Very dishonest and shady web outfit

Very dishonest and shady web outfit. Told me the report only costed a $1, but then charged me $29. No link available on the report to cancel the subscription. Called two of their phone numbers to cancel the subscription and only got recordings telling me to email the cancellation request. Finally got it cancelled a couple days after sending an email. One of the worst businesses I've ever dealt with.

Don't pay $1 for nothing

Don't pay $1 for nothing. It listed what it was one sale for or worth through it's history. Said no Salvage and obvious info, the Gas Mileage etc. Didn't say if it was EVER in an accident, no service reports. Waste of my time!

Smallest report ever. Useless.
And they say it's $1, but after the payment is confirmed, $29 came out of my card.
Complete scam!

Liars and thieves—stay away from them

They clearly stated “Free” and “Completely free” and then require a “$1” payment with which they get your credit card information and then proceed to steal from you—hoping you won’t notice. Liars and thieves—stay away from them!

Zero stars!! SCAM. Disgusted.

I’d give zero stars if I could. As others have stated, total scam. They asked for $1 and charged not only that but $29 and attempted to charge another $179.40. And the report wasn’t even accurate. These people are the scum of the earth. I’ve submitted to the BBB and the FBI cyber scam site.

And to make matters worse, they’re attempting to dispute this review. So adding insult to injury, these scumbags send an email with no reference number so there is nothing you can use but a screenshot or proof of email. Of course there is no picture attachment area here. So they’re trying to say this isn’t a legit purchase. That’s okay though bc I’ll send this dispute but carlookup to my credit card Company and get the last $30 they stole from me back. As the initial charge was all they got away with. Joke is on them in the end. Do not give these people your info!! Nothing is free!

Carlookup.com is a total scam.

Carlookup.com is a total scam.
Not only did they provide incorrect details on the VIN number I was searching, for which I agreed to pay $1, they also charge you, without disclosure, $19.95 AND $24.95.
I repeatedly asked for an itemized receipt for those charges, without obtaining one.

UPDATE
Since I disputed the fraudulent charges with my CC company, carlookup reversed those 2 charges.
I still would not touch this outfit with a ten foot pole.
I eventually went with a more reputable and mainstream business for VIN checking, and will never look back.
