Picked up some nice bags from this…

Picked up some nice bags from this place both new and 2nd hand. I did visit the store to buy a present for a friend recently and I think that I'm onto a real winner. On top of this as mentioned earlier I bought a couple of bags and some bits and bobs from vinted from the brand and was satisfied with the quality.

Minus 10 if possible. Awful company. Poor customer service. Ongoing complaint re London store. Completely ignored. Now they accuse me of lying. Court action to follow

Scammers

Scammers! I bought the Miffy airpods holder. It looks nothing like the photo. It is cheap and crap as other reviewers have said and they are refusing to refund the postage plus making me pay for the return. So that little impulse buy has cost me around £14 in postage on a £25 item. DO NOT BUY.

EDITED TO ADD: No, the fact that it did not fit my headphones (a fact not made particularly clear on their website) was not the only reason I was returning it, but also because it was very low quality.

Our team reviewed the product listing on our website and found that it clearly stated that it was the Miffy AirPod Pro Case with all dimensions also available to help you make an informed decision before purchase. The images were also reviewed, and they accurately represent the product received by yourself.
As per our T&Cs customers are responsible for returns postage where the return is a change of mind, and the size being unsuitable for your specific needs would fall into this category. Unfortunately, we are therefore unable to offer a free return as explained to you by our CS team.

Green Traveller bag sales and repairs

I bought a green Traveller from the Covent Garden branch - the instore service was amazing, they even adjusted the strap to fit even better. Unfortunately, a couple of months later, the front magnet broke. However, I contacted their repairs team and they sent me a new replacement buckle within 7 days (all for free). Amazing bags and amazing service - I couldn't recommend them more!

Do what you do best

I used to love these traditional satchels in funky contemporary colours. I collected them in the 15in and 13in sizes, which I found most useful for daily use. I also bought the briefcase in a pale French grey, which I use for work.

The company seems to be moving away from traditional satchels and satchel inspired handbags. They now sell bags similar to those you can buy anywhere else, plus some gimmicky limited editions such as the Hello Kitty ranges.

Please return to your roots and do what you do best, which is not available anywhere else.

I would happily spend more on larger satchels in modern colours to blend with different outfits. But there has been nothing other than the traditional drab colours for ages, perhaps designed more for men than for women.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. I ordered the hiding Miffy bag and it has such a difficult clasp. Also, the leather is very, very stiff. The hard part of a return is the fact that I must pay for all shipping fees. From US to UK is anywhere from $90 and up. I was quoted $195 for return by way of FedEx. The bag is nice but it's certainly not worth over $310.

Leather too stiff, strap too short, unusable!

The leather was so stiff the satchel was unusable! I couldn't adjust the length of the strap, nor could I use the buckles to close the satchel. The leather might be of premium quality, but it was so stiff that I think cardboard would have been better. Had to return the bag. The strap was incredible narrow and cut into my shoulder terribly.

I have been hesitating in the potential…

I have been hesitating in the potential purchase of a bowling bag.
However, at the price (cowhide IS inexpensive! particularly when bought in large quantities).. I honestly would expect a little more care in say, having some lining and potentially a little purse attached on the inside).
Yes, they are cute but the craftsmanship is no better than some high street brands and the materials used are very accessible and good value.
So, The Campridge Satchel Company.. are you selling a name? Even Longchamp are better value!

Where do I start?

Where do I start? I placed 4 orders with the company. The first 3 arrived without an issue whereas the fourth one got re-labelled by the delivery company and sent back without being delivered. Here is where the story turns sour. I contacted the customer service department and was advised I had to WAIT for them to receive the item prior to receiving a refund. I argued that I never received the item to start with therefore it wasn't a return but it all fell on dead ears- mind you, I needed the money to purchase another item as this was a birthday gift. This experience was so disheartening that I decided to return the other 3 orders. Mind you, I had to pay for postage for each order over £6 each AND return postage. Needless to say I won't be purchasing from them again. I remember seeing a review on their website which mentioned that items had broken down without a few months and they offer a repair service- however after seeing how I was treated, I no longer believed the customer would honor that if I had any issues in the future hence I returned the other orders. It's disappointing to see that companies expect orders but do not want responsibility. I have since found better UK-made LEATHER items with FREE delivery and cheaper.

Misleading of personalisation


I recently ordered a personalized item, expecting a colored embossing as shown on the website. However, what I received was a “blind” embossing with no color, which was not clearly explained during the selection process. The website displayed color options (gold, silver, black), which led me to believe these would be used for the embossing, but the item I received only had the symbol impressed into the leather with no color whatsoever.

When I reached out to the company for clarification, I was told that blind embossing was the only option available, and no refund or return would be offered. The lack of transparency on the website regarding this process is misleading and left me with an item that does not meet my expectations.

It’s disappointing that customer concerns were not addressed more thoughtfully, and I would caution others to be aware that the product you see online may not be what you receive. I will not be purchasing from this company again.

Nothing but praise

Purchased a Batchel for my wife 12 years ago. Recently had it damaged due to some mould/mildew in our storage closet. Contacted them out of the blue if there's anything that could be done and received a list of helpful tips within hours. They had no obligation to help, but took at least 15 to 30 minutes of their time to provide some after-care to an old customer that they might not make a penny on anytime soon. Top notch. Thank you Amy and the Satchel Co team. When time comes to replace the bag, I know who I'll be visiting.

Another misleading offer from the…

Another misleading offer from the Company. ‘20% off the entire site’ …. only the entire site doesn’t mean entire …it excludes trunks which are one of their main products. Not sure when the word ‘entire’ meant ‘only part of’. Not sure I want to do business with a company that is ‘entirely’ comfortable misleading its customers, however good their products might be. Also, be aware that 10% off your first order doesn’t mean that either unless you have chosen a few selected products in your first order.

One and Done!

Ehh. I thought the leather was going to feel lux but tbh, it feels cheap. Esp the straps. I wanted to return the bags but the shipping costs just as much as the bags. You’re responsible for shipping FYI. So you better pick what you can live with even if you don’t like it. Two stars for responsive customer service.

For both reasons, I will not buy this brand again.
