butter i used for years never missed a payment. now they closed my acount and offers me £115 compensation out of the blue for no reason? i never asked for it i just got an email stating they owed it me! still to this day i don’t no why i got this and no explanation? i’m questing they havnt been playing but the book and maybe owe all there customers compensation for some reason. i think this is why they have closed down as they may have taken more money from people than what they ward meant to on the monthly payments.
i’m taking this further as i’m not sure if the compo is for leaked personal details.
if they don’t tell me why then i’ll find out myself

Been a butter customer since the start. always on time. built my credit limit up . then they stopped lending saying they were doing some improvements , then, out of no where shut down my account. no reason given. assume they're closing down.
Terrible company
Terrible company. Had an account for ages and they were forever cutting me off from using their service even though I’d never missed a payment. Half the time I did try to use it the app was down or they were not accepting shopping services. Today they sent me an email saying they were terminating my contract with them even though I’m supposedly a valued customer. No reason was given as to why I’m being terminated but I guess it’s because I gave up months ago on their horrible service and they want me off their records. Good riddance. To anybody out there looking into using them don’t. There are much better services out there that offer a better and more trustworthy service that don’t treat you like scum because you are paying in instalments.
This business is just awfully ran
This business is just awfully ran. You can't use butter at the moment, and it's been like that for a year....they have no idea where their business is headed! To illustrate my point, at the time of writing, their homepage has not one BUT TWO disclaimers on it! The first says we aren't accepting new applications, and this has been the case for a very, very long time! The second says we're reviewing several customer accounts.... several is generally seen as 3 plus. What they mean is they're reviewing hundreds of accounts and closing the ones they deem a credit risk. And they've been doing this since for years. I think it's likely they have a policy to review/re credit check accounts periodically and dispose of the ones whose credit status have changed. All in all my personal opinion is that this business has no clear direction and is financially under funded.

I was a loyal customer, never missed a payment, always paid on time, then my account went under review and couldn't use it again and was highly disappointed. So I asked them to close my account, no point keeping it open if I cannot use it.
When I was a customer, I would say that my experience was nothing but great when I was with Butter and was with them before their name changed.

Same as other reviews I have been a customer for a while always paid on time. Once I cleared my account in full, the app has been under review for the past year and I can no longer use. Why aren’t they being honest about why we can no longer use???
Shameful and disloyal company
I have been a loyal customer for a few years, everything was paid on time.
Out of nowhere it states it’s under review and I now cannot use my account.
When I contact them I just get generic pasted answers back with no way to deal with a decent human being.
I’m not the only one to be going through this as I can see others have too, they are ruining their reputation and penalising loyal customers.
Shameful company to say the least.

I’ve never had a bad experience to date. Their customer service is excellent especially Hanna and Will. However, they’ve been down for almost and year with no explanation as to when they’ll be up. It would be good if they could just update their valued customers as to when they’ll be back up and running.

Was all great. But I keep hearing they've gone bust....? Seems strange they stopped operating apart from collections. Cancelling account etc, etc....shame really. Hope it's not true...?

The same as everyone here. Good track record on payments, exemplary customer, only for my limit to be removed. When I talk to them, it’s literally making me feel awful - they basically say that they don’t care about any of that is just their process. Proof is in the pudding, why penalise good customers out of the blue.
