Packages open and bad customer service
I really loved ordering book from here but recently all the packages have been open from the sides, so my books have taken damage from it. NOT OKAY! And now I ordered a book and they denied my payment method and did not care sending me a email about changing it. Straight up just cancelled my order, and it was preorder so now I can't even order it again. I don't know what they changed but it was NOT good change. I do not recommend ordering from here.

We are very sorry to have been unable to provide your order on this occasion and for the upset this has caused. When you place an order with us you are issuing permission for payment to be taken, which will always happen at the time of dispatch from our Distribution Centre, including for pre-orders. When failed payment happens at this moment, it's a communication error between the payment platform and the card provider, which sadly in turn auto-cancels the order in full. This means we are unable to request any alternative payment options and advise customers to please place a new order should an item be still required.
We are terribly sorry on this occasion that it was not possible to place a new order due to limited availability and therefore has resulted in being unable to purchase again currently. Blackwell's would never wish for payment to fail and apologise for this occurring on this occasion.
In regard to damaged items, our Customer Service team are on hand to support should an item sadly arrive damaged in transit. Very good prices and even if the delivery can take some time, that's fast enough. Recently had a problem with a book that has been damaged and gone missing during transport: Customer service was very helpful and got a new book within two weeks.

Ordered online on 11 March. 9 days later and it's with a courier. No sign of the book being delivered anytime soon. Really slow processing and shipping times. Don't order from them if you'd like to receive anything in less than two weeks.

I ordered paperbacks of TGCF
I ordered paperbacks of TGCF. Not easy to find with only forbidden planet and Waterstones selling them, but only some of them.
Blackwells however was great with having all of them except one.
However my order went through fine. By only getting charged when they had the books it allowed me to see what was ready for shipping and what was still being waited for.
Customer service is excellent. Promptly replied to a order update email telling my exactly where the order was.
Arrived great. Box was extremely well packaged and sturdy. As a result the books were in perfect condition. One did have a very small crease right at the very bottom but I was able to gently bend it out a bit so honestly you wouldn't notice when it's on a shelf.
I am very happy with Blackwells.

Fair price and good service.
Pretty good and straightforward ordering process. The book was delivered to Hungary within a bit more than two weeks in great condition. Customer service was quick and friendly to advise me on the order status. Price is fair.

I contacted Blackwell's about a parcel that never arrived. Nourhan from Blackwell's handled the case, and in the most efficient way she arranged a full refund. The whole process took a couple of hours. Speedy processing, a kind and understanding treatment and so on. This is customer service at its very best. I will be back to buy more books.

This is a charming book set back in time. Very few people are aware of the true history of Jamaica and especially of the Germans who came to live there.
This book tells a lovely story about a young lady from the German community and her interactions with a ghost ’duppy’ . I would highly recommend this book

Utterly chaotic delivery
If I had known that this company used Whistl for order fulfillment, I would never have used them. Utterly chaotic delivery. I order 4 books for £130 and say I'm cool with split delivery. I then receive several confusing updates from various couriers with no mention of blackwells indicating, I think, that my items have been despatched. When I check the tracking, couriers say they have yet to receve the items, When I try to check the status of my order on their website, I get a 404 error on their homepage. Ecommerce has been a thing for 25 years. I expect a supplier like Blackwell's to have sorted out this stuff by now.
Update: It is now 9 days since I ordered my books. All were showing as available for dispatch within 7 days. One is showing as delivered (It isn't, I haven't seen it, Evri sent me a message saying they'd been unable to deliver it two days ago and I haven't heard from them since), two are showing as dispatched 2 days ago, but without any tracking whatsoever, the other is showing as still being processed. God knows when I might actually recieve the books I have paid for or if I ever will.
