We've had our BlocOut blind for approx. 9 months now. It does not completely black out as advertised, due to leakage in each 4 corners - We've had to add additional taping to hide these leaks. Furthermore, the bottom seal has to be pulled down extremely tight, in a normal pull down action isn't sufficient and light leaks the whole strip across the bottom too. The most irritating part of all of this is that the blind material is forever coming out of the groove of the blind frame, no matter how gentle operation is - it always fails. The most frustrating part of a very expensive blind is that the material cannot stay inside the frame and trying to fix it in the thick of nap time / bed time routine is not easy either because you have to put your arm up through the blind WHISLT it is down and in situ?! A really frustrating purchase. We won't be buying another for our next child, we'll just buy a cheap blind and tape it like we've had to with this one.

I received my order and the side rails were too big. Try to contact customer care twice but got no reply. I would never buy of them again. Very poor customer service. They are quick enough taking the funds but when there is a problem they don’t want to know. Beware everyone.
The blinds are poor quality and I got a better quality from Kavanagh at a better price and better customer service.

The ordering process was relatively easy. The blinds that I ordered arrived before the promised date, and by carefully following the provided instructions, they fit fine.

Nice design. Maybe not great for really wide windows. It was really hard to put up for wide window, 2 people, discovered that it was 4mm short length ways so it didn’t fit into the bracket. Had to make something up. Using it though and the blackout works pretty well.

We love our black out blinds. Highly recommend for a good night's sleep especially in the lighter mornings..

Amazing! Blinds that are actually blackout.
We researched and took a while to decide on the blinds. Measured our window as per the video more than once!
They are for my postie son who has an East facing window so needed proper blinds so he could sleep and nap after walking those 20k steps a day. We also fitted them ourselves.

The top and side pieces that go into the recess have a very strong adhesive on them. This can make it difficult to get the side pieces perfectly plumb as once the piece touches the wall it can't be repositioned without damaging the wall. Also the tension on the blind is too strong. When the blind is moved half way up it doesn't stay there. It gradually creeps up until it is fully open

Well made blind that blocks the light out.

We chose BlocOut Blinds mainly because they were the only company we could find that offered a wide range of patterns and not just single colour blinds. We went with the Green Tractor pattern for the baby room and the Sun and Moon pattern for the bedroom. Everything arrived in good time and was quick and easy to fit, two sticky pads, 4 nails and 2 screws. Everything else fitted in to each other. They were easy to fit with good instructions. We did have an issue with one of the side rails, we contacted customer support, Eimear replied straight away and sorted it out without any fuss at all, which was brilliant. The blinds fit perfectly, look great and make a huge difference. I didn’t realise how much better I’d sleep in a completely dark room. I no longer feel groggy when I wake up and I look forward to going to bed for another good nights sleep, we were also skeptical about the noise reduction. But they actually do reduce the noise from outside. Next door have a water feature that runs 24/7 and sounds like a faulty toilet cistern, we can’t hear that anymore (which is awesome 🤗) and the dawn chorus from the birds is now just a murmur. Even the wind and rain noise is reduced, all aiding to a better nights sleep. Now it’s so dark we’re finding other sources of light that we didn’t notice before, like digital displays, a multiplug that has a green LED that now seems too bright and the gap around the door that lets in light from the hallway. So we’re working on removing all sources of light wherever we can. I’d recommend BlocOut Blinds to anyone. They’ve been great.

The curtains have major defects which doesn't block the light properly. After paying a lot of money it's not working as its advertised. A lot of false advertisement around it. The support never responds. Keep away.

Does what it is meant to. Blocks the light really well.

A part was broken several years after purchase. Customer service very quickly replaced it free of charge, really delighted!

Great product - easy to order and install providing a fully dark room

The pros - quick delivery and they really darken the room when shut correctly. They do the job, but...

The cons - instalation isn't straight forward. Whoever designed their manual has never put the blind up or seen someone steuggle to interpret it (honestly, which screw is which couldn't be less clear!).
I had read a review about it being a little small and it is exactly that. My two windows were 1600mm, then why did one come saying 1600 and the other 1599? I don't get it. Also, they weren't the size. The 2mm and 3mm difference for each meant that one kept falling so I had to hold it and put the side bars to keep it in place - it worked.
Another thing, the sticky bit that says you can un-stick: don't! It comes with the paint and never re-sticks. I guess that's why they give you the nails.
Fixing the side bars with the screw in that tiny rail was a massive pain. Too difficult. There should be another way!
Lastly, the rubber at the end doesn't feel solid. If it is under direct sunlight it will become brittle - I am dreading that. It is also under a lot of force as you need to really push it down to ensure it is working as a black out. The first day I realised it needed to go further to prevent light coming in.

What I learnt and did on the second blind:
1) I fixed the guides to the blind before and put it in place, then marked with pencil where the guides should go and stuck them there. Wokerd lovely! Pencil can be erased.
2) Have the side bars close by.
3) For the blind to work well, push slightly back to release the 'break' and slide up or down. When closing, push down well, the "toothed" bit should grab all of the lower part.
4) Consider adding 1mm when putting the width measurement, it would have helped me loads with both blinds.

There will be small areas of light coming through, maybe 1mmx1mm but it is a great result overall once they are in place.

For consideration, i still haven't really tested how they engage with the trickle vents in the windows. Moisture seems to accumulate more.

Every please with my Blocout blind it arrived within the 2 week timescale and installation was simple and was please with the finished blind and it blocks out the light, would certainly buy another one for buy other bedroom.
