Great service!
I’ve been with CarCostCanada since 2006. Since then dozens of vehicles purchased by myself, friends and family. The staff is always prompt and professional whenever I’ve made inquiries. These numbers work!

The Bottom Line
The company is very informative with detail costs and even provided names of Financial institutions with rates of finance. They mention that a dealer somewhere near by will accept that offered sale price, and complete a purchase agreement.

Car shopping experience
I was contacted by an Ottawa based Toyota dealership salesperson as soon as signed up on Car Cost Canada. We set an appointment that the salesperson delayed as he was busy with another client, and when I arrived at the dealership I had to wait some longer time.
I was looking for a certified used Yaris 2-3 years old. The salesperson told me that it wasn't easy to find Yarises. Having done my online research I knew that wasn't true, and this made me not trust him. He proposed to me Corollas that were older - 2014, 2015. I didn't feel like he listened to or respected what I wanted. Eventually he proposed a 2017 Yaris, and when I attempted to negotiate a reduction in his proposed price, he brought irrelevant arguments into the discussion - he asked me if I had a trade-in, and I didn't. Still he proceeded to talk about the cost of refurbishing a trade-in, even though it was irrelevant to my purchase.
At home I contacted a Montreal based Toyota dealership and asked for what I wanted. Their salesperson replied factually with three certified used Yaris cars for me to choose from. No stories, no pushing something else, easy to negotiate with. I bought the car from them and it was a smooth and easy transaction, well worth the trip from Ottawa.
I emailed the Ottawa salesperson to let him know of my decision, and received his reply email asking me for a link to the car I was buying. I sent him the link and haven't heard back.
I did not enjoy my experience with this dealership and wouldn't recommend it.

I just purchased a 2019 Santa FE
I just purchased a 2019 Santa FE, and I got the best deal using CarCost Canada. As soon as the dealer saw that I had used CarCostCanada he was talking 3% markup. No hassle dealing with price just focused on getting the trim we wanted. I new I wanted a Sante Fe so opted for the free service but would have gladly paid the up-charge to get competitive manufactures reports. I've used CarCostCanada before and had to pay around $50 there new pricing model is MUCH better considering $50 was a bargain. Over the years I have saved over $5000 using their service. Note you will get calls from dealers re your reports, it's your option if you want to deal with them or go with your local dealer. I just this as extra leverage with my local dealer.

Data is Power...
After a couple of hiccups involving personnel listed as CarCost contacts who were no longer employed by the dealerships, I found the pricing data supplied by CarCost both helpful and interesting from the perspective of a potential purchaser. It’s so much more effective to bargain UP rather than DOWN not knowing the true “bottom line”. I felt empowered by the process. Thank you.
