hi my name is Abdulmoueid. I subscribed to a $100 plan that was supposed to provide 100 reports as a balance. Over time, I accumulated around 400 reports. After that, I paused my subscription temporarily to use the remaining balance.

However, once I stopped the payment, all my accumulated reports were removed without proper warning. I was informed that since I stopped paying, they would only refund the last $100 payment — but they did not restore my remaining report balance.

What makes this worse is that there was nothing clearly stated in their terms and conditions indicating that stopping the subscription would result in losing all accumulated reports. Additionally, they later changed their pricing, and my entire balance was effectively wiped out.

No proper solution was offered, and no fair refund was provided for the lost reports.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service. Be cautious before subscribing.

Short version: Started horrible. Ended great. About to use again, just waiting on their "maintenance" to finish.

Long version: I tried running a car three times, with the report constantly failing. I was ALREADY charged. I thought I was being scammed, and was ready to start a charge back (did in on one of my more secure cards to be 100% safe).
I used their chat tool, and I eventually got an email from someone explaining the system was down, and that they would run the report "manually" for me. I gave them the VIN, and they responded promptly with the report. It was accurate, official Carfax branding and all -- it ended up saving me from almost buying a lemon because of accident and damage details not disclosed to me by the seller of the car I was looking at.

So yeah, in the beginning, it looked completely suspicious. It STILL kinda does LOL.
But now that I've used it with success, it's worth it. I'm gonna use it for the next car(s) we're looking at during our used car shopping.

Hopefully my story helps someone. Because it really looked suspicious in the beginning, but it 100% paid off. You might not get a report ASAP. But waiting a day to save $8 vs. $40? No brainer.
