Boat History Report has quietly become one of the most important risk-management tools in our dealership.
Over recent years, I’ve seen more cases where boats sold through other dealers - often trade-ins or auction purchases - trigger insurance cancellations once prior damage is discovered after the customer has already taken delivery. When that happens, everyone is affected, but the dealer usually ends up carrying the heaviest burden to make it right. With the recent Florida title changes, that risk only feels higher.
For Marine Connection (2021 Top Dealer in North America; Boating Industry Top 100 Dealer), Boat History Report has helped us avoid multiple problem boats before they ever became our problem - trailer accidents, fraudulent serial numbers, and undisclosed damage. These are things that don’t always show up on a title but absolutely matter later.
I’ve recommended Boat History Report to other dealers for more than 15 years. What once felt like a competitive advantage now feels like basic due diligence. If you’re a dealer, broker, or manufacturer, this is a tool worth integrating into your process.
If a business refuses to give out their phone number it should put up a red flag. I was charged for an item that I never received or asked for and when I contacted them through the only means that they allow, they give you nothing. I have never received an actual product from this company but if its anything like their non existent customer service its not worth buying.
Im sure they will make time to come up with some sort of reason on why they have no real contact information but the fact is if you get charged 10 times for their service by a glitch they have no way for you to contact them directly and then your credit card company will also have trouble trying to get ahold of them to dispute it.
Strongly suggest against them.
The level of service we have gotten from Boat History Report was extraordinary. If not for the information provided by Boat History Report we would have made a costly mistake. The information we got from them was unique to any other source: we contracted with a surveyor, we ran a DMV check, we got a report from Boat Alert, we even contacted the insurance company with the HIN, and none found what they found. Boat History Report was able to show us conclusive evidence that the boat we were considering buying was a salvage boat and had been declared a total loss.
Shockingly, the insurance company told us that we could have gotten an insurance quote, paid for the policy, and bought the boat and ONLY LATER have the insurance company drop our policy because this information came to light later by their underwriting team. Apparently insurance companies have 30 days AFTER THE SALE to drop your policy! Because of this, insurance companies put minimal effort into quoting and selling policies, they just audit policies after the fact and drop them when this kind of information comes to light.
Boat History Report helped us to avoid a financial disaster.

I initially purchased the report for $60 USD after seeing a preview that indicated there were 4 records available. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the actual content of the report. The records turned out to be of little to no value to me:
• Two records were simply ownership transfer dates (not helpful).
• One was generic “warranty info” with disclaimers that made it completely irrelevant—especially since my boat is 15 years old and clearly out of warranty.
• One was a “recall” notice related to labeling issues on a completely different vessel, along with a list of generalized problems from much older models unrelated to my specific boat or HIN.
I had expected something more akin to a Carfax-style report with details specific to my boat's history, but aside from the ownership transfer dates, the report contained no useful or relevant information.
However, I want to highlight that the company responded to my concerns quickly and professionally. They followed up by providing additional background information about the contents and limitations of their reports, which helped clarify things. Most importantly, they promptly honored their satisfaction guarantee and issued me a full refund.
While I still believe the report content was not worth the cost and did not meet my expectations, I am genuinely impressed with their excellent and professional customer service. Based on that alone, I would recommend them. Their integrity and responsiveness go a long way in maintaining customer trust.

I used Boat History Report while searching for a used boat for my wife and I. The service gave me detailed insights into the boat's I was looking at including any accidents and damage. The report also included comprehensive coverage of state registration and title records, and US Coast Guard documentation. It helped me avoid a couple of questionable listings where the owner and possibly the yacht broker were not being upfront with me and ultimately gave me confidence in my purchase. Reports were easy to use and for the price I'd highly recommend using Boat History Report before making a decision. It's an inexpensive extra check you can do before making such a large purchase decision.

I pulled the boat history report because I was considering the purchase of a boat a considerable distance from me. I didn't find a lot of useful data in the report. That said maybe there was not much info as nothing bad happened to the boat in question. The warranty and recall sections where for the manufacture in general and not specific to my model or year.

I ran a report mistakenly using the wrong HIN#, which initially came back with no history at all.
I contacted BoatHistoryReport’s customer service for help and received a very fast reply from Annie, who helped me straighten out my mistake and even identified that Georgia had the wrong HIN as well.
She gave me full credit to run a new report, which showed all the positive history I needed from the state, and advised me to have seller correct the state registration. I purchased the boat, the history has been corrected and I am very happy.
Through several email exchanges, Annie was quick and very helpful. I don’t know about other CS specialists, but she was the best!

First I'll give their customer support 5 starts plus. I had entered the wrong VIN and left a negative review. They contacted me with the corrected VIN and credit to rerun the report, impressive.
Maybe a good thing there was not a lot of history and it did have a record of each time the boat was registered. Knowing when it was first registered by the original owner told me when the boat went into service.
I almost bought a stolen boat! The seller claimed to not know it was stolen but the boat history report showed it was stolen. I inquired for more information and was pleasantly surprised with a prompt phone call back from a polite and extremely knowledgeable agent.
This could have been a disaster for me as I could have paid for the boat only to have it seized from me later since it was stolen property. Thank you for providing the public with this service!
Thankfully we decided to pay for a report on a boat we were interested in. We were able to find out that the boat had been in saltwater, which the seller did not disclose. In addition, the report showed damage that resulted in a total loss claim, something else that the seller did not disclose. Save us from making a big mistake. We will definitely keep running these reports when we look for boats in the future.
Don't buy a used boat without it, boat history report is the real deal. The seller of the boat I was looking at told me the boat had been in Georgia it's entire life. From the report I can see it was in Texas, Florida, and now Georgia. The info helps you know if the seller is telling you the truth or not. I wonder what else he was lying to me about the boat. Comprehensive information for anyone buying a used boat. I tried some of the other services out there but they didn't have much info at all.
I have been searching for a 22ft Sea Hunt which I finally found and purchased for my family. The site I used to find my boat linked to the boat history report. A few boats I researched had damage on their reports which the seller did not mention. I was able to avoid those boats and in my opinion this made using this service a must for anyone buying a used boat.
The report on the boat we are purchasing was very detailed and indicated a possible problem. On contacting Boat Report they were able to ascertain that the problem was only a past insurance claim for items that had been stolen off the boat and we were able to complete our purchase with peace of mind. Thank you Boat Report.

Boat history report was extremely helpful to me when I bought my boat and it was a great value for the price. It gave me peace of mind with all of these online scammers selling boats. I was able to see where the boat was last registred to confirm the seller wasn't lying to me and confirmed no past damage.
Hey, listen up this BoatHistoryReport.com was excellent. I paid my $39.00 put in the HIN number, and it reveals the make of the boat. I then thought well, that's nice, but I already knew that information. I thought well that was a waste of $39.00, so I contacted Boat History Report via Email, and to my surprise, they emailed me back promptly with a reply. It turns out I put in the wrong HIN number. They offered a full refund, but I just wanted information on the boat. That is when Caroline called from Boat History Report. She tracked down the boat information for me. It turned out the 1975 boat was never appropriately registered, and that was the reason no information was available. She even went as far as getting me the steps the owner could take to get it registered, and I could legally buy the boat without problems with the title. Thank you, Boat History Report, but a special thanks to Caroline, who went way above and beyond my $39.00 purchase.
I would like to say, based upon the quick response of Boat History Report and their willingness to help check out the boat beyond what is required, the company is worth 10 times what I paid for the 5 inspection reports and I will absolutely tell everyone about your company, because…
Your company has already delivered well beyond expectations and I Thank you for that!
