Outstanding customer service

Outstanding customer service! I ran out of kerosene on a Wednesday evening and ordered a top up online. There were issues with the payment going through so I phoned first thing the next day. The girl I spoke to was so friendly & helpfull. Oil was delivered later that day. Thank you so much!

Fast and Weird

I've been a customer for many years but I do go elsewhere if I can get a better price, nobody delivers faster. The strange thing about this company is that they quote you a price online but when you call to place an order they add another 6 or 7p a litre without telling you, thats £35-40 on a 500L. When you make a complaint they usually back down and say it was only for online orders or some such nonsense. I imagine they manage to cheat a fair number of customers this way and I don't think that fits well with the "family business" adverts they have on tv. Still cheaper than certas though.

Good morning Mr Gillan, thanks for your review. If i could just pick up on your point regarding the difference between our online & office prices - the online prices give you a variety of options of delivery windows which will be cheaper as they allow us to deliver to you at our convenience, when we have other orders in the same area which obviously reduces our cost which we can then pass on to our customers. There is also a reduction in cost for admin with online orders as the customer in effect processes their own order. However, there should not be as much as 6 or 7ppl and I think on this occasion, we have been a little slow in increasing our online prices compared to the office prices. We did ensure that you were able to order at the price quoted online. I am confident that this is not something that happens regularly so to suggest that we 'cheat' our customers in this way feels a little unfair. We are a reputable company who prides itself on our family ethos and we wish all our customers to be treated the way we would like to be treated with the personal touch.

Once five stars but sadly no more

This would have been five stars if posted several months ago as, customer service and delivery times have been excellent.

But.... as a customer of a couple of years now paying a direct debit every month you expect to be trusted as a continued customer but sadly Carnegies recent policy changes have made me feel as if they do not trust me to pay my bill. To explain, as all will be aware the cost of living especially fuel has increased dramatically. Carnegies have now insisted that credit terms are no longer allowed and after a couple of years always ensuring that my heating oil was paid every month even during the summer when the heating is not used to ensure I have credit to start the winter. Carnegies allowed accounts to be a little in debit knowing that the summer payments would in fact bring everything back to an even keel and in my case in credit. This has now stopped and people who are really struggling cannot get fuel unless it is fully paid up front. Now this would not be as big a problem if they realised that people can not afford to pay up front for the minimum amount of 500 litres. Surely they must realise this. Rather than their customers going cold all winter due to being frightened to use their heating bringing the minimum amount to 250 litres would be the way forward as this would allow people to budget more easily for the colder months. Sadly it feels as if Carnagies do not trust their customers to continue to ensure that at the end of each year their balance is zero or in credit. It really is a shame as people are struggling and local companies should care about that.

I have chronic arthritis and used to have my heating on all the time at 18 to 19 degrees in the winter as it helps with my painful joints. Just now I am only putting my heating on a couple of hours a day and I am in serious arthritic pain

Simply the best

I have been a customer of Carnegie Fuels for quite a few years now, when i moved into my new house over 13 years ago I initially tried a couple of companies also including an online supplier but the deliveries always caused me grief (missed delivery window, access to my tank) As I now use Carnegie fuels regularly (for many years now) they know how to access my tank for deliveries so can deliver when I am not at home. The hassle free process from ordering to delivery has made me a loyal customer. Long may this all continue and 5 stars is sometimes just not enough.

Fantastic customer service and competitive pricing

Carnegie Fuels regularly supply us with heating oil. They provide a prompt and efficient service. We’ve always had oil delivered within 24 hours of ordering. Cannot fault the service. Previously I chopped and changed my supplier, based on price but I trust that I will get a competitive price with Carnegie Fuels and above standard customer service. I simply wouldn’t use anyone else now.
