Auctioneer was fabulous
Firstly I would like to thank the auctioneer for his sales techniques during the auction, he knows how to encourage bidding, giving everyone a chance to bid, even when it is clear bidding has come to an end. He is professional and very good at what he does!
I was selling a house. SDL updated me regularly in the two weeks prior to the auction, with details of any offers made, and how many people registered to bid.
They phoned straight after the auction had sold my house, to give a completion date.
I highly rate this company, the service I received was great!

Be careful of "off the wall" bidding
Comms are good and the sales rep was very knowledgeable (Thanks Steph)
Please be careful when bidding as SDL Property Auctions do "off the wall bidding" which means they purposely put bids in that aren't real to inflate the selling price - Stick to your budget and only bid what you think is right (They may come back to you after the auction)

We'd like to clarify that taking bids off the wall is an industry recognised practice which all auctioneers operate when offering lots for sale. We only do this below the reserve price, purely to encourage bidding and get the best price for our sellers, not to inflate the sale price.
We absolutely agree with your comment about sticking to your budget, that's essential when purchasing by auction. If you have done your research before the auction and set your budget then you should leave the auction happy, as we hope you have.

AVOID AVOID AVOID, Dealt with some unprofessional fool named Martin Cunningham, worst service ever, fails to keep you informed always having to try to chase him up (he will ignore your calls and forward you to voicemail) if you call SDl on the 0800 number they seem to have to check with martin and he's very rarely contactable (seems to go on annual leave a hell of a lot) the most you will get from him is a text at the end of the day saying he'll contact you the next day then doesn't, you have to chase him up again, Unless you have months of time to spare I would recommend using another service. He also fails to abide by his clients instructions, will pull your property from auction without consulting, fails to update himself on interest in your property, appalling service
