Misleading advertising/ poor return policy

The advertising for the product is misleading. They show it sticking to a screen, and easily putting it on a gym mirror. This is wrong. It has a very sticky back. The "lock" feature is not the primary feature that sticks it.

While they offer "easy" returns, it's a lie. While customer service did get back to me in a timely fashion, you have to send it to Estonia! I live in the US. The cost to ship, which I would have to pay, would be more than the cost of the product itself, for a 100% refund.

It's false advertising, and then they say you can keep the product and we'll give you back 25%. It's not an easy return and it's misleading advertising. I'm sure the product would be great for a carmount that doesn't ever move, but then they shouldn't advertise it as something else. I could never take this to a gym and easily move it. I could never put it on the back of a computer screen. I could never use it in the kitchen, unless I never wanted it to be located anywhere else.

I would avoid this company again. Waste of time and money.

Update 2/5/26- carmount responded below. Their options are
1.send it to Estonia for 100% refund ( net loss to me)
2. If used, even once, send it to Estonia for 50% return (again net loss)
3. Keep it and get 25% back for a product that does not perform as advertised.

Do any of those sound like easy return in the US?? Do any of those options sound good and fulfill the 30 day refund in a meaningful way if unsatisfied, No!

They also refused to give me a US facility as they "aren't equipped to receive" them, despite being sent from a US address.

Did their response offer any opportunity for them to make it right? You be the judge.

False advertising. Returns address Estonia, and you pay!

Stay away! While they advertise “Easy Returns”, it’s a lie. What they don’t tell you is you have to pay to send the product to Estonia. The cost of freight is more than your expected refund. They never tell you this on the website. It’s a scam!

Returns are a scam

I received my mount in a reasonable time. In trying to test the magnet before installing it I realized it would not work with my case. I submitted a request to return on January 7. They replied Jan 8 asking for videos so they could "find a solution." I replied immediately that I just want to return it, per their 30 day return policy. Crickets at that point. I wrote twice and finally got a response on January 15 telling me to ship it to ESTONIA for a full refund. The product arrived from North Carolina. I replied asking for a US address. I understood the return policy states customer covers return shipping fees, but it does NOT state anywhere that it would be international shipping. I have heard nothing else as of January 19. I will be filing a refute with my credit card instead.

Poor adhesives

The magnet and holder are of a good quality but the whole thing is let down by poor adhesives.
If you live in a cold country you may be OK.
In Australia where temps exceed 35 on a regular basis the adhesives became soft and fail as its on a foam pad.
The company refused a refund as I bought in winter and didn't have a problem for 2 months.
Wouldn't recommend unless you live in Finland.

Carmount is the WORST company I’ve ever…

Carmount is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Customer service is horrible and is very slooooow to respond to complaints. Tried to return items, at my expense, to Estonia, using their instructions. Would routinely check status, with only a “still in transit “ response. FIVE MONTHS LATER, the package is returned to me because it was NEVER PICKED UP by Carmount! WTF?!?! I sent an immediate email to Carmount’s Customer Service… it’s been WEEKS and I still haven’t gotten a response!! Not even a “we’re looking into your complaint.” What a waste of my time and money!! Their return policy is a joke!! I will NEVER buy from this company again!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Unfortunately, while a package is still in transit, there is very little our support team can do until the warehouse confirms receipt.

Regarding the returned package, our warehouse did not receive any notification that a package required pickup. Under normal circumstances, returned parcels are delivered directly to the return address without issue. Without a carrier notification or delivery attempt, the warehouse would not have been aware that action was needed.

We also apologize for the delayed response to your most recent inquiry. Due to a high volume of emails during promotional periods, some responses have taken longer than usual, which is not the experience we aim to provide.

Don’t waste your money from this scam of a company.

Don’t buy from this scam of a company.

I ordered 3 for the buy 2 get 1 free offer. Only to received 1 and it was the wrong one that I ordered.

I received the ‘clutch x’ which I didn’t order, and it doesn’t stick to any surface in my car. What a useless device that can’t do the most basic function for $39. Pathetic.

I’ve emailed this useless company and still no response.

But still they send through promotional emails to buy more of their useless shit!

Clutch X One

I had seen the Clutch-X One on some social media ads. I had tried other similar devices in the past, but none held up to the hype. I decided to take advantage of a Christmas promo for gifts and a couple for myself. I had the opportunity to use mine for 2 weeks before everyone received theirs as a gift. This phone holder is everything as advertised and more. The articulated mount, along with the strong suction and mag-safe magnet, makes it a winner. The only phone mount you will need.

Lacking quality & "Money Back Guarantee" is false advertising

I purchased the Clutch-X phone mount and was extremely disappointed with the quality. The suction is unreliable - it barely sticks to the windshield and falls off dashboards entirely, especially when the car heats up. The arm is too short and unstable for a larger phone like the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The product videos and descriptions on their website are highly misleading.

When I contacted CARMOUNT about their supposed "money-back guarantee," it turned out that this only applies to unused items in original packaging and if you ship it back to Estonia (I purchased from Australia - the shipping cost would be at least half of the purchase value).

A true money-back guarantee should cover defective products, not force the customer to accept a partial discount or pay exorbitant international shipping costs for a full refund. This is an absolute joke and deceptive marketing. Buyer beware—their guarantee is designed to be unusable.

RETURNS TO TANZANIA!!!

Purchased for Christmas gifts and took too long, didn’t get my order until after the New Year. Wrote then to request a return for a refund. They tell me I need to ship the item back to TANZANIA!!! That’s right TANZANIA. The website claims that it ships from USA, but I can’t return it in the USA. I would stay far away from this company unless you are absolutely sure you are going to keep the item(s).

Do not recommend this company.

Amazing Product!

Amazing product! I previously purchased a similar mount from a competitor, and the quality was very disappointing. Despite their claims, the cheaper version would only stick to smooth surfaces.

The Clutch-X Phone Mount is completely different—it adheres securely to every surface I’ve tried and is extremely strong. The mounts are also very versatile and can be used just about anywhere. It truly delivers on everything it promises.

I purchased nine Clutch-X phone mounts and use them on my desk, exercise equipment, computers, and in our vehicles. Highly recommended!

Quick and Convenient Adhesive

This is a great product. The instructions are easy to follow, and it sticks on every surface I've tried so far. It's also easy to pack and take on business trips to use in rental cars. The adhesive is very good; in fact sometimes it can be almost TOO good, making it difficult to remove. But I would definitely buy again!
