Diren was excellent to work with. Clear, keen and professional. We agreed a timeline on when I would confirm if I was going to purchase the car after paying a holding fee but on Diren’s day off, I received a phone call from Ryan who seemed rather pushy and demanding. Something that made me very close to walking away. This would have been a 5* review if this interaction with Ryan wasn’t presented.
I have no issues with the car at all mechanically. Runs and drives well.

Shortly after leaving a message on the website on Monday evening regarding an interest in a car on their website I was called back by Jahid at Cargem, Rainham,
Jahid took me through the options and suggested a payment to secure the car we were interested in until we could view it, this would be at fully refundable whatever our choice.
It turned out to be a good option as just after we had viewed the car and agreed to buy the next morning Jahid received a call at his desk from someone asking for a viewing.
Throughout Jahid was very personable, he provided and explained information concerning the great options that Cargem have for extended warranty, interior and exterior car protection and was continually helpful making the whole process as smooth as possible for my wife and I despite the car on sale only being with them a very short time Jahid allowed us to go home the same day with a lovely replacement car, being MOT’ed & Serviced only 3 days after my wife’s car, her pride and joy, was written off by someone’s careless driving.
As they say Happy Wife Happy Life. Thank you Cargem. Thank you Jahid.

Sales team were very keen and wanted me to write a review for them straight after buying the car on Google, then it went downhill. The salesman started ignoring my messages after I found many issues in the car the very next day.
The salesman also told me that the car had full service history but upon receiving the documents, it indeed did not.
The after sales team is even worse, as others have mentioned they have no respect for customers, as seen by my interaction.
Now I’m stuck with a broken car having to spend my time dealing with the finance company. Genuinely horrific experience like many others here.
I expect Cargem will reply with the same generic rubbish to contact the after sales team that they keep responding with, had the after sales team been helpful in the first place everything should’ve been dealt with before writing this.

I bought a Mercedes from CarGem 11 days ago and raised serious issues within few days after purchase - and got nowhere.
The car has a constant rattling noise and clear paint issues. Before buying, I pointed out a darker area on the front that I had seen in the online advert. I was told it was “just a shadow” and that the car had been fully checked, prepared for sale, and had no paint or accident issues.
That simply wasn’t true.
Once I raised my right to reject within the short period, it was refused. CarGem said they would fix the rattling, but made no acknowledgment of the paint issues and kept questioning them, saying they needed to “investigate” and asking if I had a recording with the salesperson — implying that without it, there was no evidence.
Yesterday we spoke with the aftersales team, I was made to feel like I was simply “Unlucky” compared to other customers and assured that they’ve dealt with many legal cases before and that I wouldn’t succeed. That’s not how you treat someone raising legitimate faults.
After a few emails, they told me to seek legal representation, so I’m not planning to stop — I have every legal right to pursue this and try to be ''Lucky'' this time.
Overall — it feels like once they have your money, that’s it. Issues are ignored there is no proper support, just pushback. If you’re thinking of buying from them — be careful. Don’t rely on what you’re told and get everything in writing or better recorded as advices by Aftersales.

I am writing to formally complain about the way both Mr Dale Walcott and I were treated during a phone conversation on 24/02/2026 at approximately 9:10am regarding the sale of my car (Registration No: GM17 WND). The call was with a member of staff from HillTop Motors Limited T/A Cargem.
During the conversation, the staff member was extremely rude and spoke to both of us in a disrespectful and dismissive manner. I felt he was attempting to take advantage of me and implied that, because I am a woman, I would not understand matters relating to cars. I found this behaviour both offensive and highly unprofessional.
I was informed that £1,100 would be deducted from the agreed selling price due to three small stone chips. This proposed deduction is completely disproportionate to the issue described, and no reasonable or professional justification was provided to support such a significant reduction.
Furthermore, I witnessed the staff member speaking rudely and inappropriately to Mr Walcott while he was calmly explaining that the stone chips were minor and could be easily rectified. The tone used throughout the conversation was unnecessary and unacceptable, particularly as he was simply supporting my concerns and attempting to clarify the matter.
I request that this complaint be thoroughly investigated and that HillTop Motors Limited T/A Cargem management be made fully aware of this situation. I also expect to receive a written response outlining how this matter will be addressed.
Following this unpleasant experience, my husband and I have decided not to proceed with the sale of our vehicle.

Purchased a vehicle four weeks ago the sales team were very friendly, professional and accommodating but a little too keen on selling a three year warranty. I wish I could say the same about the preparation team four times I was promised it would be prepped to no avail including the day of picking it up, they would have done better to take it to the local car wash. I was allowed a short drive around the compound where we noticed a problem with both head lights which were replaced with second-hand ones. Having said all this it was a car that I wanted so we went through with the purchase and also took out the synthetic coating having been promised that the car would be prepped and we would not see any polishing circles. Forty minutes later the car was handed to us in very bright sun light looking great. However, that’s when thing started to go wrong. A rear wheel showed signs of a buckling which turned out to be loose wheel nuts, in not so bright light the synthetic coat had been applied over polishing circles, dirt and missed in places. When I phoned to our friendly sales team I was passed on to their after sales, ‘what after sale’ the only reply I have received was yes you’ve guessed it one not helpful email then no further replies to three more. Further to this I have had to replace the front brake pads and discs as they was down to the back plate, could I have taken it back for that, yes, but would I trust them, NO.
OK would I buy another from them, the answer is NO
Why, the sales team are very good at their job up until purchase. Prep Team should be (not printable).
Would I Say you shouldn’t buy from them, that’s for you to determine every one’s experience is different.
I would however, suggest a real road test drive and examine the car very thoroughly do not accept the sales banter as gospel; I’m not sure they know how bad their prep guys are, and read all the reviews I didn't.

FRAUDSTERS !! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE
I have just reported them to Motor Ombudsman and Trading Standards. I've just paid £16,846 for a Mercedes from them and was told they they had found a crack in the headlight and so they had ordered a new one from Mercedes to replace this and I would have to wait a few more days till this was fixed before they could let me have the car. I paid £395 to have the car delivered as Cargem is over 300 miles away from me, only to find that the headlight hadn't been replaced and was cracked and loose and even though they had put the car through an MOT, two of the tyres had big chunks of tyre missing which as a minimum should have been an advisory, so either themselves or the mechanic they use for MOT's is fraudulently passing cars through their MOT's. I have been battling to get responses from them now they have my money and they are basically calling me a liar, saying that they never told me the headlight was cracked and they were replacing it. I really wish I had read the reviews prior to buying a car from these fraudsters, as it seems I am one of many they have conned. They have made the whole situation of buying a car extremely upsetting and they have no concern at all for the aftercare of their customers once they have secured a sale with you.....Lets hope Trading Standards and the Motor Ombudsman can puta stop to them ripping people off !!!

I purchased a car from this cowboy company on Saturday. Very friendly staff, all just wanting your money. Long story short, they drill holes through BARE METAL in every car, instead of using the manufacturers holes. Completely lazy and ridiculous thing to do. This is so they can put their own number plates on with their advertising on. So once I change my number plate to a shortened plate, I now have a car that will potentially let water in and rust. Plus, I’ll have two ugly drilled holes either side. They have also said the car has been serviced with them, even though when I got it home the service light came on, which I now need to take to a garage to get removed. I spoke to the manager Hussain about this, he was rude and didn’t care whatsoever, saying “What do you want me to do about it?” Also he said as a ‘good will gesture’ he will get the service light removed! I’m sure that was something you were supposed to do anyway. Absolute joke. They take your money, and do not care about you once they have it. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
