for our business is the HR Advisory Service, delivering a balanced perspective, commonsense checks, current best practise and valuable advice when it is needed.
The service is consistently responsive, particularly when there are time sensitivities, and it has been instrumental in supporting our SME in gaining the best possible respectful outcomes for all parties, whatever the HR conversation may be at that time.

I have been a customer for 4 years now and I love this service, especially of Bethan our HR advisor.

While the platform is great and much a muchness of the marketplace - what separates Charlie from the competitors is this 121 advice service. Bethan knows our business and is able to help us on everything and share templates etc... she gets back to us fast and I feel like she is one of the team.

Lost two hours of work when completing a review. Sudden 404 error when trying to share the responses - and everything I had written was gone.

It says it is saving your work, but in reality it isn't - which their customer service agents told me was therefore unrecoverable.

I would suggest a different system, or if you have to use CharlieHR, then do all your work in a different program then copy it across (which is a pain and shouldn't be necessary).

Excellent Service! We are a young mortgage brokerage with a small team and CharlieHR have been fantastic. We use their system for staff which works very well and has some really useful features.

We have recently started using their HR advice add-on and it is difficult to put into words how much help that is to a company like us. From assistance with contracts to managing staff well, and even creating our company handbook.

I would certainly recommend CharlieHR to other business owners with smaller teams that want a reliable platform and HR guidance to scale.

Been working with CharlieHR for a couple of years now and can truly say that they are amazing!

Very easy to use and feature-rich.
CharlieHR made the visibility of my colleagues and their annual leave easy. I could also know about upcoming hires easily. Perks at work is also awesome! It really helps to have the discounts in the cinema.

Fantastic product, easy to use and has everything needed for a growing company

A simple to use system but quite a few flaws

I use Charlie HR with a number of my clients and while it is a viable option be aware of a number of flaws in the system;
1. As a multiple user I have to use different browsers to access different clients accounts. Promised a partner programme but has yet to materialise
2. Billing - only one billing contact field available. We use Dext so have used that as ensures the invoice gets processed automatically into our accounting system. No function to have a further contact email address for correspondence
3. We had a payment fail and access was cut-off 2 days later. No warning that card payment had failed and because of point 2 above, can't receive emails to resubcribe or be warned of card payment failure.
4. No option to pay by direct debit which exasperates the problem when card payments fail when this is the only option.
5. Appraisal system is inflexible and if time limits pass and haven't been completed then doesn't allow amendment or rescheduling.
6. Perks - used to be good but have seen the quality of the options reduce significantly.

Have been using CharlieHR for about 5 years now. As a small business it has a number of invaluable tools at no cost! It has been extremely helpful for us to manage holidays, hold employee data, put up company handbooks and more. The free corporate perks are great and we know that they will be able to support us more as we grow. A very easy admin portal makes life easy too! Well done Charlie.

For our small startup, CharlieHR has been incredible - everything is simple, from booking holiday, to quickly checking your colleague's contact details when you need to get in touch. Plus they have one of the best email newsletters I've ever come across (if you like emojis and puns 😆)

I would highly recommend it to any startup wanting to take the hassle out of HR.
