Awful Communication

I have found communication with the company to be consistently challenging and unresponsive. Their definition of 'mutual matches' does not align with my--or what I believe to be a reasonable person's--expectations or standards. For these reasons, I would never recommend their services.

I am sharing this as a former 1099 Independent contractor

I am sharing this as a former 1099 Independent Contractor for anyone considering investing their time or resources here. I recently began training as a Matchmaking Consultant with this company but chose to resign almost immediately because the environment and philosophy did not align with my professional integrity.

In my opinion, the culture appears to be built on high pressure sales tactics. I was uncomfortable with the level of persistence required in following up with potential clients, which felt transactional rather than heartfelt.

Most importantly, I found a fundamental disconnect in the company’s vision of matchmaking. My belief is that people hire a matchmaker to find something rare and meaningful. They often seek professional help specifically because the typical normative narrative has not worked for them. However, based on my observations during training, the company seemed focused on connecting people only within the easiest and most conventional paths.

I found the criteria used to evaluate potential clients to be antiquated and non-inclusive. I was deeply uncomfortable with what I perceived as rigid double standards regarding age and financial status, as well as a lack of equity for different relationship types. I realized that I could not, in good conscience, represent a service that I would not personally trust to find my own partner.

I ended my journey with this company before taking a single call because I believe love deserves more modern, inclusive, and restorative values than what I witnessed here. I strongly encourage anyone, whether as a client or a potential contractor, to do deep due diligence to ensure your values truly match their business model. It was my mistake for not doing my due diligence before accepting the position but also, I wish they would have been more transparent in the interview.

Recent Experience with Caliber Match

If you had a bad experience with Caliber Match as I have, please escalate to both the Arizona attorney general as well as your own state's attorney general. Filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau won't accomplish anything.

I could write a super long review detailing my negative experience with Caliber Match but I will leave it at this:

-Per the owner, you are not guaranteed *anything*. You could be a subscriber for an entire year or more and receive no matches. Forget about getting the refund at the end. The owner will tell you this is a "subscription" based service. NOT a results based service.
-The company does not hold itself accountable for lack of results whatsoever.
-If you request a refund at the end of your term, the company will cease communication with you within a couple of emails of you requesting a refund.
-Communication is atrocious. Most of the communication regarding status updates from your matchmaker will have to be initiated by you. I had a matchmaker disappear in October 2024 and I was not assigned a new one until weeks later when I reached out to Caliber's support email address.
-Caliber Match owner Emily Hellman seems to be active on review sites like TrustPilot and Yelp. Reviews on Yelp are routinely pulled down.

SCAM Stay away from Caliberbermatch.com

SCAM Stay away from this company - I promise you if you buy a number of matches from Caliber Match they will email you in a template format. While waiting they will do nothing to help you find a match. It’s been over 2 (started 8/11/2021) years checking in with this company. As of recently I called the owners number and extension numerous times but there is no response anymore. I have found over 3 quality matches on a free dating site called Facebook dating. Now in a committed relationship. Paying 2,000 to be scammed was one of the worst experiences of my life. Again stay away from them.

Total scam - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

Total scam. Took my money and did absolutely NOTHING. I had to continually call for updates. I got a few calls back in the first couple of months then just "ghosted". I sent countless emails to my "designated matchmaker" Jessica who stopped returning my calls. I tried contacted Emily who signs her emails as Owner/Founder/CEO and spoke to her one time. She promised to get back to me. NOTHING. I followed up with COUNTLESS emails to both Emily and Jessica and got ZERO response. Not even the professional courtesy of a return email or call back

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND SCAM!!!

I live in a small town (Vancouver WA)…

I live in a small town (Vancouver WA) and travel around the country for my sales role. I am a difficult client for a matchmaking service I would think! Caliber has adjusted well to my lifestyle and setup dates locally as well as around the country. I let them know my schedule ahead of time and they have delivered.

I had a phone call with one of them

I had a phone call with one of them. She told me they charge between $5,000 - $7,000. But you pay that much in several installments. I honestly do not trust them one bit and that is why I did not move forward. Careful everyone!
