I have had a card for many years and despite it being increasingly difficult to use as so many companies are moving over to 'top up' cards i have enjoyed some fantastic savings.
Throughout my membership I have been employed as a front line staff member for social care, employed by the local social services department. My role and job description is around 95% the same as a social worker. In March 2026 I paid to renew my card but my identity was declined. My hr department wrote a letter confiirming my employment status and role, which I attached to my job description. The site wouldn't allow me to upload the documents so I raised an issue and was able to attach the documentation. It was declined again. Today I received an email asking how 'they had done,' Bluelight. You did rubbish and I am very disappointed.

Tried to top up a shopping card but it failed again
Tried to top up a shopping card but it failed after waiting ages to access the site. It stated that I’d get my money back in 5-10 days. That’s helpful, £100 out of pocket for that long. Luckily the money didn’t come out of my bank so I bought a new shopping card and…..yep, I can’t claim it ‘there’s a problem’, again!
Maybe that’s what happens when the platform is open to all those teachers who respond to emergencies with a blue light.
