I was in the market to sell my daughter's iPhone 14 and by her the iPhone 17. I have never used a site or even try selling previous electronics. From my first inquiry all the way until I receive payment, hands down the best company I could have ever worked with. I was sketchy and anytime that I sent a message, immediately I received a response from different people giving me a peace of mind that the worst thing that could happen is that they don't give me the value for my phone and gave me the option to sell at that price or return my device. I received exactly the amount that they initially said I would receive if my phone checked out to be everything that I said it was.

Seems the iphone was lost before inspection but buybackboss paid in full
I used Buyback Boss for an iphone trade in and had a very frustrating experience. Tracking showed the package was delivered, the confirmed they received it to later say the package arrived empty and asked me for the device IMEI. Payment was never received and I lost the iphone.
I have photos and documentation from before shipping. I would recommend anyone considering their service to stay away. Better sell to another reputed service provider for a few less dollars than risk losing your device. If this gets resolved promptly, I will update this review.

Bait and switch if connecting through third party websites
If you sell to buyback boss through cellsell or similar websites, buyback boss will bait and switch you and offer a tiny fraction of what you were offered because they list different criteria for condition. If your phone is older and has regular battery wear, they will mark it as defective and rip you off. I’ve been told they will ship it back to you for free, but I have yet to hear back from them.

Customer support has responded. After 4 or so emails, and 2 more lowball offers they agreed to send the phone back to me without charging shipping. That is a good policy that certainly earns it another star.
If you sell to buyback boss, go through their website, not a third party site like sellcell. Buyback boss does have very competitive payouts, but much more strict criteria than others, so you will be sorely disappointed with your offer afterwards if you do. To their credit, their website is more transparent. I can only however give them 3 stars, because the treatment of battery health is just silly and antiquated. Any phone reseller/refurbisher should be shipping every phone they resell with a new battery unless the phone is almost new, so what they do now is just bad business.

SCAM! Read reviews, too many of the same scam
I have used them so many times in the past... something has changed big time! I was quoted $401 for my iPhone 14 Pro Max, that was in almost brand new condition. When they got it they claimed it had "dark spots from the camera lens". They sent photos of photos they had taken with the device, so they say. They claimed it was dust on the lens, yet the spot was in different areas in each photo. I have now seen other reviews with the exact same situation. BEWARE! They are a scam!!!! They wanted to offer me $120 for it after that. Then I told them I wanted it back, they were very pushy to let them reevaluate it, which took over a week, before I demanded it back 3 more times before they finally agreed to send it back! DO NOT USE BUYBACKBOSS EVER!!!!! When I did get it back I sent it to Buy Back Tronics, and it was great, no issues at all, very quick, and got even more than my original quote from Buybackboss. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THE SCAMMERS AT BUYBACK BOSS! Lost a customer of over 10 years because of this, and the other reviews that mention the exact same SCAM!!!

The camera spots can be seen in different camera settings like in portrait mode or slow motion for example but are not as prominent in all settings. However, to make sure all future customers are aware of any potential flaws, we have to do our due diligence to check for all functional and cosmetic features of a device. However, I understand that this was a deeply upsetting experience for you and I hope to earn your business back for future transactions.
I would be happy to reach a resolution that best suits your satisfaction. I understand that you have already sold your device to another buyer, but I have sent you an email and would greatly appreciate learning more about you, your experience, and how we can make it right for you.

They had the highest buy back price that I could find. My phone was in excellent condition. They made it easy to ship the phone to them and they were initially very communicative. When they received the phone, they gave me a low-ball offer and mentioned that it was due to scratches which the phone did not have. I asked them for a photo of the phone and they sent me a photo of someone else's phone. I asked them for additional photos and they mentioned the phone was already put into their inventory. I took their offer knowing I would not receive my phone back. 12/18 Review Update: They reached out to me to address my concerns and I am satisfied with how they responded. I appreciate their follow-up and resolution and changed stars from 1 to 3. I wish they handled it this well from the beginning.

We mentioned in our email to you that unfortunately, due to a few scratches on the screen that could be seen at arm's length, your order was graded into our Average condition category. We specifically differentiate between Good and Average condition categories on our website by noting whether the scratch can be seen at arm's length or if there are multiple light scratches present. We are always happy to provide photos of our findings and additional support to our customers regarding their orders as well as free fast returns for customers that are dissatisfied for any reason. Since we had already been approved to process your order for payment, your device moved to our inventory and we queued your payment. We were able to catch your phone before it resold upon the first request for photos, but by the time we were requested to provide photos of the back of your device, the device had already sold. I very sorry that we proceeded with your payment without making additional efforts to ensure that you were more satisfied with your evaluation and transaction.
