CAKER STREET RUINED MY DAUGHTER’S 18TH BIRTHDAY

I am beyond furious and deeply disappointed with Caker Street.

I ordered a cake for my daughter’s 18th birthday — a milestone celebration with a big party planned, and the cake was meant to be one of the main highlights of the day. Instead, Caker Street completely let us down and ruined what should have been a special memory for my daughter.

Just two days before the event, they contacted me to say they would not be able to deliver on the agreed date and would instead deliver on the actual day of the party. That was already stressful and unprofessional, but I still gave them the benefit of the doubt.

I waited the entire day, hoping the cake would arrive. Nothing came. Then, just a few minutes before 11:00 p.m., they sent a message saying the cake had been “destroyed in transit” and would not be delivered at all.

At that point, the party was already over. No cake. No solution. No proper apology. Nothing.

How do you do that to someone on their 18th birthday? My daughter was devastated, and honestly, so was I. It was humiliating, upsetting, and completely unacceptable. A company that claims to provide cakes for special occasions should understand how important timing is. You do not leave a customer waiting all day, only to cancel at the very end of the night when it is too late to do anything.

The whole situation felt careless, disrespectful, and unbelievably badly handled. I do not believe this company took our order seriously at all.

This is, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any business. I would never trust Caker Street again.

Absolutely fantastic service. The cake for my missus’ baby shower looked beautiful and was designed exactly like the image we requested. It was fresh, tasted amazing, and was clearly made with care. I was also impressed with the delivery, it arrived the very next day, which was perfect for the event.

This is the second time I’ve ordered a cake from them and both experiences have been excellent. Reliable, professional, and the quality is always spot on. Do not trust this company. Such a shame that I've ordered a cake that came really damaged and taste horrible. They don't even reply our complaints. It was my daughter first birthday. And the cake price was 100 pounds. Do not trust Google reviews.

This company is a JOKE. The cake I ordered was nothing like the one they sent for my grandson’s 21st I couldn’t even give it to him.

My cake didn’t arrive my sons birthday has past he was crying his eyes off all his friends came . Very bad they don’t answer any emails or text , but while ordering they answer within the second . They should shut down

I wouldn’t even give one star!! I ordered a cake for my daughter to give to her at a restaurant and the cake was broken, the age was incorrect and the handbag wasn’t even standing. The cake inside was stale so no one had a bite of it. I phoned them and the customer advisors are so rude! Very unprofessional wouldn’t offer me a refund. I sent them various emails and they ignored my requests. I’m very upset how I’ve been treated as well as the embarrassment. They didn’t want to put this right instead told me to use another company!! Please do not use this company they are only interested in scamming people for their money. I’m a pensioner and this was meant to be a lovely cake for my daughter.

If I could give them a zero star I would. We ordered a wedding cake with them, we made it clear that we needed to leave in the Saturday morning and we were promised deliver Friday. It never arrived. Appalling communication, my husband got so stressed with running around trying to determine what the issue was. Complete radio silence. Eventually we were told the cake was damaged in transit and it would be delivered early Saturday morning. Complete fabrication. The courier had never received the cake. The cake never arrived on Saturday and we had our wedding without a wedding cake. Absolutely awful customer service and communication from this company. It took 2 weeks for them to refund our money, it took declaring to the bank that we needed the bank to refund as no refund received. Eventually they did refund only prompted by this action.They ruined our day and did little to solve or communicate the truth of what happened to our cake. If they had been upfront with what the actual problem was we could have made arrangements on the Friday to have another cake made with another company. Stay well clear, dishonest, non communicative and unreliable.

I ordered a cake, but what I received was an absolute disaster. The cake looked like it had been thrown by the delivery guy. It arrived melted and damaged, bearing no resemblance whatsoever to the design I ordered.

I tried to salvage the design with some whipped cream I bought from the supermarket, but it only made things worse; the cake was completely ruined. The frosting on top was another catastrophe. It was so rubbery that when I tried to cut it, the entire layer came off the cake in one piece.

And now for the most important part: The taste. It was, quite simply, a disaster. I wouldn't order from them again, and I certainly wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else.

If you're thinking about buying anything from this company, be careful. Don't waste your time, and don't bother calling them; they don't answer the phone! You definitely don't want to go through this cake ordeal.

Great cake, exactly as ordered and very tasty. it was a tricky delivery as our address is not easy to find, but we got there in the end.

Good communication by phone and WhatsApp plus with the delivery driver.

The cake was a day late, but communication was good and fortunately ordered with a two day window, ahead of party for the delivery.

The cake itself was fantastic. I bought it for my son’s 18th. He’s a bit of a film buff so loved the film cake and everyone commented on it. We ordered the chocolate one, which was lovely too. I would have given 5 stars but just lowered it slightly because of the delivery issue. However, I’d have no hesitation ordering from here again..

Birthday cake delivered in perfect condition taste absolutely incredible so many people said it was the best birthday cake they have ever tasted the service when placing the order was amazing my experience was Baker Street was one of the best services I’ve ever received and have recommended to family and friends and will most definitely be ordering again my future cakes from them.

I have recently purchased an anniversary cake, which arrived damaged. Video evidence was provided, as the delivery driver threw the box with the cake in front of the house door. Caker street refused to respond to my many emails or even offer a refund or replacement. I have called them and they said they will get back in touch with me. It’s been 6 weeks and no one has responded or called to apologise. I will never order from Caker street again, as customer service is awful. Thank you!

I ordered a chanel cake back in November 2024 for my daughter’s 18th birthday.
The cake came slid to one side of the cake board. The chanel parts where broken in pieces, the whole of the writing with the birthday message was literally ruined. The bow part had a whole so wasnt able to hold the bow. I was devastated. The had the audacity to offer me 35% compensation of a cake i paid £130 odd for.

We are now in march 2025, and I have still NOT received my money. They was quick enough to contact me for a payment, but not quick enough to send my money back.

Im thinking to contact trader standards now.

Ordered a birthday cake for partner. When cake was delivered, internal box was damaged and cake not in one piece. Looked as if it was not completed either. Have emailed company three times with pix of damage to box and cake - no reply. Contacted via WhatsApp and message received that Caker St would escalate. Phoned three times and only response was to leave a message on answer system. No response yet from company. This is very poor service. I note that several others have left negative reviews and that little response is forthcoming. Be very careful when ordering anything from Caker Street.

UPDATE. I was promised partial refund 7 days ago; nothing had been paid, yet again reflecting the poor business practice of this company. I emailed Caker Street again and am now promised 60% refund. I await payment.
FINAL UPDATE. Only when I noted I would take legal action did Caker Street finally refund me. It is sad when a client has to resort to warning the company in this way, as I believe it could easily be more responsive to customer's genuine concerns. Such a pity!

Caker street is my go to when it comes to occasions and birthdays cake, I love their cake and I ordered every year for my events.

So the cake was very small, a little moved to the side and part of it was damaged, I did not received the toppers I paid for and they didn't refund me as well and for all of this I paid 65£. Avoid at any cost you can really order a better quality cake for cheaper price.
