🚫 NEVER flying Cambodia Air again

🚫 NEVER flying Cambodia Air again. Worst airport experience.

At check-in, the staff created total chaos and extreme stress because of luggage issues. The way they enforce their rules is completely unreasonable and makes no sense.

✅ My ticket included 23 kg checked baggage — no issues there.
But then everything turned into a nightmare:
1. They forced us to weigh all cabin luggage and claimed each passenger must have strictly ONE carry-on item and a maximum of 7 kg.
2. They offered no clear solutions, no flexibility, and no customer-oriented approach.
3. It was impossible to pay for excess carry-on weight — staff said they “don’t provide this service” and demanded we put everything into suitcases (which was physically impossible).
4. When I tried to pay for extra weight, they said even if you pay for 10 kg overweight, you still must “throw away” 10 kg into one suitcase (!)
5. Buying an extra suitcase / additional baggage allowance at the airport was not possible — they said “there is no such option.” They suggested using a cardboard box from airport workers to pack the items.
6. In the end, they gave an ultimatum: either pay around $160 for a second checked bag OR check in a backpack (a valuable item that can easily be damaged).

I literally had to wear extra clothes, stuff heavy items into pockets, and repack everything multiple times. This nightmare lasted about 1.5 hours and felt humiliating.

In the end, I only passed after paying $60, but it wasn’t a solution — it was pressure, poor service, and an attempt to take money while passengers are stressed and helpless.

❗ Cambodia Air does not help passengers — they break your nerves and squeeze money out of you.
I strongly do NOT recommend this airline. If you don’t want your trip ruined — choose another company.

Awful company

Awful company. They changed the flight time and did not inform me. I bought the ticket on the airline’s website. Check-in also starts only 3 hours before departure, although the manager told me it would be 240 minutes.

Flight cancelled

Flight cancelled. No notifications. My attempts at communication to them are 100% not answered.

Now....i look at this airline's reviews >> to find they have a HUUUUGE reputation for this very issue.

NEVER again. They just cost me an extra $300 for haviñg to buy a ticket on the day i fly - at New Year holiday time.

If another airline is available on your route use them!

I booked 3 flights as a single booking for our tour of Cambodia and Thailand. They rescheduled one to 5 hours earlier in day so we could not make it and then would not refund that leg.. saying they had to cancel whole booking or nothing

We found an alternate flight with them from another airport which they made us pay for and booked this on two weeks ago. The flight is in 2 weeks from today. I checked online this week and this new flight is listed as cancelled. There has been no communication from airline to tell me of this.

The customer help desk does not answer the phone so you are reliant on email and given I’m in UK and 7 hours behind it’s taken them 3 days to finally come back to me and say

“Sorry for commercial reasons we cancelled the flight please apply for a refund. We inform of cancellation by queue”

Surely if a flight is cancelled they should have an automatic email and refunds should be automatic.

Also how can any airline simply cancel two different flights for commercial reasons in the space of 3 weeks. What sort of operation are these cowboys operating
Long story short we now have to do a 3 hour transfer on land and take a much later flight on a different airline to get to final destination and I’m very nervous about my remaining two flights with this amateur airline

DON'T TRUST THEM - Book Air Vietnam or other respectful ones

DON'T TRUST THEM! What a joke of an airline. Cambodia should be ashamed. They love to switch their flight times around and combine flights together so when you think you're getting a 2pm flight, oh no, it will leave at 10pm instead. And of course by the time you know this it's too late to have purchased a respectable company like Vietnam Airways that actually say a time AND MEAN IT.

Thieves

This airline is an absolute scam. I cancelled my flight and requested a refund and they confirmed that the money would be refunded within 30-45 business days (they also added additional cancellation fees that were not present in their T’s & C’s, but whatever). Three full months later (65 business days to be exact) they have still not refunded me and are now ignoring my emails. Thieves!

Beware Scam Website: Angkorair.com

Please be aware of Angkorair.com, which is a scam website posing as Cambodia Angkor Air (now Air Cambodia.com). You think you are booking direct with the website, but they are scammers. Please be very careful to make sure you are on the correct website if you want to book with this airline ( but after my experience with the scam site and reading reviews I decided to take another route with AirAsia).

Disappointing Experience with Cambodia Angkor Air

I've had consistently frustrating experiences with Cambodia Angkor Air, specifically flight from Phnom Penh to Noi Bai Airport. My latest flight was supposed to depart at 5:40 PM but was delayed to 8:35 PM—nearly a three-hour wait! This is not an isolated incident either; around 60% of the time, my flights with this airline are delayed.

I travel between Phnom Penh and Hanoi twice a month, and unfortunately, delays with Cambodia Angkor Air have become a regular part of my trips. The lack of punctuality is a huge inconvenience, and there seems to be little regard for passengers’ time.

Until they improve reliability and start respecting scheduled times, I would not recommend this airline to anyone looking for dependable travel.

“I am extremely disappointed with this airline. My original boarding time was scheduled for 17:40, but it was delayed and changed to 21:30 without any reasonable explanation. This delay means I’ll now be arriving at Noi Bai airport much later than expected, adding a lot of unnecessary stress to my travel plans. I have a two-hour journey to my hotel, and I need to work early tomorrow morning. This kind of delay is unacceptable and has seriously disrupted my schedule. If timely service and reliability matter to you, I would reconsider booking with this airline.”

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! We booked 2 flights well in advance directly through the airline website (Hanoi - Siem Reap; Siem Reap - Ho Chi Minh City). About a week before the first flight we received an email to say it had been cancelled and insisting we also cancel the second flight (no explanation was given so we still have no idea why we couldn't keep the second flight in spite of asking to do so). We therefore had to book more expensive last minute flights with another airline as we were tied to specific dates. Still battling to get a refund never mind any compensation and have not received a response to the last few emails sent - absolutely shocking service.

Flight cancellations with 2 days notice

We got an email on the 3th June stating that our flight to Siem Reap on the 5th June was cancelled for commercial reasons and that they could relocate us on the following day's flight.
No compensation or hotel expenses given.

Flight cancelled less than 1 week before departure

Booked a flight more than 3 months out. Company cancels "for commercial reasons" less than 1 week before departure without any more explanation nor compensation. This caused huge logistical issues and cancellation costs, the airline would not help with anything.

Terrible customer service, especially from An Piya and Sereilen Doeur (who can barely speak English).

Below their emails:

"Dear Sir/Madame,

First i would like to say apologized about our flight on 14 MAY 24 KOSSAI K6130 was cancelled and protect you to flight k6130 on 16 MAY KOSSAI the same time as high light below :.

I hope you are kindly understand wee by my appreciated .if you have any problem please call to my office 855 23 6666 787-89

And please if you are travel agency ,could you kindly check all your passengers that flight on this day to inform them too.
