Nothing special: Got the €50 bonus, but extremely slow withdrawals
I'm giving Bitvavo 2 stars because the platform is nothing special to me and lacks any truly unique features.
I signed up through a friend's recommendation for a €50 bonus. That part worked, and the money was credited. However, it's really disappointing that this bonus is locked for 180 days – you basically can't do anything with it for months.
To qualify for the bonus, you had to trade €500. That condition is totally fine. But what really annoyed me was the withdrawal time: after requesting a payout in the app, it took 5 whole days for the money to actually arrive in my bank account. With many other crypto apps and exchanges, this is done in real-time nowadays.
Bottom line: The bonus is tempting, but the long lock-up period and sluggish bank transfers really ruin the experience for me.

I tried to verify my Bitvavo account…
I tried to verify my Bitvavo account three times.
The last attempt was supposedly reviewed manually, which is funny, because the result was exactly the same copy-paste response telling me to “just try again.” No explanation, no actual help, just a polite way of saying “go back to the AI and hope for the best.”
It’s painfully obvious they rely almost entirely on automated verification, and when it fails, support simply shrugs and sends you back into the same broken loop. Even the so-called “manual review” feels like someone clicked a button and called it a day.
If this is what they call customer support, it’s honestly embarrassing. Completely frustrating experience. If you value your time and sanity, you might want to think twice.

Although it is advertised as such, it is not possible to make a withdrawal to an external wallet. After countless verifications and identifications, the Bitcoin withdrawal is canceled on the grounds that you are the victim of a scam... My wallet, which I have been using for 10 years, allegedly belongs to a fraudster... Yeah, right. And if you look at the other reviews, this seems to be a systematic approach. Bitvavo seems to prefer to keep the coins for itself. I wonder why? The low fees certainly have their reason. I used to just leave my coins at an exchange, and then it went bankrupt because the coins were “lost.” I won't make that mistake again.
And now I see that the transfer of my money back to my bank account has also been canceled. Unbelievable.

I’m already waiting 38 hours for a…
I’m already waiting 38 hours for a bitcoin transaction between my software wallet and my Bitvavo account and it still didn’t go through. The blockchain confirmation was done within an hour and I’m still waiting for a Bitvavo’s internal process to confirm this transaction. Package delivery companies are quicker than this. I’ve always been a happy customer at Bitvavo but this is ridiculous and almost feels like it’s being purposely delayed.

Unfortunately, my experience with Bitvavo Support and Compliance has been very disappointing.
After completing all requested security and verification steps (including 2FA, document submission and a selfie), I was explicitly informed by the Bitvavo Compliance Team on January 26 that my account would be unlocked “the same evening or by the following morning”.
As of February 4, my account is still not functional and no further response or update has been provided, despite multiple follow-ups.
The issue itself was straightforward (a country setting correction confirmed by compliance), but the lack of communication and failure to meet a clearly stated timeline caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty regarding access to my own funds.
I hope Bitvavo improves its internal processes, especially when compliance confirms a resolution but does not follow through.
