Amongst the worst airports serving an EU Capital. And they also pretend to be the European Capital!!! Incompetent personnel at the luggage controls and scanning devices probably dating back to 20 year... See more

The drop off and pickup system was as an emergency reaction to terrorist activity, but no one in management has ever taken the decision to actually implement a proper system. The road network is a nightmare. The airport facilities are in poor condition, toilets are invariably filthy. If you want an example of an extremely poorly managed facility, look no further than this airport. I have the unfortunate privilege of passing through here regularly. Clearly the management is either incompetent or uncaring to the needs of the paying public. Ques for non EU Travellers are extreme with a total of 4 booths/ staff to process thousands of thru passengers. These cues regulalry take 35-45 mins to clear. I am currently standing in front of the hopeless immigration officer who is having a lovely and in depth conversation with his colleagues and scrolling through his phone.
Ridiculous, management and a painful experience in general.
3.4 hour queue at airport arrivals, I’m told this is a regular occurrence so avoid this airport at all costs go by Eurostar instead
Brussels airport is not managed! Customers are not cared!
The Brussels airport from terminal A to B is a disaster!!! We missed flight to Montreal due to NO management of this airport! Happened 11.10.2025, missed flight AC833!!!
Dear All, please be informed that if you chose this airport as transfer to Canada or other oversee destination, DO NOT do it. We missed flight due to complete chaos at the passport check from terminal A (EU) to B (oversee), happened 11.10.2025. No management for disabled (travelling with mom of age 75, treating as others, no respect), que of more then 2,5 hours, no management to check priorities prior to on board time. Result - we just came to gate 15 min after closing!!! Just to see the airplane and tell him good bye. The staff at the que was not managed, creating chaos and completely arrogant. I am frequent flyer, but this I have never seen at Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, not mentioning others like Dubai, Hong Kong, Toronto, Chicago or even Instanbul.
Sorry to say, but if I would in the Brussels municipality - I would immediately FIRE the airport management! Such situation, such behaviour to customers is completely unacceptable!
Compensation - likely happy to have the next ticket for next flight 12.10.2025 compensated by airlines. BUT hotel cost for oversleep due to airport chaos? Lost time? If this feedback is really working, I expect a real big personal excuse from the airport general manager at least . Completely dissatisfied, disappointed and Brusseles never ever!

Worst airport I've been in last year's, rude employees and terrible organization of the security lines
Very arrogant security personnel and do racial profiling… very unprofessional and it seems they work with job students…
If you can avoid this airport.. do so!
Worst airport in whole of Europe, hours of queues for poorly managed customs control
The customs process at this airport consistently has the longest waiting times. In my ten years of traveling through it, I have never spent less than an hour and a half in line. Despite a recent renovation of the entry area, the experience has unfortunately become even worse.
Horrible experience at Brussels Airport on 10/8/2025. Scheduled two and a half hours before plane departure time in the airport but still late on boarding. Lines for security check were super long. In our line, many carry-on luggages need to go for human inspection which took forever. Very inefficient. Then followed by long line at custom/border control. Along the way, heard many people saying" I will miss my flight". 10 minutes before our plane departure time, we were still in the queue for passport checking. When we asked airport staffs (multiple times) for help, the answer was always "there's nothing I can do". This airport (management) does NOT care about travelers. They would not listen to you when you ask for help. I love traveling and had been to many airports. Brussels Airport is by far the worst of all.
Non eu passport make sure your 3 hours before departure arrive because leaving or entering Brussel is a disaster only two people at immigration no fast track for gold or business. A long que no toilets in between I’m waiting 2 hours for this!!
Worst airport in Europe for sure!!
Awfull. Have never experienced such long waiting for security. Not enough staff.
Friendly and helpful staff, good connection to town, fast security and passport controls. Small, smelly and dirty smoking area. If u just vape and visit this place, you'll smell like visiting pub in past.
Upon entry, it took 2 hours to get through Passport control in the non-EU line to finally get through and find that my baggage had been placed in the lost and found, to then join another queue to find out where my baggage was, 30 minutes later armed with my luggage and a very despondent attitude to what was supposed to be a short holiday
This airport still hasn’t figured out how to improve the wait times at passport control. I typically wait from 1-2 hours, but it’s been longer. They are way understaffed here.
Dreadful immigration process. Totally inefficient. Very few counters. Indifferent staff. I've travelled recently in Africa and India and their airport processes put this airport to shame. Dreadful experience. Expect down to poor management.
The WORST. I will never fly through this airport. I had an insulin pump and I honestly felt violated with the excessive checking on my body. It was as if the security staff were ignorant about insulin pumps.Disgusting!!! The look on their faces is so unfriendly. I travel a lot and so far this airport and staff is the worst. NEVER AGAIN!!
As passport / border control you are the ambassadors of your country. The way you treat people is shameful. Almost missed my flight due to insane queues, with no one willing to help
Flew via Brussels Airport for a connecting flight. The connection time between flights was 1h15mins, I have never had a problem at any other hub airport in the world with a connection time of this length (I have used Dusseldorf, Doha, Schipol, Heathrow for connecting flights before). We headed straight to where we needed to be and found the queue to get through passport control was ridiculous. Firstly, we were initially told to get into the EU line even though we have British passports so this was confusing and wasted time when we knew we shouldn't have been in that line. Next there were only 2 out of 4 booths open for the non-EU passports line (even though there were probably close to 1,000 people in our queue and appeared to stretch very far back into the airport as more people joined), the EU queue wasn't much better. We barely made any progress in the hour we were in the queue. Passengers were having to ask other passengers if they could get to the front of the queue as they were panicking about missing flights, which we eventually had to think about doing. There didn't seem to be any strategy or planning, surely for an international airport and travel hub in the modern day, there should be data available to anticipate how many passengers are expected to land and pass through. There was no communication/lack of staff to ask to help people trying to make connecting flights - people were told they just had to ask and rely on other passengers to let them through - potentially causing conflict between passengers. I have witnessed in other airports priority systems were if people were at risk of missing flights they were brought to the front - why could this not be done? Eventually when our flight was already boarding and was due to fly in 15 mins (we had already been phoned by the airline to tell us we had to get to the gate ASAP) a member of staff told all UK, USA and Canadian passport holders to come to the e-gates (WHY WAS THIS NOT AN OPTION BEFORE!!) this caused further confusion and distress for us and fellow passengers. So disorganised, complete lack of planning. It was only due to the kindness of the staff at Brussels Airlines who waited for us that we made our flight. I think even if you were just taking one flight and arrived 3-4 before your flight time I think people would have been struggling to make their flights. I will be avoiding using this airport in the future as a transport hub, and advising others to do the same.
The line to get out of the country took an hour and half. It's understandable during entry, but on exit is ridiculous. No one cares that the passengers are delayed got their boarding and some unruly passengers had to jump the line making it worse for everyone else. 30yrs of flying, I must admit this is the worst airport experience ever.
⭐ 1/5 – Worst Entry Point into Europe
Arrived at Brussels Airport and was stuck in passport control for nearly 2 hours. The lines were extremely long, disorganized, and understaffed. No clear guidance, no priority lanes, and very few officers processing travelers — especially for non-EU passport holders.
For a major international hub and the de facto capital of the EU, this was a terrible first impression. Easily one of the worst border control experiences I’ve had in Europe.
Avoid flying into Brussels if you can — especially if you’re not an EU citizen.
