I'd highly recommend The Original Box Sash Windows Company if you're renovating ore replacing your sash windows. Their service is excellent and their windows are hand-made in the UK and very professionally fitted. We have replaced three sets of windows using them over the past decade and are very happy with the results. The windows make a real difference to sound pollution and warmth inside and look really smart.

It would seem that this company has recently been sold, so the claims that they have been in business since 1979 may be inaccurate. A request to make good cills, which were only installed less that two years ago, met with the response that parts are covered by the new company but not labour, does not seem compatible with the promised "no quibble 5 year guarantee".

We ordered new windows and internal doors from The Original Box Sash Windows Company. Now that they have been installed, we couldn't be happier. The windows have given a new elegance to the bedroom and the draft has gone. The doors look great, feel solid, and block out unwanted noise. The service has been consistently excellent - timely, polite, and helpful.

This was the second time we’d used Original Box Sash. We chose them again because of the quality of the windows, the way they matched the Victorian originals while also providing effective double-glazing, and the tidy and effective implementation the first time round.

This is the fourth time we have used The Original Box Sash Company. Our first set of seven windows were installed 10 years ago and are still in excellent working order.
The whole process of installation is carried out in a friendly and professional manner. These windows are not cheap but are excellent value for money.

Very professional from beginning to end, from site survey and estimate, second visit and to refurbishment and fitting.
In every step of the process I was explained what it involved and what to expect.
The fitters were very efficient, most respectful and considerate. They contained and managed well any unavoidable disruption.
The refurbished windows look like new and certainly smooth to open and close and we can tell that our home is surely warmer and we have reduced greatly any heat loss.
Highly recommend them.
PS: finish of the fittings is of very good quality.

We had new sash and casement windows made and some existing windows refurbishment. The original appearance of the house has been restored and its energy performance transformed.

We were impressed at every stage of the process from our initial enquiry to the installation and are delighted with the results - a truly professional and friendly customer focused experience.

We had the front bays and side windows fitted in our Edwardian house in December 2019. These complemented the sash windows at the back of the house that we had had fitted three or four years ago by OBSW Co. The sash windows are not cheap but they are good quality and made of hard wood. Steve, our fitter, was experienced and very competent. He was also polite and most helpful (for example he fixed a previously damaged curtain runner, that was over and above the call of duty). He arrived on time, worked long days and was extremely neat and tidy. He was in the house for 3/4 days but was always at pains to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.
We have one small issue outstanding with the company but I am sure that this will be settled amicably.

I settled on the Original Box Sash Window Co after obtaining quotations from other similar companies. The windows supplied matched my expectations, look good and soundproof very well in my London Street
- which can be a rat run. The fitters were excellent being clean and tidy, sheeting everywhere and vacuuming up afterwards. You would not have known that they had been there. I did not ask for new window frames but the sash windows were fitted perfectly to feel like new windows that glide perfectly in the old frame. An excellent company and an excellent job.

Excellent all round - from detailed survey and planning to implementation. Installers quietly got on with it, working very thoroughly and carefully, making sure to check out details and options with us (e.g. for window furniture). Nothing was too much trouble. They were also very tidy and left no mess. We are very pleased with the results. Smoothly opening windows are a real joy and we are also noticing the benefits in terms of insulation and reduction in noise from outside.

A professional and efficient service. I am very happy with both the new and renovated windows. It has made our front room much warmer on colder days; we now no longer have to close the curtains to be in the room.

The product is very good and this is matched by really good members of their staff
The estimator told us that for to of the three windows we wanted to replace, the local council were likely to insist on repair rather than replacement and this turned out to be correct. We appreciated this responsible attitude

Company recommended by a friend. Estimates from alternative firms not significantly different. From the beginning all appointments were kept punctually. Totally professional and efficient. As almost all windows required replacement or refurbishment this represented major work. We were supported with decision making re details. Completed well within projected time frame. The men working in our house were skilled, polite, discreet and work-focussed keeping us informed of progress regularly. They were always tidy and orderly, hoovering the house each evening and restoring rooms as they completed a set of windows. Aesthetically the work has been completed to the highest standard and our house is significantly warmer. I recommend this company without reservation.

From the initial scoping visit to the installation of new windows in my house, I found The Original Box Sash Windows company and its staff (administrators, surveyor, fitters) to be extremely professional, efficient and approachable. The sound-proofing of the glazing has already made a huge difference to my comfort, and I am sure similar benefits to my heating bills will show up in the coming winter. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending their work.

A good salesman who listened to our needs and met them, efficient administration which coped easily with changes that we required, superb windows and an excellent fitter who was self-sufficient but always available to discuss the work.

The customers services was very good from start to finish. My installation date was pushed back 1 day on the day before the installation, which was short notice, but I was able to accommodate this. The fitters were friendly, quick and clean. My windows were replaced within the time agreed and they look fantastic. Very happy with the quality of the product and the service. The only minor point is that the making good (painting) to my white pebble dash exterior wall has to be done my me. :/ Such a specialist service, taking into consideration the cost of the works/windows, should include a full making good service also. That would help to put the company above others (think Amazon). Nevertheless, I'll have to now get some paint and make good the areas myself. Other than that though, thumbs up!

I have been gradually replacing the windows in my Victorian house with lovely hardwood double glazed ones specially made up to fit the period of the house. This company pays enormous attention to making sure the details are right for the period of the house and that the customer is happy with their order. The surveyors and fitters are excellent and l can thorougly reccomend this company.

Expensive but you get what you pay for. Did everything they said they would on time, clean, good product, and the only firm that could work around us keeping the original Victorian box which was important to us.
