This place is either a scam or they have no idea how to work electronics. I sent in through Backmarket my iPad Pro. It’s in pristine condition and works perfectly.

Backmarket offered $811. Knowing electronics I knew this was too high but the reviews were good so I figured even if they offered less it should have still been the original amount I expected.

In a week (quick) they sent me a counter offer. They stated my iPad does not turn on or turns off unexpectedly. Are you kidding me? Then they offered me $231. I refused the offer and had them send it back. Yes it was sent back for free, best be since they lied about the product’s functionality.

Got my iPad back. Battery was dead because it’s been freezing here. I could feel that the box was even cold. Batteries+cold=drained. I charged it. Came right on. No shut offs. They did put it in accessibility mode. Which is why I presume they thought it just shuts off. Should they be taking trade ins if they can’t figure out how to simply hit the power button 3 times to turn the mode back off?

Absolutely the worst experience!

I sent in two separate packages, one iPad Air 2 and a Panasonic lumix camera. My camera, worth more, was inspected first and I was notified via email that it passed inspection and again when they sent money to my PayPal account. I never received the money. My iPad was inspected a week later, the quote readjusted and accepted, then I was emailed when they sent the money. It was immediately available in my PayPal, so I know the issue isn’t on PayPal’s end. I have sent THREE emails in the past TWO MONTHS to customer service and haven’t heard any response. When I log into my buybackworld account, only my iPad order shows in the history. The complete lack of customer service is beyond maddening.

Told me my pristine iPhone, that had been in a case and had screen protection the entire time, had considerable scratches. So they lowered the new offer considerably; I asked them to send it back to me. UPDATE: After I reminded them about the above, I received photos showing the now flawless reassessment. Three barely perceptible specs had been downgraded from considerable scratches to flawless? I followed a number of great reviews here so mistakes happen, however, some of the poor reviews seem very similar to my issue. That’s what concerns me…..

Easy to find an estimate. Easy to print a shipping label. Packaged up and sent from my local post office. Email updates as to the status and fast payment. Just an easy overall experience.

They made it so easy to sell my phone. I was not sure about sending through the mail or if they would hold up their end of the agreement, but they did. It was fast and painless.

I've bought a few devices from them. They have a good quality control and fair pricing. Highly recommend!

This company is one of the most dishonest, unprofessional, cunning, decieving, companys i have ever dealt with. They stole my brand new SAMSUNG GALAXY S9 in what was supposed to be an agreement for them to pay me for my phone once they recieved it, and they provided a prepaid shipping label and I put it on and shipped it out via ups and tracked it until they recieved it. Well 3 weeks go by with no attempt to pay me, and long story short it's been almost 2 months and I have not recieved a dime for my phone they stole from me who trusted them to fulfill our agreement yet they have emailed me back and forth over 20 times and in every new email is a new lie and made up excuse about how they dont have it even though ups confirmed they in fact recieved it and just lie after lie after lie they jacked me succesfully, and I am out a brand new phone and any money I could have got for selling it elsewhere... I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GOING ANYWHERE NEAR THESE CROOKS AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO ONE OF THEIR BETTER KNOWN COMPETITORS WHERE I HAVE SOLD 3 PHONES TO THEM AND ALWAYS GOT PAID IMMEDIATELY! TRUST ME IT'S A HORRIBLE AND STUPID FEELING FINDING OUT I GOT CONNED AND STOLEN FROM BUYBCKWORLD, BUT I HOPE WITH THIS REVIEW IT COULD SAVE OTHERS FROM HAVING THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO THEM. BUYBACKWORLD IS DESPICABLE.

Edit, 4-18-23: Another great experience. Sent them 2 old iPods. Fair price, no hassles, quick payment.

They gave me a fair quote for my 160 GB iPod Classic. They emailed at every step of the way- receipt, inspection, and payment. They paid the full amount quoted, and did it with 2 days of inspection. Quick and hassle-free transaction.

Looking thru my old Gmails, I see they also bought my used Tivo a few years back. Paid 3 days after inspection. I should have given them a good review then. Belated thumbs up!

I do not recommend using BuyBackWorld for brand new, still wrapped in cellophane items. I sent in 2 Apple pencils in good faith, and they sent a revised offer stating the pencils weren’t in the condition (brand new) the offer was based upon. When I asked why they weren’t considered brand new, as they were still sealed in cellphone, they sent photos as “proof” that the items were not in brand new condition. The photos were taken *after* BBW had removed the cellophane, opened the boxes, and tested the pencils’ functionality (upon return, they both have stickers saying they are 100% functional).
The offer and shipping process is super easy, but the Apple pencils are now worth significantly less because BBW removed the cellophane.

I had an offer for a used phone for $75. The phone was very lightly used and sent to them in the original packaging. The phone had no marks and was fully functional. After sending the phone to them, they dropped the offer to $50. Very poor and misleading business practices.

I sent a cellphone that I never used in its original box because BuyBackWorld sent me an estimate of $10 for my phone. I received a check for 25 cents.

I haven't read reviews regarding sending them graphics cards or computer parts so I thought I'd leave one here so maybe I can save the next person from wasting their time.

I used their website and got a quote for $160 for a 5700 XT. Thought that was a fair price so they can make money and I get some cash. Printed the label and shipped the card to them. All is well until a week later when they came back with a $60 offer because during their test the card was faulty....

"A faulty GPU/Video Chip (blank green screen randomly appears) computer needs to restarts to go normal boot-up) GPU starts to overheats for a short period we run benchmark."

I rejected their revised offer and got the card shipped back. Once I have it back, installed it and ran 3DMARK Fire Strike Extreme with zero issues.

Card temp saw max of 76 and averaged 66 during the benchmark. Benchmark was ran at 1080p. Never had any green screen issue or had to reboot for any reason.

Its also odd to me that if the card during their test was faulty but yet still made me a revised offer to buy a broken card. This seems pretty clear that they lure you in with a fair price on their site and once they receive your item, they revise it.

The experience was great and fast. I like the PayPal option for secure transfer of funds.

Great place to send your old tablets to get them out of your house and get some cash. Easy to follow instructions and cash in my PayPal within a few days after they received them. Will use BuyBackWorld again.

Simple way to get rid of old electronics and maybe make a buck or two back at least. Won't get as much doing a private sale, which is your trade off for a hassle free transaction. Using them for years and will continue to use.

I have been using BuyBackWorld since 2016 and love it! It's easy to use, and the prices they pay for my used iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches are extremely competitive with (most times being better) all other online places including Apple. Highly Recommended!

This is my second or third time selling my used electronics to Buy Back World. I deal with them for two compelling reasons: easy to sell and at a fair price.

Easy to sell because they make the offer and provide the packaging. I found their offers were better than others, they did not reduce the price and the box they sent was easy to use to send my electronics. They also communicated each step of the way, ie. when they received, as they evaluated, and my money arrived quickly.
