Disappointing Experience with Cars Online Shop – Delivery and Support Failures
Ordering from the Cars online shop turned out to be a frustrating experience. The payment options are extremely limited — only Klarna and Mastercard are accepted. Delivery is handled exclusively via DHL, which poses a problem for customers in Austria, as shipping to Austria is not supported.
To work around this, I had the package sent to my German DHL postbox. Unfortunately, this led to chaos: although the parcel was correctly addressed to my postbox, it was returned to Cars in the Netherlands. The reason given was an incorrect Postident number, despite the fact that I had entered it correctly.
The timeline speaks for itself:
• Package shipped by Cars: September 30, 2025
• Returned to sender: October 20, 2025
• Refund received: October 22, 2025 — only because I could no longer access the postbox in the coming days.
Throughout this ordeal, Cars’ customer support showed little initiative in resolving the DHL delivery issue. Multiple emails went unanswered for days, and I received no meaningful assistance.
This is not what I expect from a reputable online retailer. The website promises a delivery time of 3–5 days — a promise clearly not upheld in my case. Sadly, this experience has led me to take my business elsewhere.
