Only allowed to change dose every 3 months

Although I was provided with a good telehealth visit, I am very disappointed with how the provider chose to prescribe my medication and the lack of response when I stated the dose was no longer working. Even though I had zero side effects, I was required to stay on the Wegovy 2.5mg for 3 months before increasing the dose. This is 2 months longer than Lily's recommended dosing and considered a subtherapeutic dose. I had minimal success at this dose and wasted considerable funds before transitioning to what is considered the lowest therapeutic dose. I then received a 3 month supply for the 5mg dose. That went well, but at the end of my third month I told my provider that it seemed to be decreasing efficacy, and I was told I had to try this dose for another 3 months before increasing it to 7.5mg. So I have been on Wegovy for over 6 months, and I am still at the 5mg dose with no weight loss in the last 2 months and increased cost. According to the manufacturer and many sources online, I should have been at the 7.5mg at minimum. It is frustrating that you cannot change your dose but once every 3 months, even if you are not losing weight and have no side effects. This medication is expensive and I feel I have lost valuable time on my weight loss journey.

Negligent and dishonest

Their negligence led to a significant overdose and serious adverse effects. Bridgeside Telehealth acted with gross negligence and dishonesty, putting patient safety at risk, and made repeated attempts to cover it up.

Thank you for your feedback. In this case, dosing instructions were clearly provided on the prescription label and reviewed with the patient, and our care team spoke with her multiple times to answer questions and provide guidance.

After reviewing the situation, we confirmed that the medication had been taken differently than prescribed. For safety and compliance reasons, we’re unable to replace medication when it isn’t used according to the instructions. Bridgeside is committed to ethical, transparent care, and we work hard to provide clear guidance and ongoing support to every patient.
