The service provided by Buycycle is…

The service provided by Buycycle is truly excellent. The only downside is that some buyers have realized that by reporting made-up defects after receiving the bike, they can obtain discounts that they would not have been able to get during the normal negotiation process.
This is already the second time that, in order to receive payment, I have had to give the buyer an additional discount for defects that were invented. This is not a positive situation.

Feels like a scam – no bike, no refund, no answers

I bought a bike through Buycycle twice and both times I had problems.

The first time, the app was constantly crashing when I was trying to arrange everything with the seller, which made the process really frustrating.

The second time was much worse. They took my money but I never got clear information about when I would receive my bike. First they told me they didn’t have shipping boxes available to send to the seller, then they had problems with the logistics company several times and the bike was never collected.

It has now been more than a month since they charged me (several thousand euros...) and I still don’t have the bike or my money back.

Their customer support is really poor. You can only open a ticket through the platform, wait several days for an answer, and most of the time you just receive a generic reply that doesn’t fix anything.

I have contacted them several more times asking for a solution and now they have simply stopped replying.

I definitely don’t recommend buying through this app. Be careful because you can end up without your bike and without your money.

Sold bike within a week

Overall, good experience. Was able to sell my bike within a week. Only downside was that I think the instructions for how to pack my bike in the box could’ve been better.

This is a serious

This is a serious, reliable site with a lot of stuff on offer. In my honest opinion, the Buyer Protection feature seems to be very helpful. To further improve your service: it would be good to be able to pay via bank-transfer.

No support, no communication, and serious delays

Summary
-Expect significant delays in packaging and shipping.
-The platform has no real customer support (no email, no responsive chat only an unreliable in-app messaging system)

-On Apple devices, the website and app frequently freeze or behave inconsistently
(Use Google Chrome instead of Safari to avoid some technical issues)
-Sellers may have excessive time to ship items, with unclear enforcement of deadlines
-Overall lack of transparency and communication throughout the process
My experience:
At first, Buycycle looks like a professional website with a great design, but in reality almost every function has serious issues. If you run into a problem, you will have a very bad experience because there is no proper support system. They don’t use email support instead, there is only an in-app “message” feature. (On iPhone app, I couldn’t even properly send messages through it). You also cannot track or review your sent messages to the support, and there is no real chat system with them. You just send a message and then it disappears from your view, hoping someone will eventually read it. There is no feedback, no responses just silence, and you are left hoping that your issue is being handled.
In my case, I ordered a bicycle on April 20 and used their “secure payment” system, meaning the seller does not receive the money immediately. The seller accepted the order almost right away. (This was not an intercontinental shipment, but within Europe, so these delays are not justifiable at all. Even if it had been intercontinental, the delays would still be far too long.) The first issue came when the original shipping date was supposed to be May 4, when the package should have been sent to me. Instead, the packiging/box for the seller only arrived to him on May 15.
After that, I waited for a new shipping date, but nothing happened. I contacted the seller, but received no response. Then I contacted support because nothing was moving and I couldn't see any information. Support then sent a message to the seller in the same chat asking them to set a shipping date. A few days later, on June 3, the seller wrote that they had already sold the bike elsewhere. I contacted support again, but instead of immediately cancelling the transaction, the seller was still allowed to set another pickup date which they obviously did not fulfill.
On June 8, the status changed to “transaction cancelled, the money will be refunded.” However, on June 9, after already waiting 50 days for nothing, I received a message from Buycycle saying: “the claim has been canceled and the order is now complete. The seller's payout has been released, and no further action is needed.”
I am still hoping this is just a bug, but this is where things currently stand. During the whole process I sent multiple messages to support and received absolutely no response. Not even a simple “we are looking into it.” I tried to remain patient and respectful the entire time, but I received nothing in return. Now I am hoping I will get my money back, but based on this experience, even that may take a long time.
There is also a complete lack of transparency and basic customer care. If I have to pay instantly, then payments should be handled instantly on their side as well. Since I paid in a non-euro currency, there is also likely to be some exchange rate loss due to the long delay. It’s not a huge amount, but between transaction fees and currency conversion, I will likely lose around 35–40 euros due to issues caused by the system, seller and not me.
Also, I don’t understand why sellers are allowed to delay shipping that long. The whole process feels unregulated and unclear.
On top of that, the platform itself has technical issues: Apple products often cause the site to freeze, and in the app messages and saved listings frequently do not load. The filtering system is also unreliable.
As a suggestion, I recommend not using Safari on Apple devices use Chrome instead, as it seems to work more reliably without these issues.
If Buycycle support sees this review, please contact me and help resolve this issue. I have been trying to get clear information about my refund and my case without success.

Smooth, fast, and trustworthy experience

My experience with buycycle was excellent from start to finish. The whole process was quick, simple, and exactly as described. Everything went smoothly, and all parties did what they were supposed to do. I have complete trust in the buycycle platform and felt confident throughout the transaction. I would definitely recommend buycycle to anyone looking to buy or sell a bike safely and easily

Refund not received

I purchased a pair of wheels through Buycycle on May 7.

Timeline:

*May 7:Order placed.
* The seller had 48 hours to accept the sale, which they did.
* According to Buycycle's process, the seller then had 10 days to ship the item. If the seller fails to ship, Buycycle states on its website that a refund will be issued from the secured account within 10 days.
* Based on this timeline, I should have received my refund no later than May 17.

When the refund had not arrived by then, I contacted Buycycle. They told me it would be processed as soon as possible.

I then waited another 14 days before contacting them again on May 29, as I still had not received my money. They created a support ticket and assured me the matter was being taken seriously.

Today, June 6, exactly one month after I placed the order, I contacted them once more because I still have not received my refund.

To be clear, Buycycle cannot control whether a seller ships an item or not. However, they are responsible for handling refunds, and in my case they have not met the refund timeline described on their own website.

If you cannot afford to have your money tied up for a month or longer without receiving either the product or a refund, you may want to think carefully before using Buycycle.

At this point, I am still waiting to see if I will receive my money at all.

Exactly as described

Found a great bike, bought it and received it in very good condition. It’s especially great for shorter or taller. People who have less choice in their local market for used bikes. Would absolutely use it again.
