I paid for a lifetime VPN subscription and they randomly decided to cancel my account and ask me to pay a monthly rate instead. Why pay a ton of money for a lifetime VPN if they wont even honor it? Dishonest business, I will never use them again.

It is an absolute scam in my opinion to sell lifetime accounts and then terminate them without any reason.
Been a member for probably 1.5 years paying $2 something monthly which was the best deal I could find without forking out $40+ up front. Had a few hiccups early on but now I sometimes forget it's on for days at a time, which vs my 1 gigabit internet plan that gets 960 megabits to my PC is good enough for me. So I don't sound like a walking ad, it is tricky to setup and find your credentials if you forget them.
It has been common now for unknown, small and below-par business to attract and stand on shoulders of customers of a "lifetime" offer, afterwards when their bones get stronger in the market they kick them away and cancel lifetime membership asking for membership fees. I bought a lifetime membership in 2016 with Celo VPN. It has worked rather well, even if it is very sophisticated and not very user-friendly. In February 2023, they sent an email stating that the lifetime membership is finally over, and if I like to support them or take advantage of their services, I would have to pay the membership fee. They didn't respond to my message.
