Lovely raw local honey

Lovely honey, local too. We used to keep bees and produced raw un-heat treated honey, this honey reacts in exactly the same way as ours did to temperature / storage, so given the taste, consistency and the way it stores I'm confident it is a genuine raw local honey that is not heat treated in any way. It is so difficult to tell exactly what you are buying with honey as so much of it is adulterated in some way. Worth every penny when you find a good supplier, keeping bees and producing honey is very time consuming.

Very disappointing, all round.

Slow delivery. Although the site does say to allow up to 5 working days for despatch, 9 days from ordering to receipt is a bit much.
And then, sadly, both jars of honey went in the bin after a much anticipated wait. The strawberry one was rock solid and unpleasant flavour-wise, and the vanilla one was runny but only two-thirds full. Also, the vanilla and honey were totally separated, with all the vanilla on one side, and honey on the other. Took a bit of mixing to try to blend it, but not worth the effort as, again, unpleasant flavour.
Packaging was very inadequate - I was surprised the jars weren’t smashed.
All in all, a very disappointing and expensive experience when I was so excited to find this company with such good reviews.

Hi Sue,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear you were disappointed with your order.

Your order was placed on the 30th of August and delivered on the 8th of September, which works out at 7 working days. We are a small business with just three team members, and our beekeeper prepares each online order on her own to keep it fresh to ensure the best quality, which is why we ask for up to 5 working days for preparation plus 2–3 days for delivery.

The strawberry honey may have hardened due to the cooler temperatures recently. Honey can naturally firm up if it’s kept somewhere cold, but it will return to a softer consistency once stored at room temperature.

For the vanilla honey, we use real and whole vanilla beans rather than flavouring. As they are heavy, they naturally settle to one side of the jar, but the it’s thoroughly mixed throughout the honey, so there’s no need to remix it.

As for the packaging, each jar is protected with three layers (cardboard, bubble wrap, and a padded envelope) to ensure safe delivery, so we’re confident it is secure.

On pricing, we’ve kept our honey at the same price for the past three years, despite rising costs of jars and other expenses. We only use local honey and real ingredients in our infusions, rather than artificial flavourings. While honey is never the cheapest product, we believe our range is competitively priced for the quality and care that goes into each jar.

Regards
The CarnieBees Team

Buzz buzz Delicious.

I first tried this at Portsoy Boat festival buying the Raspberry Honey. It was so tasty and delicious on toast that I ended up buying a few others. The charcoal Honey is so deceiving but wow I think that could be my fav and having Black toast looks that bit different. The lemon & Ginger has such a kick to it but so good when you’re not feeling well and need a boost. Highly recommend these beauties. Very delicious and great in tea and wheatabix to kick start your morning.

Carnie Bees Honey is amazing!!

We brought Carnie Bees honey at a car show in Lauder this year, what made it extra special was we got to taste all the different Honeys to see which one we liked the best before we made a purchase. It all got eaten very quickly so went on line to order more which was absolutely hassle free and the Honey arrived very quickly. I would definitely recommend this company not just because they are super efficient but the Honey is one of the best we have tasted.
