Title: Sold as raw hair, but rough, badly tangling and disappointing for the price

I received my first order from Chandra Hair on 18 June: two loose-curly bundles and a closure. The hair was advertised as raw, and the seller told me the curls were steam processed. However, the quality made me seriously question those claims.
Although the hair looked nice initially, it felt extremely coarse, rough and damaged. It tangled badly and felt itchy against the back of my neck. The problems became much more apparent once I started wearing it and gave it its first wash.
When wetting the hair, I noticed that water initially sat on the surface rather than soaking in straight away. I also tried the blade test I use to compare hair samples and got no residue, unlike with other hair I own. These observations made me question the condition of the cuticles, although I cannot confirm how the hair was processed. The bundles and closure also had a very uniform curl pattern. Based on the feel, appearance and behaviour of this hair, I strongly suspect processing beyond what was described. The seller is based in Canada but the hair gets shipped out from some factory based in a shopping mall in India , meaning the seller never gets to see the shipped out hair. Even though he claims it’s raw. He proposes to send a video but you can never tell the coarseness or quality by watching a video.

What disappointed me just as much was the response when I raised my concerns on WhatsApp. The seller was initially pleasant, but became rude and dismissive, calling me inexperienced and suggesting that I did not know how to deal with the hair. I have been in the hair business since 2007 and have sold hair myself. Having my experience dismissed instead of my concerns being properly addressed was frustrating. He also brought up being a millionaire, which had nothing to do with the quality of the hair I received.
To be fair, he did offer a refund. However, I had already made the hair into a wig by the time I fully realised the problems, and I did not return it or receive a refund.
For the price, I expected much better quality and customer service. I cannot recommend this purchase based on my experience. I would urge anyone considering it to question the raw hair claims carefully and not assume that attractive photos mean the hair will feel good or remain manageable after washing and wearing.
