Looking at 68 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the printers unreliable, frequently encountering issues like paper jams, blank pages, or devices stopping working soon after purchase. Customers also faced significant frustration with connectivity problems, including difficulties with WiFi and software compatibility, especially with non-Canon cartridges. Canon UK Store EOS R10

Ordered a R10 with two lenses and battery. It appears to have shipped within the UK. Took two days to arrive. No issues for me.

Maxify GX6050 develops fault with duplexing

In January 2024 I purchased a Maxify GX6050 printer. Fortunately it had an extended 3 year warranty. In July 2024 the printer stopped printing in Duplex mode and I put in a warranty claim and eventually the printer was replaced under warranty with a new one. So 4 stars for the customer service and warranty department for that part.

Five months later and the replacement printer has EXACTLY the same fault. We can print single sided with no problem at all. When we ask the printer to print anything duplex it usually prints the first page duplex but then stops after the first side of the second page and says the paper size is wrong.

We have always use HP paper. It is always A4. The same as the first printer the duplex printing works well for about 6 months and then stops printing duplex. We have not had any paper jams. We have checked the printer, there are no dirty rollers that we can see when we remove the back cover and he printer works well with single sided printing - even if we ask it to print 20 copies of something.

This is a fault with duplexing.

I have 2 Canon PIXMA G7050 printers that are 2 or 3 years old and I have never had a problem with duplex printing - which we do a lot of. We use the same paper in every printer and never have any problems with any other printer than the Maxify GX6050.

Abysmal customer service

My daughter first ordered a canon camera and lens on October 10 2024, it never arrived and she had to chase for a refund. She reordered it to our home address at the beginning of December and it still hasn’t arrived despite it saying 3-5 working days for delivery. I called on her behalf and raised a complaint and have not received a follow up call or any further information from Canon about when it will be delivered. She still doesn’t have the camera she needs for her course despite first ordering in October. I am shocked at how abysmal the customer service has been. No updates no information, it just says processing on a permanent basis. Canon should be ashamed of themselves.

Shocking system and service

Ordered a canon SX740 HS camera on the 28th December which stated delivery would take 1-3 days. I didn’t receive a dispatch email so I called customer service, the first person I spoke to told me that they don’t know what’s going on and they can’t help me and I should wait to see. I then called again the next day and a different person told me that I most likely haven’t received a dispatch email because the camera I ordered is in demand and they took too many orders which they couldn’t fulfil due to not having the stock. Said that they’d email me the same day with a solution, which I received 2 days later telling me that there wasn’t enough stock to fulfil my order and they weren’t sure when the item would be back in stock. Had to call customer service for the 3rd time to cancel my order to get the money back. Heard this is a repetitive issue, wouldn’t ever order from here again.

Cancelled Orders and Misleading Stock Listings

I ordered a Canon G7X Mark II after seeing it labelled as "In Stock," but now they’ve stopped shipping orders, claiming the camera is out of stock. Why would a company label a product as available, only to refuse to fulfill the remaining orders? It’s misleading and frustrating.

I’ve contacted Canon multiple times, but the only response they offer is, "Wait 15 days, and if it’s still out of stock your order will be automatically cancelled. Alternatively, you can cancel it yourself."

This is extremely disappointing. You pay for an expensive camera expecting reliable service, only to be told to cancel your own order or wait indefinitely. It's unacceptable customer service for a company like Canon.

Awful experience

Awful experience. Product wasn't being sent for day and days, impossible to get in touch with them, trying to call, after 55 minutes they answered and hung up straight away. But they quick to take money from my account and then no information provided on when it will be dispatched.

Love the printer but the ink…

Love the printer but the ink subscription went wrong in the first month. I subscribed to the 100 page a month sub and the cartridges arrived. Both colour and black ran out after 90 pages ( so I didn't even get the 100 pages I paid for) but the ink levels on my subscription account showed them full even tho I was connected to the internet all the time. So I cancelled it.

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service. Bought an item on their black friday sale with next day delivery. UPS attempted to deliver only twice, the second time I was at home all day waiting for it but they barely knocked and sent a notice through the letter box to say it was final attempt. It is impossible to contact UPS to change the delivery etc yourself. I immediately contacted canon and they put a request for it to be delivered to an access point. There was no update for over a week after calling daily and then finally they told me it would be returned/refunded and they could not honour the black friday discount so I can only repurchase it at a higher price. There was no ability from their end to process an exchange or a new product to be delivered. Complete lack of accountability on their end and failure to try and amend the situation. Never purchasing through them again until they consider changing their delivery provider.

Canon Pixma 3600 series the worst…

Canon Pixma 3600 series the worst printer I've ever owned and will be the reason I won't ever buy another Canon printer. Print quality is not the problem: communication with computers is the everlasting, multi-faceted and insoluble problem. Whether its a Mac or PC, unreliable connections causing headaches, delays and so much confusion to computers they have to be shut down and restarted. This sorry excuse for a printer will shortly be replaced with another more stable and reliable brand.

Blindingly bright control panel - Unalterable!!!!! - Yet TOTALLY pointless light under printer which just lights the desk it is sitting on!! has 4 different colour and THREE!!!! brightness levels!!

Canon PIXMA TS7750i printer - I have just bought this printer I just really really urgently need to turn down the blinding white brightness of the control panel screen you have to use for every single thing you do - scanning, photocopying, printing, so you have no choice other than to stare at that screen constantly for everything. It is unbelievably blindingly, eye-damagingly bright and white!!, just horrific to look at. Nothing on settings so I emailed canon, they have just replied advising there are no adjustments at all for the brightness of the control panel - BUT!!! There are totaly settings for brightness AND the colour of the light for something called the status light, which is a light underneath the printer!! which has absolutely no function whatsoever except to light up the table the printer is sitting on!!, it literally has no use for anything at all!, but this light, you are given 4 different options for the colour of the light!!!!! - FOUR different colours!!!!, for a light I have absolutely no use for whatsoever!!! - Why on earth does a light which has no purpose at all, and nobody wants, have FOUR different colour options?!?! - the only thing I want to do with that light is turn it off to save the planet and my electricity bill because it has no use whatsoever! - Yet, unbelievably!, the choice of colour of light options for the control panel you constantly HAVE to look at to use the printer for everything, has NO different colour options AT ALL!!!! - NONE!!!, you just have blinding white!!!, why on earth would you give four different light options for a completely no use whatsoever status light, and none at all for a control panel you have to look at constantly?!?!?! The totally pointless status light ALSO, UNBELIEVABLY!!!, has 3 different settings for how bright you want it!! - THREE!!!, for a light you have no use for whatsoever and do not want!!!! - But the control panel, which you HAVE to use CONSTANTLY, for EVERYTHING!! - you are not given ANY brightness level options AT ALL!!! - NONE!!!! - is that not totally insane?!?!? Not even a simple option to invert the background colour so the blinding white becomes black - Nothing!!! - WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canon IS binocular repair - impressively good

I have a pair of Canon 10x42 L IS WP binoculars, 8-9 years old, heavily used for birdwatching. They are superb... both glass quality and the image stabilisation - but last week the IS module failed and I could not focus the bins. Visions of an expensive new purchase crossed my mind. But instead I contacted Canon and used their online repair request service. From first telephone call and sending the item to Elstree, to today receiving the repaired item back, cleaned, refurbished, new IS module and eye cups and all, was only 6 days - for a small fraction of the price of a new unit. I am very impressed.

Purchased TS5150

Purchased TS5150, but also previously owned Canon printer. Print quality has been average and now printer says printer jam with no sign of any paper! I'm so sick and tired of the quality of this manufacturer and the waste of hard earned money buying this product. I will be buying a HP printer based on a recommendation from a users who's had years (many) of trouble free printing.

DO NOT BUY A CANON PRINTER EVER!

Not worth it: expensive and abysmal software and cartridge expreience. (printer techincally has all the features promised but for what?)

Purchased a Canon PIXMA TS5100 series printer. I'm aware that ~what you pay is what you get, so I expected only the bare minimum of advanced features from it as it was advertised. Thos features w printing, copying and scanning actually work well and I'm more than happy with them.
BUT....
Full printer software has very small range of compatibility and keeps pushing extremely wasteful options. It makes you jump through 2-3 separate hoops to print in any sort of quick and/or draft/low quality option, no matter the paper/ink/quantity/quality settings. It's just the worst kind of clandestine predatory behaviour.

WORSE STILL there is NO OPTION for at least some Windows 11 machines to use only the black cartridge. (I'm saying at least some because I've had only limited access to one when trying to get through necessary printing. There may potentially be a workaround, but with the architecture and access I had, I couldn't get to any of the basic options that Win10 software already had. Still feel like this disclaimer may already be too generous.)

So now printing with this machine will deplete both cartridges for purely B&W printing with no visible quality difference at all (compared to black cartridge only and draft mode enabled from a previous computer) on every single document.

I've found a workaround for my specific task by channeling resources into reviving an old computer still just about running win10 after several days of troubleshooting. But that is already a privilege to have access to - every single regular user shouldn't be expected to have a backup machine just so that they're able to access very basic, i would say outright "dumb" functionality.
If Canon is desperate for more revenue, please increase the price of the printer itself and make more useable software instead of forcing users to avoid 2-3 separate traps when printing any single document.
I don't think I've written a single negative review in my life before this one, but what they're putting unsuspecting users through both short and long-term is abysmal, and I genuinely hope someone loses sleep over tricking people this way.

Monthly Print Plans and still no ink

After purchasing a Canon printer, I decided to subscribe to a Canon Pixma Print Plan. I pay monthly and received my initial ink supply at the start of the plan in March. 7 months on, I have run out of ink and have not received any replacement ink. I contacted Canon over 3 weeks ago and still no resolution to the problem nor any ink sent to me. I am paying for a print plan but cannot print anything, and they are not getting this sorted. Terrible service.

Could do better

My wife and I purchased a pair of Canon 15x50 IS Image stabilising binoculars for our bird watching weekends. The binoculars are amazing (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) especially the image stabilisation no need for a tripod/monopod regardless of whether you hand held or elbows on a shelf in a hide.

What lets them down is the cheap bag to keep/store the binoculars. Zero padding and the front catch fell apart within 2 weeks and there are no lens caps for the front of the binoculars they do have a screw thread so you pay extra and screw on 2 x clear filter protectors the 2 rubber caps that go on the eye pieces don't fit very well and fall off all the time taking the binoculars in and out of the bag. There is no strap for the case just for the binoculars. Concerning how much you pay for these binoculars Canon could do much better.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever, They don't want to sell the products at all. They cancelled my order and as a reason, that too when I asked, they said there was a "discrepancy, I did not meet the security requirement" and they kept repeating the same thing again and again. They are the manufacturers and they ask me to buy their product from a third party retailer which does not make any sense. If you don't wanna sell your product from your site, just close the store. They don't have any physical store where we can go and complaint. The online customer service is just garbage and robots.

I was planning to buy the Canon EOS R8 bundle from Canon’s official site after seeing a £400 discount. I managed to place the order using a friend’s PayPal account, but within a few hours, the order was canceled without any explanation. When my friend reached out via live chat, they mentioned “discrepancies” but refused to give any details due to “security reasons.” I was left confused and frustrated as no clear reason was provided.

Determined to still make the purchase, another friend offered to buy the same bundle, paying the full amount upfront. Again, after around 12 hours, the order was canceled with no reason given. When I contacted Canon support, I was told the same vague message, and to my shock, I was even advised to buy the product from a third-party retailer, even though it’s exclusive to their store. It doesn’t make sense for the official store to redirect customers elsewhere.

When I escalated the issue via phone, the customer service representative refused to pass me to a manager or provide any useful information. In the end, I was told I can no longer place any orders from Canon’s official store, without a proper explanation as to why. It’s frustrating to be blocked from purchasing a product without any transparency.

Canon G3570 - Buy a differet Make!

I have a Canon G3570, it’s less than a year old, it has broken. I have to send it back for repair and no loan service provided. I use this for my business, and can’t be without it for the expected 2 weeks (likely longer) I will be without it. Customer service is dire. I purchased direct from Canon. I need to purchase another printer now and will never use this company or its products again.
