Buyer protection failed on damaged high-value card
After many years as a loyal Cardmarket user, this experience has completely changed my perception of the platform.
A Manga Rare card valued at €329 arrived badly damaged because of poor packaging. I followed all procedures, submitted photos and an official DHL damage confirmation, and opened a case immediately.
However, due to an internal mistake, the dispute was closed incorrectly, the order was marked as received without my consent, and the seller was paid. Subsequent attempts to correct this were met with silence or ticket closures without proper review.
The seller did not help resolve the situation, and the Trustee buyer protection I paid for failed to protect me in a clear and well-documented case.
This level of dispute handling is unacceptable for high-value transactions.
UPDATE (Jan 9, 2026): After nearly a month of claiming and admitting an administrative error, Support offered me a partial refund of €100 as a "goodwill gesture." I accepted it to close the case, but I still lost €229. The most concerning part is that the shipment was insured by DHL (DHL Paket) for the full value, but Support refused to process the full insurance claim. The Trustee Service failed to secure the insured value of the shipment.
wrong card
I received the wrong card and the seller never replied to my messages, but Cardmarket’s support team stepped in and handled everything quickly and professionally. Their assistance was fast, attentive, and extremely helpful.
Thank you to the Cardmarket support team for resolving the issue and providing excellent service!

Seller issue resolved
I had an issue with a scamming seller who started to have a lot of undelivered orders including mine. After I raised a ticket I was issued a goodwill refund which I appreciate. Hopefully the scammer will be investigated.
Best service
Best helpdesk service i've had in a long time.
Fast reply and very friendly.
Customer service ignore you
Customer service ignore you. I've been trying to get some support on a sale that never arrived from over a year ago now. But their automated system doesn't work and the email that they tell you to use to contact them if it's not working they ignore any emails you send. There's posts online from other like me that have the same problem. I used to like using their service but now it's difficult to trust it.

I was scammed for more than €200 by a seller. The cards were fake, but I only realized it about ten days after confirming the order. mkm's support allowed me to return everything and receive a full refund. Thank you so much. I will be careful never to confirm my order before I'm 100% sure of the cards I purchased.

Quick and generous refund for an order made from scammer: the fault definately wasnt the cardmarket’s.
Quick and effective response.
Another support disaster.
Another support disaster.
buyer claims item arrived opened. RM claims it wasn't and support refunds the buyer prior to the buyer signing documents from RoyalMail to dispute this?
So now that the buyer doesn't have his money frozen why would they be inclined to sign RoyalMails letter... thanks for making me out of pocket by not following industry standards on item not received cases.
Extremely Poor Seller Protection & Mismanagement of Disputes
I’ve been selling online for years through eBay and Vinted with thousands of successful transactions and excellent feedback. Recently I added Cardmarket to my sales channels, and unfortunately the experience has been extremely disappointing.
A simple listing error (two cards with the wrong variant) turned into a major ordeal due to the way Cardmarket handles disputes. Even though I immediately:
Contacted the buyer
Offered a full refund
Offered an alternative version as a goodwill gesture
Followed the platform’s own Terms & Conditions
…the buyer continued to make unreasonable demands, including asking me to source cards from other sellers at my own cost. Instead of supporting the seller or enforcing reasonable expectations, Cardmarket support threatened to suspend my account despite me doing everything in good faith.
To make matters worse, the buyer left a factually false and defamatory review claiming I sent damaged items, wrong languages, and attempted to break TOS none of which happened. Cardmarket provided no initial protection or intervention.
As a seller, this is extremely discouraging. Cardmarket seems to prioritise buyers regardless of the situation, even when their claims are dishonest or manipulative. There are no meaningful safeguards for sellers, no proper verification process, and no balanced handling of disputes.
Comparing this to platforms like eBay and Vinted, the difference is night and day. Those platforms protect both sides fairly and don’t encourage abusive behaviour.
I would strongly advise new sellers to be very cautious when starting on Cardmarket. Until seller protection improves significantly, it’s an unreliable place to build a business.
Bad seller- cardmarket support solved issue
Had an issue with a seller who sold me cards at the wrong rarity and refused to give a refund.
Cardmarket support gave me a full refund on the order. I am satisfied with the provided support.
Poor Communication and Customer Support
I've largely had good experiences with CardMarket, but they recently double paid a credit withdrawal. They then announced this which is fair, but then copied me in on an email with 260 other sellers, which sparked a lot of concerns about our email addresses and otherwise being shared, which is a data breach.
They then have not responded to any of the 260 people within 3-4 days and taken two silent actions:
1. Tried to give us all 10 pound credit with no associated communication marked as compensation
2. Despite saying they'd tell us what to do with the initial double withdrawal on Monday, they have put all of us in minus credit without announcing that is how the repayment would take place.
The radio silence and attempts at not communicating after such a disastrous breach of privacy have been appauling.
Great for buyers and sellers
Great service and best for buyer and seller. I have collected cards forever and sold so quickly on Cardmarket that made my life easy.
