I instructed Dan to design a new logo concept for a group of companies which included one new one to tie into the existing two. I gave him no brief insisting I was easy going. He presented me with options which I then realised I wasn't easy going and I did have specific idea which he nurtured and happily went back and forth till it was what I wanted without knowing I wanted it.
