Purchased 2 National Hives which arrived very promptly. Landing boards were ordered but missed the first shipment. Peter acknowledged very promptly and they arrived within 2 days. Great service.

I purchased a large variety of hive equipment. I then altered the order and when it arrived a different item had been missed out.
Pete responded immediately and sent the missing foundation straight away accompanied by an email . Very personal and helpful customer service, hugely appreciated quick turn around and good communication throughout.
Excellent quality supplies, had not ordered with them before but certainly will again. Highly recommend.

I purchased a Langstroth Hive Roof earlier this year and am delighted with it so well made in Canadian Cedar with good ventilation.
The bees will enjoy it and hope to order more in 2026 when available!

Purchased 2 and i’m very pleased with the quality. They look great.
I treated mine with non toxic oil to preserve the life of the hives.

Purchased several items ftom Caddon Hives, the latest item being a complete National Hive with a gabled roof.
Easy to order and received confirmation straight away. Only took 3 days to be delivered.
All parts were nicely cut and fairly easy to assemble, instructions were adequate for straight forward flat pack assembly.
Ended up with very good quality hive at a competitive price, better quality and value than most, and buying from a UK family business as a bonus.

i had Poly and English Cedar hives, I was looking for Western cedar hives and came across this company. i would say that are great value, mostly very well made, with the occasional minor error. Far better than many others let alone buying a second/grade B hive from others.
There web site is easy to navigate and buy from.
The Benefits of choosing western cedar are light weight (when compared to Pine) minimal Knots when compared to Pine or English Cedar and longevity.
Poly hives are lighter but much more susceptible to damage and certain pests
I choose to glue and screw (stainless steel) mine together rather than nail, then oiled them in natural non toxic pure tung oil both to bring out some wonderful colour and to extend the life.
if you have a problem i found Caddon Hives respond quickly and address the issue promptly.
Wood is a natural material and does move and as such at times you have to work harder to assemble it. As long as you have some experience in working with wood, buy flat packed and enjoy the experience of assembling your hives whilst saving yourself a bit of money. The are a few tricky bits but the instructions are clear just study carefully before you start

Fantastic service and great communication with the guys at Caddon Hives. The hive parts I ordered are very good quality and great value compared to other suppliers. Caddon will certainly be my first port of call when I need more equipment which seems to be a never ending exercise for beekeepers!

I brought my first Caddon Hive in 2011 when I started my beekeeping journey. Now 13 years later I am a bee farmer and still purchase all my hives from Caddons. The quality of the hives is superb and the hives purchased in my first few years are still as good as new and going strong. Normally I would buy flat pack but my latest purchase came fully assembled to save me time. Excellent service as always and an excellent product.

I ordered an assembled National hive and stand, and some flat-packed frames. All were very good quality and well put together. A slight mix up with a missing Crown Board was very easily resolved and another sent out immediately after I notified Caddon Hives - it arrived the next day.

I purchased a BS National Western Cedar hive with a gabled roof and it is beautifully made with quality touches like metal rails in the brood and super boxes.
