I noticed some garages use CarGurus, maybe it’s because the commission may be cheaper than Autotrader. Overall, I’ve noticed the cars on car Guru are cheaper sometimes. We shouldn’t really support the... See more

Simple and clear website enabled me to identify the good quality used car that I was looking for from a reliable dealer close to my home.
Northwesttradecentre
Northwesttradecentre: Preston website
I came across this advert today Sunday 25/5/2025 on
This is the vehicle I purchased from them (GX1BVP)on 15/4/2025 and got it delivered on 29/4/2026. The car delivered had roof damage and both front tyres well below legal tread. It came with Mot until Oct 2026 and not the full 12 months Mot as promised. I rejected the vehicle and returned it to them on 21/5/2026 with mileage on return at 67,136 plus mileage back to Preston 45 miles.
So how can they advertise this car on 25/5/2026 with 66907. Which is the mileage when I purchased the car. This is mis-representing the true mileage and condition of this vehicle as I reported to them on 30/4/2026 the damage to the roof and the baldy tyres.
BEWARE: Inspect the vehicle before buying..
2 days at dealership, Bollocks. I purchased it on 15/4/2026 33 days ago from this dealership. BEWARE. 👎👎👎
You did not and I repeat not help me…
You did not and I repeat not help me find my car,you didn't follow the breaf. You proposed Mercedes and others makes of cars, and when I unsubscribed to your site you carried bombarding me with advertising of no interest, I found myself to ask the Internet , to find a Fiat 500 seller in my area, Thanet. By the time you flagged up my choice of car I'd already paid a deposit on a car of my choice. And I since blocked yesterday as you were sending me info.
I had a disappointing experience with…
I had a disappointing experience with TTS. I traded in my 2019 Micra Tekna, which had a brand‑new MOT and had just been serviced at my own expense (£272). Despite this, I was told the car had been “repainted” and they would “need to do it again,” which they used to justify offering only £2,500. My car had never been repainted. The next day, they listed it for £5,150 without doing any work on it.
The car they sold me was also not properly prepared. I had to tax it myself, and the service history shows the last major service was in 2020, with only an interim service done in February. This means I am now left with the cost of a major service immediately after purchase — something a reputable dealer would normally address before selling a car.
Overall, the lack of transparency, the misleading comments about the repainting, and the poor preparation of the car I bought have left me with no trust in this dealership. I would strongly advise others to be cautious and to independently check valuations and service history before agreeing to anything.
I also want to acknowledge that experiences like this can leave some customers — particularly women — feeling dismissed or pressured during negotiations. No one should feel misled or undervalued when buying or trading in a car.
CarGurus Should Reconsider Advertising Motorzone Burnley
I would strongly urge CarGurus to reconsider advertising vehicles from Motorzone Burnley based on my experience.
I purchased a car from this dealership four months ago through a listing advertised on CarGurus. After developing worsening brake judder, I took the vehicle to a garage, where mechanics discovered the front wheel bolts had been dangerously over-torqued when the brakes were apparently done before delivery, causing damage and taking hours to remove.
Even more concerning, the inspection uncovered evidence of a previous engine fire that had never been disclosed to me, along with green masking tape holding part of the air intake in place.
I contacted the dealership directly regarding these serious concerns and received no response. As a platform that consumers trust to find reputable dealers, I believe CarGurus should be aware of experiences like this and carefully review the companies they choose to advertise.

A Genuine full detail is important & CarGurus is the most reliable with full info. All cars I look & liked go quickly
CarGurus Advertise good quality cars with complete details and acceptable price genuinely. The few I looked and had an interest are usually bought before i get the decision to go ahead.
I have seen the same car I missed at Car Gurus in another Autotrader selling with higher price!
