The Camelot Retreat Glastonbury UK

The Camelot Retreat felt uninviting. I felt I had no choice but to stay in my room. The Meditation Room and Garden were not accessible through the house much of the time and it just didn't have a 'hang here and chill vibe' downstairs. When I arrived at Camelot Retreat, I was greeted by a courteous young lady who showed me around. She helped me with my case up the stairs. The place was also v clean and well ventilated with open windows, a massive plus. The shower was brilliant, although sharing with so many others wasn't.

2 noisy female residents chatted and squealed through the night until 11.35pm, disrupting my sleep. There was no cup, spoon or coffee or biscuits in the room. No desk. Just a kettle!

The breakfast was described as continental but was a huge disappointment. I would expect fresh croissants, de-stoned prunes, maybe some tinned oranges, a range of jams and an assortment of yoghourts, as well as fresh ground coffee, fresh rolls and packets of butter and juices. Either that or a cooked breakfast. As it was, there was just some half-full soya and oat milk and 2 pots of super-saver yoghourt in the fridge. There was a brown cheapie loaf in fridge with a half used block of butter and used spreads. We did have option to use some eggs from fridge but as I am not comfortable with gas cooker and nobody was around to help in the morning, so I didn't go there.

I had put on my request form when booking I needed to avoid feather bedding - the bedding in there felt like it contained feathers. I also had to ask for a sheet as it was scorching and there was just a duvet - and the sheet was not 100 per cent cotton. The lady who was on the premises had no warmth. I felt like I shouldn't be hanging about downstairs.

I love my coffee in the morning and the coffee here was just decaf instant - terrible

There was no ensuite, which meant sharing with 3 other rooms. Sorry poor value for 89.00 a night
