Just back from the Blue Bay Hotel…

Just back from the Blue Bay Hotel Rhodes, what a load of crap. Room was falling apart, food was cold, was a war to get a beach towel, sunbeds and parasol were falling apart thats if your 'lucky' enough to get one, some staff were lovely but most were miserable. Whole complex was falling apart. Entertainment was rubbish, hotel situated in the back of beyond. Young lady we got talking to told us she couldnt lock her door, she had a daughter and young son but hotel told them they were safe!!?? Water park was falling apart, steep stairs held together my mastic and very unsafe. Only hotel ive ever been that i wont be recommending to anyone. Thankfully had good company or we would of left before check out. Everyone we spoke to was saying the same, and they werent all english, dutch, german, irish, from all over saying the same. This hotel needs to put new and truthful photos up of the complex coz we felt deceived by them.

Blue Bay Hotel, Lalysos, Rhodes

Blue Bay Hotel, Lalysos, Rhodes.
Family holiday at the start of school holidays.
An all inclusive hotel, busy as it was the start of school holidays but fair play to all the staff they were absolutely brilliant. We had 2 small problems with our room and each time we reported one in the morning it was fixed by the afternoon.
Meal times were very busy but once again, staff were brilliant no finished plates stayed on the table long and we never had to wait for a table and we were a large group of 7. Food was really tasty and good variety rotated every day. What made it even more special was one of the girls working in the restaurant was born in our home town! Normally we have to explain where we are from in the UK!!
We had a great family holiday and really didn't want to leave, thank you to everybody who made it for us.

Do not book an Annexe room unless it's within the Hotel

We booked via Tui going for our 42nd Wedding Anniversary Annexe Room however not informed that the Annexe room we were given was separated from the hotel across a little road.
We were isolated the Annexe rooms all want knocking down so dilapidated totally poor standard unclean rusty tables no drawers blood on the wall phone not working so unable to contact reception to move on the evening of arrival.
We did move the next day to 1055 which was what we would have expected to have in the first place at a cost of 300 euros to us, however we had no choice either stay in a room not up to any standard or move within the complex i had poor mobility the bell boy said call 9 and we will come and get you every time phone not working. The hotel said it was the only room available.

Everyone we met had been moved from the Annexe rooms most of whom had to pay one couple had gone with her sister all elderly dumped in Annexe room double bed for 3 of them it's laughable they moved into the hotel at no extra cost.
So just beware check before you go that your Annexe room is on the complex they had been modernised and looked ok.
The food was good can't complain although lots of cats wandering around the restaurant. Entertainment was good although it didn't start till late.
The staff were great very friendly Great for families you wouldn't need to leave the hotel our only issue was we should have been given a room up to standard in the first place and not have to ask to be moved at a cost to us.
I am liasing with tui who are saying there is nothing they can do as we paid it at the resort I did complain the day after via the app and chatted to staff to try and get another room I feel it's extortionate they dump you in a room knowing it's not as advertised knowing full well you are in a vulnerable position and have no choice but to pay it.

Cats, Cats everywhere in the restaurant

Stayed 7nights at Blue Bay Resort Hotel in Lalysos Rhodes, Greece.
Extremely unpleasant experience, firstly there was no heating in my room for 3 days and had the worst meal experience everyday, 3 times a day.
Cats everywhere in the restaurant, licking legs whilst you eat sitting under chairs and tables, cats hunting for food.
Left my plate to get a drink once and a cat jumped onto the table and ate out of my plate, absolutely disgusting and unhygienic. They should put this on the hotel/restaurant details, I definitely would not have booked this hotel if I knew cats would be everywhere in the restaurant.

Me and my mom love this place

Me and my mom love this place. Very beautiful view, the area was well maintained and the weather in December was great, a little windy, so we went to the beach, went down and swam in the warm water of the ocean, since the water in the pool was cold. The food is delicious, I wish there was more choice of desserts. Very attentive and responsive staff. Both restaurants have excellent service. At the reception all issues are resolved in a matter of seconds. The only wish is aesthetic renovation and updating of mattresses on the beds. We will definitely come back in the summer to enjoy the pool services.

If you want to get robbed this is the…

If you want to get robbed this is the place for you. While getting a massage, faced down, the therapist went into my wallet and took American cash.
I immediately noticed when the massage was over ( I am very particular about the way I place my money) and I demanded to speak to the manager. I told them if they didn’t handle this I was going to tell all guests what happened. The manager told me to go about my day and he will be back in touch with me. He came to my room within the hour and told me he would comp my massage and also give me a 200 American credit minus whatever I would spend at the resort and also the resort VAT. He explained that their protocol was to have the therapist require me to fill out a form listing my personal belongings before my massage which she didn’t so he will hold her accountable. The next day at checkout he changed his tune knowing I would not have interaction with guests. He did give me a credit of 200 but I still had to pay for my massage. The amount of money I received back was not what she stole from me. He turned very arrogant. To top it off the front desk staff told the others in my group that stayed longer than I did that I didn’t pay my bill.
If you read the reviews the same exact thing happened previously. The staff is aware.
FYI- she is still employed at this resort so BEWARE.

Awful company - poor customer service

Awful company. Booked 2x 2 bed apartments in 2020 before Covid hit at stay at BlueBay Beach Club in Gran Canaria.

The hotel cancelled our booking due to it being closed but refuse to give us a refund.

I have sent numerous emails, requested call backs and sent messages via social media.

No one will return my calls or answer my emails. I get responses from social media asking me to email them and then I get no replies.

Would never book with this chain again as I feel they are untrustworthy.

Their staff need to have customer service training.

Fabulous resort with outstanding service and staff

We stayed at the Bluebay resort in Zanzibar August 2022 and the overall experience was fabulous. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and did their utmost to ensure we had the best stay. The general manager Dass was absolutely amazing at ensuring everything was perfect. The resort had lots of amenities, and the cleanliness of the rooms was first class. I would highly recommend and certainly return.

Outstanding in a nutshell

Outstanding in a nutshell. The staff are absolutely on form so helpful and thoughtful. Our cleaner/housekeeper helped my mother up as she is disabled without a second thought. The reception staff arranged mobility scooters for us and was very cheap. This place is my new favourite holiday destination. The whole experience has been fab. I love it here and yes I'm here at the time of writing this review. The food is good with themed nights.. lovely clean place very very comfortable ..

Pirates nest but ok anyway

We got our bill in Tanzania shilling, but the reception gave it to us in US$ at their own exchange rate. That was an extra 31 US$ added to our bill. Thats piracy!!!

Apart from the piracy we had a very fine stay. Excellent food. Excellent staff. Excellent room. Excellent beach. Excellent bar. Excellent but a little slow staff.
Blue Bay Beach Resort is lying on the east coast of Zanzibar. This means that there blows a nice soothing breeze that cuts the top of the heat 29 celsius. The beach is sandy and the water warm and clean.
