Terrible customer service sold my car…

Terrible customer service sold my car and tried to phone up to cancel it took me 3 weeks before i had time to get through. Waiting up to an hour with out any success to get through on phone .They conveniently dont have any option on the website to cancel your policy .Eventually got through and had a big bill to pay for cancelling .This one of my worst experiences regarding insurance .Shocking that the regulations of the country allow this exploitation of people to go on, total robbery of people .Said enough .

Poor customer experience , it’s awful.

It’s interesting that this organisation makes it very difficult for a current customer to contact them.I guess that some people do not have the time to sit at home on the end of a phone , and eventually give up.

I wonder what the call abandon rate with this poor organisation looks like, people must hang up regularly

After listening to my wife’s experience on the 2/3 with a very unhelpful Agent that seemed happy to cancel the policy my wife was trying to amend unsuccessfully on line.

Then to be told that the underwriter would not permit an amendment to the policy, with no reasons provided. This was followed with a charge for cancelling a policy that the Halifax and the underwriter refused to modify.

What a Rip off and poor customer service taboo.

Checking the Halifax site in an effort to se how l can officially complain about the experience theres no option to where l complain , l Prefer to put it in writing.

It’s a poor service all round, but potential customers should be aware that the web page states they are not providing new policy quotes , look at the rating here on Trust Pilot and the lack of responses to the many complaints makes it clear that the Halifax are doing a poor job at looking after car insurance customers.

Shame on you Halifax. Stick to your core business what ever that may be .But, can’t be car insurance if you are passing new quotes to Lloyds .

Ombudsman here we come.

Another car insurance rip off.

Today l tried to renew car insurance with the said organisation, simple task l have a new car, my old car was insured with the Halifax, should not take long.
Spoke to the most disinterested person named Paul, he advised that l cannot renew my insurance for the new car, as the under writers would not permit it, it’s a brand new car. He could not explain why and advised that l should contact another contact centre .
At that point l had enough and he offered to cancel the insurance, but it would cost me 35.00 to do so.
If somebody cannot full fill an insurance contract why should the customer pay for cancellation ?.
This person ! Paul , was happy to cancel the policy but not willing to help me renew, or change my details for the new car.
This must be one of many scams that are being applied by the Halifax, to make money from a customer trying to give them business but when they can’t deliver , the customer still pays.

A total rip off, any current customer should be made aware and think twice before talking to Paul and the Halifax car insurance team.

Poor very poor customer service, avoid at your peril.

I would give them a minus rating if…

I would give them a minus rating if this was possible. They have added another £309 at the end of my insurance period for recently added claims which are in factual and I have informed them. Worst insurance policy and I would advise everyone to chose credible insurance firms. This is a rip off and customer service team are equally awful. Worst car insurance and most expensive I have ever had.

Hit from behind and considered liable. I thought my insurance company should act for me not against me

I was hit by the trailer of a truck who had strayed in my lane as he passed inside me on a roundabout I have dashcam evidence of the vehicle clearly encroaching in my lane and the collision is audible. The vehicle fled the scene but luckily we got the reg number and my wife can be heard reading it out although the reg number is not legible in the video. I reported the accident to Halifax and the police giving them both details and reg number. Halifax told me yesterday that the other vehicles insurance company will not accept liability as the reg number can’t be read and they therefore consider ME to be at fault and have loaded my policy by an extra £400 premium. I have not even claimed and repaired the wing myself. How unfair is that.

Needed to cancel my policy after…

Needed to cancel my policy after selling my car & not buying a new one.

Told I had to incur £35 admin fee & £9 for the rest of the months insurance with the broker but then they charged an additional months insurance on top off that. When I phoned to complain the person I spoke to put the phone down on me!!!

Awful experience with them so avoid if you can.

Would give them no stars if I could

Would give them no stars if I could. I had an email with a quote for renewal of my car insurance. I tried to log into my account but the system didn’t recognise my email (despite sending me an email to renew) The whole online renewal process was so difficult, I called them. The telephone system was worse. After an hour and a half of trying I decided to go elsewhere. Have now insured with a different company and will be closing all my accounts with Halifax.

Cancellation policy is a joke

Picked up a new car today and tried to change the car on my existing policy (almost like for like, just a newer version) only to be told they could not quote for the new car and I'd need to cancel the policy. charged me for the pleasure too. I am livid. I also bank with them and hold my mortgage with them - guess I'll be moving everything to another bank in the future.

Renewal of car insurance

Had an email from Halifax telling me the new price for the renewal of my car insurance including how much it would be per month. A soft search was also conducted. The insurance ran out at midnight on the 18th Septemer. On the 19th they sent me a text to say the insurance had been cancelled. I checked my emails and as they had arrived whilst on holiday unfortunately had not seen that it was not on auto renew and I had to log on and accept the new years quote. Fine, you might say this is your own fault.... However, rang Halifax as soon as I got the text and explained what had happened, I had been with them since 2019. They said they would not renew as they were not taking new customers on and to go and look on insurance comparison sites. Disgraceful service to a long standing customer

Disappointed

Disappointed, called to get a quote to change my car cover, as I’m changing my vehicle. The quote they gave me was almost £40 more a month than it currently costs! Very frustrating, as I’ve been a customer for a few years with no claims in the 22 years I’ve been driving! So it seems it’s more important for them to scam me out of £86 to cancel my policy, rather than offer me a reasonable quote and keep me as a customer.

Don’t look after careful drivers

I am giving 1 star as having been a customer for a couple of years, can’t comment on their response to claims as haven’t had one. Received my renewal and it had gone from £156 to £219 - I’m not great at maths but would estimate it 45% increase. I have over 9 years no claims, have had a clean licence for 40 years so why penalise safe drivers. I’ve done a comparison and got the same cover with Saga for £145. I cannot understand why insurance companies don’t look after safe drivers - it’s a no brainer in my book. customers expect an increase but 45% on a policy where nothing has changed is outrageous. Had it been an increase in line with inflation I would have just renewed with them.

Forced to cancel my policy as Halifax were unable to add a new car on to the Policy

My Wife and l were quite happy with our policy but when we bought a new car (a Ford Puma) they advised me that they were unable to give me a price for the new car and that l would have to get a quote elsewhere where which was a little annoying but a new quote was sorted on an online comparison site but when l tried to cancel the Halifax policy l was advised that a £35 charge would apply "but l didn't want to cancel but had to because you couldn't give me a price on the new car" l was told it was my fault because l bought a new car and the the cancellation charge would apply!
I wanted to stay with the Halifax but they have lost this customer for ever!!!

If I could award them NO stars I would

If I could award them NO stars I would, truly awful service at renewal, I bank with them, Home insurance with them, the wife has car insurance with them, and none of that appears to matter.

Pretty disgraceful customer service

Pretty disgraceful customer service. Like others changed my car from a Lexus ES 300 to a small Volvo EX30. They would not amend the policy yet charged me a cancellation fee before refunding the unused portion of the insurance.
This is totally unfair practice. I can not see any reason not to insure the new car. I guess they are trying to get out of car insurance. Good way to lose customers from ALL their products, INCLUDING BANKING!!

Car insurance.

Bought a new car, they refused to insure the new car (citroen c1) on the current policy and made me pay a cancellation fee for the privilege.
Chased weekly for the cancellation fee when it was already agreed to be paid at the end of the month.
Staff rude and unhelpful.
Given that it was with Halifax I thought it'd be a decent insurance company but absolutely shocking and won't be using them for any insurance again.

Car insurance

Got an email this morning 09.29 to say my insurance had lapsed, despite an email 4 weeks ago saying it would automatically renew the car insurance. On telephoning them they stated I had to apply on line. On doing so they are not taking on anymore customers. Had to renew elsewhere. That's the house insurance going to another company too when it expires. Had i not been off work today I would have driven the car this morning

Existing Customers Beware.

I have been with Halifax car insurance for a while now and was always happy with their prices/policy. This week I purchased a new vehicle and on calling them to update the policy with the new car I was informed that Halifax are not offering any new insurance cover on replacement vehicles even for existing policy holders and could not assist me further. As I had no option other than to cancel my policy and seek a new one elsewhere they then informed me that I had a £35 cancellation fee and a £40 admin charge ! Having paid my annual fee upfront I was told they would send me £1.42 cheque !! I told them not to bother. Unbelievable please avoid this company and get new renewal quotes elsewhere from today.
