I just finished an incredible journalism course, and I couldn’t be more impressed. It struck the perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice, diving into areas like investigative reporting, ethics, and the art of storytelling. The instructors were not only knowledgeable but also approachable, offering insights and feedback that were both practical and inspiring.

This course really opened my eyes to the responsibilities and impact of journalism, and it left me feeling more confident and motivated than ever. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting to sharpen their skills or take the first step toward a career in journalism—it was a truly transformative experience!

The course was really easy to follow and well written. It was interesting and insightful. It gave lots of helpful tips across a broad range of topics whilst showing different styles. The feedback was always very useful and constructive and I feel I really developed the necessary knowledge and skills to go away and confidently pitch my ideas.

A really educational and informative course . Expect honest opinions and constructive feedback . Time and effort needs to go into the research and reading material but worth it to achieve your goals .

I thoroughly enjoyed my online course with the British College of Journalism. The college were extremely flexible and allowed me to extend the duration of my course because of work and family commitments. I learnt a considerable amount through the assignments, which really tested my ability to write. The constructive feedback from my tutor was excellent and it has given me the confidence to pursue a career in writing and Journalism.

I really enjoyed completing my diploma at the British College of Journalism. The tutorials were very informative and covered everything I need to know to have the best chance of being published. The course provided me with feedback from a very experienced freelance journalist/editor. I learned a great deal from the constructive feedback. The college was very flexible and I was able to alter my tutorial frequency. Overall, I had a great experience.

All the people I have been in touch with at the British College of Journalism were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making my journey to become a journalist a success. My tutor provided honest, constructive and encouraging feedback. She took care to add a personal touch with references to similar experiences. For questions about coursework submission, deadlines etc. the admin staff was very helpful. Adjusting to the student's needs within reason and proactively offering supportive wiggle room really helped with focussing on my development. It simply did not feel like an online only experience. I recommend you try it out.

I found this journalism course fun and flexible. Judy was my mentor and I found her feedbacks constructive. The admin team was very helpful as I continued the course after a long break. There was an extra fee of 100 pounds of course, but it was worth it.

Informative and helpful. A great way to learn about getting into the business of freelance journalism

Interesting course with lots of practical, useful and supportive information. Very realistic approach and I liked the honesty - didn’t try to pretend that earning a living as a freelance journalist was an easy thing to do but also gave plenty of encouragement. Assignments returned very quickly with helpful feedback. Any general queries promptly and efficiently answered. Enjoyed the course - many thanks to all involved.

I learned so much on this course, mostly from my mistakes! Which is to be expected, going in as a beginner. It really helped to have professional feedback for each assignment.

I enjoyed the learning process and the variety of materials and tasks.

The course is very insightful, it teaches the world of freelance journalism with a very comprehensive approach, helping the student wade through the complex reality of the editorial world. The writing skills the course teaches are also happily useful and to the point.

Due to health reasons I’ve been contemplating writing as a change of career for a while. This course gave me the tools to be able to take a professional approach to that and avoid many rookie pitfalls.

My tutor was great with her constructive feedback and I always received a prompt response with any queries. The flexibility was also a must for me (again for health reasons) and it’s really helped me to mould my style of writing from quaintly entertaining on social media, to something I might actually be able to pay bills with!

In fact I had my first article published in local magazine about a week before I received my diploma.
