Lost refund

I chose this firm because of its excellent online reviews and reputation, and I genuinely hoped I would receive the same level of service that so many others described. Unfortunately, my experience was very different.

My initial consultation was conducted over the phone, and I was assured that I could call or email anytime if I had questions. As someone facing bankruptcy for the first time, that reassurance meant a great deal to me. This is not a simple or routine decision—it's one that comes with stress, uncertainty, and a lot of questions.

After retaining the firm and submitting all of my requested documents, communication became increasingly difficult. I sent multiple emails and made several phone calls seeking updates and clarification about the process. Most of my attempts to communicate went unanswered. The only email I received simply confirmed that my documents had been received and did not address any of the questions or concerns I had raised.

What troubled me most was that I never had the opportunity to meet or speak with the attorney who was supposed to represent me. I was given the attorney's name, but I was never offered a consultation, appointment, or meaningful discussion about my case. At no point did I feel that the process was clearly explained or that I understood what was happening behind the scenes. Instead of feeling supported and informed, I was left feeling confused and uncertain.

As the days passed with little communication, my confidence in the process began to diminish. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to terminate representation. When I visited the office to request a refund, the experience left me feeling that my concerns were not being taken seriously. I was not provided with a receipt for my payment, nor was I given any written documentation confirming my refund request. At the time of this review, the refund process remains unresolved.

I understand that law firms are busy and that legal matters take time. However, communication, transparency, and client support are essential—especially when clients are facing major financial and personal challenges. People seeking bankruptcy assistance are often under tremendous stress and are placing a significant amount of trust in the professionals they hire. A simple phone call, email response, or explanation can make a meaningful difference.

My experience may not reflect everyone else's, but it is an honest account of my own. I encourage prospective clients to ask detailed questions about communication expectations, who will actually be handling their case, how often updates are provided, and what the firm's refund policies are before signing any agreement.

I sincerely hope my concerns are addressed and that the refund matter is resolved promptly. If that happens, I will gladly update this review to reflect the outcome.

Helped me out in a time when I really…

Helped me out in a time when I really need a Fresh Start. The bankruptcy attorneys and staff worked with me every step of the way. My attorney was Alison Briggs and she was great. My bankruptcy trustee was super annoying as was the judge but Alison held her own. If you are looking to get your bankruptcy done right, contact these people.
