Been Spamming Our Company Email.

Why would you pay for a Business Award? What a load of nonsense. Either go find something else to do or give this rubbish up because this is going to lead you to one place only and that is JAIL!!!

Mthomas at getbusinessaward dot co dot…

Mthomas at getbusinessaward dot co dot uk spam sus every other month or so to promote this to what is perceived as a new company but we have seen this type of scam before. I do not know where they get the images of happy winners from but if I paid £450 for a lump of glass I would be pretty unhappy. their website is a mess and so their social media will be no better.

First and foremost: Spammers. Avoid

A Mark Thomas representing this organisation is conducting a spam campaign to promote them.

I don’t have anything to do with any company to which this might be relevant, so he seems to have got my details from a purchased spammers list.

If I were a legitimate company, I’d be very cautious about reviewing an award from a body that promotes itself using spam. Not an association I’d seek!

Scam

Please don’t fall for this scam! If you can’t already tell by the amount of spelling mistakes on their website and poor grammar. As someone else mentioned it certainly is a vanity award and they are preying on small businesses.
An award should celebrate a success and not be paid for!

Not legit.

Got told as a business we had won a national award which was initially very impressive. To receive the award would cost around £450 (includes social media marketing etc) . When we reviewed the site, firstly they are stated to be in two different addresses, one on Google maps shows an empty field as the location, the second some derelict looking building in the suburbs of Doncaster (where the name of the company does not feature either and there are other businesses there) . they do not offer just national awards, but regional awards too, and within these demographics, they then have every job/businesses type imaginable as a separate sub group. Essentially, they find your business, tell you youve won an award (you havnt) and you pay them £450 for the pleasure.
It's a vanity award. We didnt want an undeserved award, so have not parted with our cash. If you want free advertising, go ahead.

Hi Adam,
First of all, allow us to apologise for any misunderstanding you may be under. We do not'find businesses'. Businesses choose to enter our awards, including some well known names such as HSBC and Vodafone etc. We did not 'find' your business. You entered, using your own name and details on 01/07/25. All fees are fully transparent, even before entry. We do not hide any of our costs. You are judged by an independent panel against the other entrants in your chosen categories. Had you emailed or called us, I could have happily sent a copy of your entry over to you as I think you may be confusing us with another company. The company you are referring to on Google Maps is not us, this is another company with a similar, yet different name. We have requested this be updated but have not yet had a reply. I am sorry the offices do not seem up to your standard. We are indeed based in Doncaster, however with a remote team, and do not require our offices for any more than meetings and mail services.
We do cover a large number of industry sectors yes, which we are very proud of as one of the largest awards platforms in the UK.
I'm very sorry you changed your mind about your entry. We would have had no issue in removing your entry for you had you requested this.

I am aware of the vanity nature of these awards but they are fun to enter and do provide some attention to your business. Other awards the trophy may be free but the ticket to attend is high as is the meal so it is swings and roundabouts and no one forces anyone to. It a trophy or attend. Most of us are aware of what it is.

A fantastic award body!

I cannot comment this organization enough. They have been incredibly helpful in explaining the entry process and requirements for the various awards and categories and the continual communication on outcomes of the awards is excellent. The organization I work for were successfully shortlisted in some categories and luckily achieved overall winner status in some others. It is a fantastic opportunity to be benchmarked against the best in the industry and to be reviewed by a panel of expert judges. It is a great opportunity for organizations to showcase their efforts and to learn how they can improve. As they only charge award acceptance fees for overall winners (which are very reasonably priced) it makes the awards open to small organizations also and makes it easier for companies to participate. They are also fantastic and publicizing your achievements and getting the word out. I cannot recommend this organization and their wonderful staff enough.

Great company and they were very accommodating

I had a great experience of this company I'm so glad that the entry is free this leaves so many small businesses able to enter without the larger costs of other award organisations. The reason I applied to this one as it's a UK business award. They even gave me a discount for paying withing a certain time and were able to deliver my trophy to the address I asked.

As a small business I would apply again. I was surprised to have won best sustainable materials in the Manufacturing Awards for 2025!

Business Award winner

Winning a Business Awards UK title has been a real highlight for us. It acknowledged the hard work and progress our company has made. The process is clear, you choose your category, write up your entry based on their criteria, and then it’s over to the judges. If your entry makes the cut, you’re shortlisted and then hopefully you win. Fees only come into play if you actually win, and that’s all explained upfront. Recognition like this helps build credibility!

Everything was explained and I am a happy award winner!

The service I received from start to finish was excellent. I was delighted to have won an award and was thrilled to see that my application was judged based on the merits of my business and my achievements. Everything was explained very clearly from the outset and I knew exactly what was expected of me.

I have won an award from the Business…

I have won an award from the Business Awards UK and very proud of it.
I had to follow the criteria for the category I entered and write about myself and business accordingly.
This is then sent in and judged against others and then if you're lucky you get shortlisted and eventually lucky enough to win.
There is NO fee to enter like some awards and you are only asked to pay for the award if you win.
This is all explained as you enter and click the boxes saying you understand all of this.
I will be entering again next year as winning an award is great publicity for my business and hey who doesn't like winning.

Scam company.

I was contacted by UK Business Awards and informed that my business had “won” an award. However, it quickly became clear that this was nothing more than a vanity award scheme, where businesses are asked to pay for trophies, certificates, and other promotional materials.

Legitimate awards are based on merit, not on who is willing to pay a fee. There was no transparent judging process, no clear criteria, and no genuine recognition—just an invoice demanding payment. When I questioned the legitimacy, I was met with aggressive follow-ups including threatening ones mentioning CCJ and debt collection.

This is a misleading and unethical practice that preys on small businesses looking for credibility. I strongly advise others to steer clear and not waste their money on what is essentially a purchased title.

If you have been affected, I encourage you to report them to Trading Standards, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), and Action Fraud UK. Businesses deserve real recognition, not pay-to-win scams.

Hi Liam,

First of all, I am very sorry that you have had a negative experience with us. We did not inform your company out of the blue that you had won an award. You entered said award. You won one of the categories that you entered and accepted this, providing your details and signed terms and conditions. We do charge a fee, yes. This is fully transparent on our website and in all materials. This fee must be agreed to in order for the acceptance form to be processed, which it was. Unfortunately, as you explained to us when your invoice became overdue, you thought someone had completed this entry, using all of your personal details, on your behalf, and without you knowing. As a gesture of goodwill, we immediately cancelled this invoice for you, and advised you change passwords to your email account, considering this is where we sent the acceptance form.

Again, I'm very sorry you were not satisfied with your experience with us, and wish you all the best for the future.
