Extremely Disappointed – Misdiagnosis and No Accountability

Title:

I’m deeply disappointed with the service I received at BMW Dortmund regarding an ongoing issue with my car’s heating system.

In June 2024, I brought my vehicle in because the right-side and rear heaters were not working. I was told it was an “initialization issue” and charged €359.26 for diagnosis and repair. However, when winter arrived, the exact same issue returned — nothing had been resolved.

I returned to BMW Dortmund and was charged another €250 for a second diagnosis, after which I was told the entire heating unit must be replaced for €3500.

To verify, I visited BMW Wittman, where I received the same diagnostic result for just €108. The huge price difference and poor communication from BMW Dortmund are completely unacceptable, especially from a premium brand.

Despite contacting BMW Dortmund multiple times, I received no proper explanation, no goodwill support, and no accountability for the initial misdiagnosis. Their recent written response even misrepresented facts, claiming helpful communication that never occurred.

This has been a frustrating and expensive experience, and I cannot recommend BMW Dortmund to any BMW owner who expects honesty, competence, or customer care. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions.
