Poor unprofessional PSC Accountancy service. Examples of my experience include:
1. Last minute information requests for VAT returns.
2. Failure to understand HMRC rules. Refusal to acknowledge contractor expense requirements.
3. VAT submissions submitted using another Clients template where they failed to delete line items from the report resulting in an incorrect £ value if not identified by me I could have paid excess tax.
4. Poor grasp on English language specifically around Financial terms causing communication problems.
If you're a PSC / LTD Company contractor, based on my experience I strongly recommend you do not use this organisation.

I’ve been using Caps IT for my limited company as an independent consultant and the service has been excellent from day one.

What really stands out is how proactive they are, smooth onboarding, and they make sure everything is done properly and on time. That peace of mind alone is worth it.

I do not have the most complex tax affairs but every time I have had a question or issue, they have investigated it, explained it and (most important of all) solved it.

Fee is modest, contact is fast by phone or email and when necessary, they nag, until you do your bit of the process.

I have recommended them to my fellow contractors and would not hesitate to do so again.

Caps-IT has poor communication skills and customer service. Some staff's English is unclear, creating communication barriers that caused me to miss deadlines.

Management doesn’t care whether you miss deadlines or not. It is not worthwhile to recommend this company to anyone. I made the biggest mistake in using their service.

Chris cold called me on the pretence of being able to help find a new contract.

Short version of call is they are accountants who have access to a network of agencies and can help me find work. Chris was evasive on the call and could not / would not explain how this worked due to GDPR :-)

He agreed to send an email detailing services offered WHICH DID NOT REFLECT THE SERVICES DISCUSSED ON THE CALL AND WAS FROM CAPS IT NOT THE COMPANY NAME HE USED ON THE CALL.

No one should deal with a company who are totally dishonest about what company they are and what they offer.

Most worrying was what I needed to send

They did not ask for details of my Ltd company, previous accountants, turnover etc

"We just need these easy documents for us to seal this deal –

1. Copy of your Passport – reply to this email as an attachment

2. Copy of any utility bill (electricity or water) or bank statement – reply to this e-mail as an attachment"

They wanted this before sending me ant T&C.

Are these a dishonest firm of accountants trying to get business in an underhand way or people trying to steal my identity?

Have been with CAPS IT for 3 months now. Jim was very helpful in on-boarding process and is very prompt to take required action in case of any issue. Akash who has been assigned as accountant is also very helpful to answer any open question.

Jim was very patient in understanding my needs and supported me in the opening of my company and that of my partner. Even when my partner had to close down the account he opened in error, Jim was kind to help. Jim was really there all the way!
