i ordered my blade from bladespro and…a bit disappointed with the wrong engraving

i ordered my blade from bladespro and had some small technical difficulties with the express shipments and the address at first but we menage to make it work due to their good customers support, they reply to email the same day.That been said my sword arrive faster then i would had thought, good condition very good quality BUT i asked for the word FAITH in engraving writing in Japanese they put FAITH in English..i mean really..im a bit disappointed but over all all good just a tip if you plan to put some engraving its at your own risk it may not be what you wanted.

Not as transparent as they make out

Not as transparent as the make out. They have no premises in the UK. Bad customer service. Will refuse you a refund. But then you will have to return your item to China anyway. *Edit. It wasn't a minor error in the description. The product was not what it was described as. It took weeks of emailing them and quoting the law before they told me to send the item abroad. And they might consider refunding me. If they are UK based. I should of been able to return to the UK. Use BLADES-UK instead. Better prices, customer service, and better quality products. And they are UK based. Also don't trust the reviews on their website. My bad review will obviously not be shown on their website.

As we spoke about via our many emails privately, you received the sword you purchased, as per the photos shown on our site. There was a minor typo on the site which caused some confusion, for which we took responsibility, fixed immediately, and offered a partial refund.

As we don't normally offer a refund due to change of mind since our products are heavy, handmade, and delicate to ship, we proposed two solutions as you weren't happy with the product: either the option of an immediate partial refund, which you took, or a full refund after we received the goods back (which is both normal and we think, fair).

We believe our prices are fair, as do the hundreds of customers who have left us positive reviews at https://www.bladespro.co.uk/pages/reviews, but if they're not a good fit for you that's fine too.

Lastly, in terms of our location - we state clearly in many places on our website, email confirmations and our emails directly with customers, that we are a UK-based business that sources products from all around the world to bring our customers the best products at the best prices. We in no way try to hide this and are transparent about it both publicly and when customers email us directly.

In any case, we respect your decision not to shop with us again and appreciate your feedback, and we wish you all the best.

Got my sword today

Got my sword today, could not be more happier with this product, exactly the same has the pictures and the description on there website.
It did take about 20 working days to get here but well worth the wait, did have one query wrote email and got a reply within no time at all.

Simply Brilliant!!!

If you’re looking for great customer service, I found this company flawless. I had a bispoke blade made up and changed my options and specification a number of times. Each time BladesPro worked with me to make sure they understood the tiniest detail. The end product was equally flawless and to say I’m pleased with it is a massive understatement. The communication has been excellent as is the product. I believe this is incredibly good value for money and cannot recommend the company highly enough. Order value circa £500.

Reasonably happy with my purchase. Chinese imports.

Reasonably happy with my purchase, but I think lacks transparency a bit.
I think they should make it more obvious from the get-go that these are just Chinese imports, and the site essentially just works as a frontman for Chinese blade manufacturers..

Pretty sweet deal for them bumping up the cost a ton, paying no import duty themselves and answering a few emails. How about stocking a few specialist maintenance items, or importing blades yourself? A bit more community focus.
Anyway this being said they were helpful in email correspondence and for those that are wondering about import duty, I paid £50 import, almost 1/3 of the cost I paid for the sword.

I'll probably spend £400 flying to Japan next time though.
That being said I am happy with it for a starter sword, though I'll probably replace quite a few of the parts. Solid blade though and saya though which is what you're paying for!

As for the other queries - thanks for raising them and we will keep them in mind to see how we can improve. We do mention that we ship products from around the globe in order to bring our customers the best products at the best prices, and, katanas hand-made in Japan tend to retail for 10,000GBP and upwards, which is a much higher price range than what most of our customers base is interested in. Sword forging has been taking place in China for thousands of years, and some of our suppliers are based there, but we have carefully vetted to only the highest-quality providers which receive great feedback.

We also aim to provide high-quality customer service and a smooth experience, as well as everything that comes with running a business -- we have a team who manages our online storefront, customer service, supplier management, writing, customer satisfaction, loyalty program, product sourcing and more. There is a lot involved in the business and we really care -- it is not a 'front' as you mentioned, though I'm sorry if it came across that way. We do work hard to provide our customers with the best experience and products possible.

In any case, very happy you liked the sword, blade and saya. We'll keep working on things on our side to improve, and take your feedback on board. Enjoy the sword!

Says free shipping so why do parcel…

Says free shipping so why do parcel force want £21.00 . After you spend a fortune. It all comes from china . Seriously angry right now i wont recommend to anyone. Bad buisness and you know that cause they don't have a phone to call them . So obviously the quality comes into question. There obviously a fraudulent company I think I should call the police

Unfortunately, customs charges aren’t determined by us - only by the customs office. As listed on our site, we ship from suppliers all around the world to bring our customers the best products at the best prices — we do our best to minimise them, we provide a clear guide prior to ordering, and do our best to make this clear on our site.

Customs information is on our shipping page, all product pages, our About Us page, FAQ page, two email confirmations, and the shipping confirmation. We also present the terms and conditions, as well as a direct link to customs information, during checkout to try and make it clear. Before making your purchase you ticked a box accepting customs charges and our terms and conditions.

Your sword is handmade, as per the specifications listed on our site. We don’t claim that your particular sword is Japanese made - most swords made in Japan can run £10,000 and above, which is a significantly higher price range than the swords we stock. Your sword is a hand forged samurai sword. All our swords are made by vetted, quality-checked suppliers with deep sword-forging experience (which lead to our reviews -- https://www.bladespro.co.uk/pages/reviews).

We do provide free shipping (you weren’t charged for shipping at any point), and whilst I can appreciate your frustration with the customs charges, that is out of our hands, and we do try to make this clear prior to ordering.

I have recently received my Karambit…

I have recently received my Karambit knife after my friend ordered me one and I am not at all happy about the level of service or length of delivery!

When my knife finally arrived, it had a long scratch all over one side and the grip looks like the plastic has been rubbed with a scourer brush.

Not happy at all.

Karambit

Bought a karambit knife through the site and with this item it takes longer than other items due to the nature of it (lock blade) and against UK law (not entirely but there are restrictions). So this knife comes from China and its value is significantly lower than what I paid.

This could be to avoid customs charges for me but it could also say that the knife isn't worth the cost you pay. Also the knife came with an odd review card, that asks you to not show any pictures of the lock or the logo.

I can't say what it's like to buy anything other than a knife, but it's just rubbed me the wrong way.

Just by way of clarification - we do mention clearly on our site that, whilst we are indeed a UK-based company, we ship products from various suppliers all over the world.  This is so that we can bring our customers the best products at the best prices.  Also, some products aren't available directly in the UK - such as many of our Karambits, which are unique and come from various suppliers around the globe.  We always try to be clear about this - it is on our FAQ and About Us pages. 

But I am sorry if it wasn't clear when you made your order - perhaps it's something we can work to improve further over time.

Ordered a knife of this site was a bit …

Ordered a knife of this site was a bit skeptical at first as all the reviews before were all positive and only came from people who had only reviewed one site (I understand mine will be the same) as well as the tracking number provided wouldn't seem give me any information other than "order not found" but it came in the post today is a good quality knife exactly as advertised.
