I received a warm welcome and received the rental lens in perfect condition. The employee advised me that if I bought the lens, I could get a refund. When I returned the lens, I received this advice again.

It was somewhat hard to get to reserve the item I wanted (it was my first time renting, and each time I wanted to verify my ID, the page would load as error). When I finally got it to work, I found out I had to pay a €500 borg as extra cost(this wasn't stated anywhere before renting). But the storeworker was very nice. So I'm giving it 4 stars.

unreliable and bad service

every time I make an order, items get canceled last minute on the day of pick-up. this happend at least 3 times already. every time they propose an alternative item but it is never even close to what I originally needed. and then I'm left hopeless, and I have to solve a problem Budgetcam creates. items listed on their website aren't even available. they're unreliable!

Support for Indie Project

Great Service and Flexibility, but Needs Better Local Availability and Testing Options

I’ve worked with Kamera Express Rental on several projects, and one thing I really appreciate is how quickly they adapt to our needs. The team is responsive, helpful, and efficient, which makes the rental process smooth — even when we’re working on tight deadlines.

That said, a few aspects could be improved. One major limitation is the lack of equipment testing beforehand. Too often, we receive gear that doesn’t fully match our expectations, simply because we couldn’t test it in advance to confirm it fits our setup.

Another recurring issue is that some of the equipment is based in the Netherlands and not readily available in Belgium, which can cause delays or force us to compromise with alternative solutions.

It would also be much more practical if we could directly contact the local shop where we’re renting — especially in Brussels — instead of always having to go through the central phone line in the Netherlands. Being able to speak with someone on-site would save time and avoid misunderstandings.

Overall, Kamera Express Rental offers solid service and a professional team, but a few key improvements could really elevate the experience for Belgian-based professionals.

Regarding your comments about testing equipment: it is possible to test gear in-store beforehand. You can create a test reservation and schedule an appointment through our customer service. This way, you can check on-site whether the equipment suits your setup and avoid any surprises on shoot days.

As for equipment availability in Belgium: all our gear can be transported to any desired location, provided the request is made on time. If you place your request by the morning of the day before (or earlier), we’ll ensure it goes out with the transport.

Lastly, we appreciate your suggestion about improving communication and will certainly take it into consideration.

Ghent´s leading AV Gear service…

Ghent´s leading AV Gear service provider. I would not change or look for any other service but these guys in the present or future.
The gear is 5 stars, all healthy and working, no issues what so ever.
Out point of contact - Max - was beyond helpful and friendly. Made every communication and process feel easy and professional, timely and respectful.
Lastly, I think that these guys should be seen as the customer service standard world-wide. They are attentive, they recognise any fault on the process and quickly action so that it´s back on track.
As an appendix, their delivery service was also 100% in quality. They were timely, cautious with the delivery and hand-over of the gear. And their transportation vehicles were prepped for safely travelling with the gear.
All and all, this is the only company we´re ever going to refer to anyone in Belgium/Ghent.
Thanks again, guys!

happy to say that I have become a regular client again

I have been using Budgetcam services for a couple of years now and have generally had many good experiences. However, in 2023, I had a terrible experience with their North location, which led me to avoid their services for a while.

This year, I decided to give Budgetcam another chance as I needed some gear. I chose to visit their Zuid location, and my experience was much better. Although they didn't have the specific equipment I booked on the website, they quickly found a solution by offering me an upgrade. The gear provided was excellent, and everything went smoothly.

Thanks to this positive experience, I am happy to say that I have become a regular client again

Worst customer service possible

The quality of the gear is fine, and the pick up process is easy. Without issues you will probably have a positive experience with Budgetcam, however, if any problems arise- this company is the worst to deal with. We rented a specific camera for a wedding shoot, and were downgraded to a camera of much lower quality without prior consultation. They should have upgraded us or contacted us for confirmation. Upon pick up there was nothing the distributing shop could do for us. When we filed a complaint afterwards, we received a 10% discount voucher on a next rental, and no apologies. Budgetcam assured us that they did nothing wrong. After repeated phone conversations they basically told us there was nothing they would do, no one we could speak to, and that we were complaining for the sake of it. We will NEVER rent with BudgetCam again. Please beware of their customer service before hiring equipment as it will save you lots of headache.

Bad service

They expect all the flexibility from you but do nothing back. The average time at customer service (7X call only 2 times connected is) ~20min.
So I was in line for 3hrs. before booking>
Then the camera was in Arnhem the rest in Eindhoven, and we could only pick the camera up the day after (no payback given)
I brought the equipment 1hr to late back (this was during the storm Polly) and they charged me a full day extra.
I could not advise you to work with them, the clearly do not want to work with people.
