I was shipped different shoes than my order -- twice -- and was informed by Ecco that I would have to pay the return postage. I wrote a letter to the company. No reply.

$180 Sandals broken after a few months

I bought a pair of sandals in july 2023.
After only a couple of months of use, last summer and this summer, the insoles are completely cracked. This is really frustrating for a pair of sandals that retailed $180. I made a really average use of it, nothing out of the ordinary, walking around in the city. I didn’t use any unrecommended products. I have many other pairs of less expensive sandals that are still in perfect condition after 5-10 years. I don’t mind paying more for shoes but I expect good quality. Soles that are completely destroyed after a total of less than 6 months of use (because they were stored for the whole winter time) is not an acceptable quality in my opinion.
Customer service told me nothing can be done because I bought it 14 months ago (so pass their 1 year warranty) and to bring my shoes to a shoe repair shop. What a bad quality and, above all, what a terrible customer servive. They won’t see my money again.

Weird sizing

Weird sizing. Either the shoe is size 5 or 5 1/2. If you are selling it as 5-51/2 it has to be 5 1/4 and fits neither. It was ok on carpet in the shop and at home but not when walking on pavement for any length of time. Of course, after wearing it outside you cannot return. Waste of £135. Taking it to charity shop after leaving them in the shoe cupboard. Will not be going to Ecco again. I have estimated the date of purchase.

Black dye releases from sandal materials onto your feet!!

Note: these Yuccatan Ecco sandals started releasing a black dye onto my feet after I had worn them for a while. I provided Ecco with a picture of my feet after only wearing them for one hour, usually my feet looked much worse if worn for the entire day. The dye embeds itself into the skin on both top and bottom of feet, and can only be scrubbed off using a pumice stone as it permanently dyes the skin. Think this a serious problem with production quality control of this product. Note it has been a comfortable sandal, but believe it could be a health and safety concern especially if someone is allergic to dyes. Reached out to Ecco Canada to explain the problem, but due to buying the shoes and not wearing them till summer which allowed for the 1 year warranty to expire as it fell on deaf ears.

Ecco products now poor - customer service non existent

I have an expensive pair of Ecco boots purchased in the UK and the heels have totally disintegrated and are now only fit for the dustbin, even though they have had virtually no wear. I followed the Ecco process to inform Customer Services of the problem, sending photos etc and got no replies - ZERO customer service. My family have previously been Ecco fans but we will not be buying Ecco products ever again as they are no longer made fit for purpose.

Bought 2 pairs of ECCO leather shoes…

Bought 2 pairs of ECCO leather shoes sometime back, not sure when, it might have been one year or so ago.

I started using them recently for the last several months. Both pairs' bottom support kind of started disintegrating,

its edges systematically breaking off, and the whole bottom piece looks like it is soon coming apart from the top part.

This is quite unusual as the top part still looks brand new and I had worn them with care for work only for the past several months. Quite disappointing for the price paid for a so-called premium brand. One would have expected such shoes to last longer.

I emailed Ecco Singapore with a simple request for it to make good what I felt was a quality disappointment. Ecco asked many questions including proof of purchase, when bought, from where, etc. One would have thought Ecco shop would have captured the data via their electronic sales system that they are quizzing me now, failing which they would not proceed to entertain my request. I am even on Ecco's mailing list and it regularly emailed updates on its products  I would not have kept the data nor the invoice/receipts as these are just shoes, not cars or equipment that comes with warranties.

Taking a legalistic approach instead of trying to figure out why their product failed to deliver customer satisfaction, Ecco seems more interested in brushing off and disclaim responsibility for their defective shoes.

Hope that by sharing this bad experience that I had with Ecco shoes and the brushing-off attitude of its aftersales service, everyone is wiser and more discerning to stay clear of this particular brand.

I even offered to bring and show the shoes to any of Ecco outlets in Singapore but they instead insisted on photos of the defective shoes and proof of purchase before they would entertain my request. I do not think Ecco is sincere in delivering quality in both its product and after-sales service, nor is it interested in building a good reputation.

Their shoes fall apart whether you wear them or not

I used to buy a lot of Ecco shoes, A few years ago I had some very expensive Ecco Gore-Tex walking shoes which I never used and stored in a bedroom cupboard. When I finally wanted to use them I found that the soles had turned to a soft nougat consistency. Lots of hassle to get Ecco to do anything and I ended up with no walking shoes! I have many shoes most of which are not Ecco but occassionally I have used some stone leather Eccos for my supermarket trips. Last week I found patches of a black powdery material on my carpets. I found that it came from detached and disintegrating black inserts in the base of the shoes. Both shoes affected! The shoes had little use but were a few years old. They had to be binned as the soles had fallen apart.
I can't be bothered with the poor customer service of Ecco and will continue my policy of avoiding their poor quality shoes.

Ecco Biom H4 - Terrible

I bought a pair of Ecco golf shoes, noting Ecco golf shoes are arguably the most expensive golf shoe on the market. I had my Biom H4 near six months . I have never owned a pair of shoes with such poor quality. In this time the soles has turned yellow , leather (don't know if you can call it leather) faded on toe (scuff) , Don’t buy this shoes it is not worth the money. To top it off , the lace tie mechanism stripped within the 3 rd use, took Ecco near 4 weeks to replace

Ecco website is rubbish…

Is anyone else having problems navigating with the new Ecco website? I find it impossible it does its own thing or freezes and doesn’t. Flipping waste of time

Know your exact size or you will not get your money back.

Don’t buy Ecco shoes unless you know your exact size. I purchased two pairs separately white and two days later I purchased a second pair black for my mom. I realized (idiot) it’s European size and purchased half size to big. I paid $23,86 to ship each pair back which cost me a total of $47.72 out of pocket. Ecco said I need to provide the post office receipt and the email, which I did. Four days later I received one refund $80. I waited a week for my second refund which never showed up. I contacted Ecco again and they said
I need the actual order number which I can’t find but they can see my two purchases on line. I sent them my bank statement showing my two purchases but still not good enough. They are giving me the run around, what a disappointment. So I’m out $47.72 for both returns and $80 for one pair. I saw the Ecco shoes on Goof Morning America which looked like a great deal. What a mistake next I will be contacting GMA.

I've been an Ecco loyalist for the past…

I've been an Ecco loyalist for the past 10-15 years, but the last few pairs I've purchased have been significantly lower quality. Poorer and poorer quality leather. The sole seems spongy and not like they used to be.

Also, dealing with their customer service used to be great, but recently, they are very, very nasty and are more interested in sticking you with fees than standing behind the quality of their products.

Very sad when a once great brand starts shooting their loyal customers in the foot (pun intended) with poor quality/service to save a few bucks.

Ecco Canada Customer Service - Terrible

Ecco Canada Customer Service is terrible. I agree with the other reviews re: customers service and responses that are passive and unhelpful. A pair of boots were delivered to me that were quite obviously used and had a significant amount of salt staining from outdoor usage. I attended a store in person to return them and was met with the most unhelpful employee I have ever crossed paths with. The employees had just been informed that Ecco was closing that location and that they would be out of a job imminently. Employees could take a position at another Ecco location, which is a significant distance away and too far to commute. Why do I know all this? Because of the debate that ensued upon being told that they were ‘getting rid of shoes now, not taking them back’, despite me repeatedly telling the disgruntled employee that online customer service advised me, in writing, that any store would accept an in person return. The employee was extremely rude and unhelpful. I asked the online customer service to have a supervisor call me and I’m still waiting for that call. It’s been a few weeks now since my initial contact with them. There has been a significant decline in Ecco customer service. From the individual who packaged those boots for shipment to the online customer service, to the in-store employee. I would rate my interactions with them a zero if I could.

Ecco Canada has a lot to learn about…

Ecco Canada has a lot to learn about customer service. First of all, they will not issue a return shipping label, so not only will they charge you to ship the product (depending on the amount of your purchase), you have to pay to return the items. This is not clear on the website. I live 10 minutes from the return depot. I asked if I could drop off the return, rather than incurring shipping costs. Nope - no way - that would be way to easy for the customer. While someone does respond via email, they are little robots that simply write back and tell you f off in a nice, passive way. No real effort to assist the customer. I returned the shoes because the price did not reflect the quality of the materials and construction. No value here. Buy your shoes elsewhere.

Terrible customer service!

I purchased a shoe from ECCO USA around 9 weeks ago. They charged my credit card and after a few days, I received a UPS tracking number. It indicates that a label was created, and a delivery date be provided ASAP. After waiting more than 2 months, I never received the item. I contacted the ECOO USA customer service. They are not helpful at all. It seems that customers not receiving their packages is pretty normal for their company. And more interestingly they told me that according to their policy, they cannot send the item for me because more than 30 days have passed!!! Do NOT purchase any item from ECOO USA. Here is the reference number of my correspondence with their customer service:
