Very happy with the bed, BUT

Very happy with the bed, colour and design, just what I wanted, not disappointed.
Three stars because, no instructions whatsover, I needed to phone the company because the brackets supplied to hold the two parts of the bed did not fit, the hydraulic lift for the bottom half of the ottoman storage, was so strong, on removing the ties to hold it down during transit, the top flew open. It does need a very strong push to bring it down, wont stay down unless the mattress is sitting on both top and bottom parts at once.
The floor standing headboard, is quite heavy but only two supporting screws to attach to the bed, really needs another two to keep it firmly attached.
New customers should also be aware, I waited 6 weeks for the bed to be delivered, I contacted the company numerous times asking for a date.
No issue that the bed took six weeks to arrive, but it should be made clear at the ordering stage, it would not be 10 days, but could take much longer.

Do not buy anything from this site

Ceased trading causing staff not to be paid. Still waiting for wages and redundancies. I would be very wary if you are dealing with this company.

Good product, good service

Ordered a divan base and matching headboard that were delivered in about 7 days. Communication from placing the order to delivery to assembly was exceptional. The bed was cheaper in comparison to the usual high street names, and delivered more quickly too (I did order the mattress elsewhere). So far the product looks OK quality (about what you'd expect for the price). I would recommend British Beds Direct if you need a new bed quickly.

Dreadful service

Dreadful service - I'm embarrassed to see 'British' in the company name. I don't trust the positive trust pilot reviews of this business. I ordered a headboard and got an automated email confirming my order. I received no further communications. I emailed to ask where my order was and was advised by email this would be investigated but didn't hear from them again. A month from purchase I phoned to ask where my order was, and asked to cancel the order. They agreed to refund me. It is 3 weeks and no refund, again no communication. All the communication has come from me the customer. I would not recommend this company. I notice their website does not have a complaints procedure either.

Excellent quality divan base with drawers

Excellent quality divan base with drawers.
Great communication, received a phone call to confirm order and when to expect delivery. Delivery drivers were also friendly and delivered to room of choice. I would definitely recommend, cannot fault them.

Just awful!

Stay away at all cost. I waiting 6 weeks for a bed to be delivered. They came 5 times on the incorrect date. When they will eventually did come it was one hour late and refused to wait 5 minutes to deliver the bed.
Staff were very rude. It was the worst delivery experience I've ever experienced. I wasted days waiting for the delivery and experienced a lot of stress due to the utter incompetence of this company.

We understand there were multiple delivery attempts made but the delivery dates booked or the delivery time slots were not suitable for you. The delivery did take place on the day when you were able to take a full day off work so the delivery time did not clash with your schedule.

Regarding the issue of the delivery drivers' not waiting for you to move existing furniture in the room of choice, we want to clarify the order could still have been left in the room of choice without the need to move existing furniture. Please understand our delivery team's only responsibility is to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of our products. While they strive to accommodate our customers' individual needs to the best of their ability, the delivery team must also adhere to their operational procedures to maintain consistency and professionalism in their services and to complete deliveries on time.

Extra request such as waiting to move furniture are the causes of delays making the delivery team fall behind on their schedule which we hope you can understand, as you yourself have expressed your dissatifaction that they arrived shortly after the estimated window.

We regret any frustration or inconvenience you have felt with your experience with us.

Quality headboards with good choice.

Quality headboards with good choice and sensible pricing. Delivery times are reasonable and they keep you updated. Offers are meaningful. They use a decent delivery firm too. Bought 2 now and would use again and recommend to others.

Good value, well built storage bed

This is the second BBD Ottoman bed I’ve ordered. Customer services were very helpful when contacted. They are good value beds, well built and easily connected (gas struts) once delivered. The storage space created is invaluable. Their delivery company was also very helpful and willing.

Brilliant British Beds Direct

Shortly after I placed my order I received a call from the company to confirm my order and let me know the bed would be delivered within 10 days. Further to this they told me there would be a 2 person team on delivery’s who would take the bed to whatever room we wanted.
The delivery process started with an email 48 hours before to give me a date and time frame, followed by a call. On the day of delivery we had a call from the team letting us know they would be there within the hour.
When the team arrived they took the bed upstairs for us with no issues.
From start to finish the process was smooth and professional.
The bed base was as described on the website and is a quality product. I would not hesitate to order from British Beds Direct in the future and I am happy to recommend them to anyone who wants to purchase a British made product from a company who puts their customers at the heart of their business.

Double bed

Ordered double bed which arrived on time by efficient delivery service. The bed was as described and of good quality. Colour was as expected. Definitely a two girl job putting bed together as it’s heavy. Drawers on the bed glide easily and the base lifts with minimal effort for good storage. Over all very happy with bed and would purchase again. One point to note the bed won’t glide easily if storage full as it’s too heavy. That was my experience anyway.
