I had a great experience with Bird & Blend's customer service. I had an issue with my Matcha Magic Whisk, and the team couldn't have been more helpful in resolving it. A special thank you to Izzy... See more

Staff that go the extra mile
Today I visited the Lincoln store before catching a train and was greeting by Graham who enticed me in with some delicious Matcha to sample. I was already a fan. We chatted about Matcha, mushroom coffees and moving house. Whilst we continued our chat I made a purchase of the limited edition Carrot Cake Matcha.
I would like to say what a delight and pleasure it was to meet Graham today, friendly and welcoming with a smile for all.

I'm a big fan of Bird & Blend teas
I'm a big fan of Bird & Blend teas. They offer some great caffeine free options (Welsh Cwtch is my favourite - it's now my everyday tea). Their customer service is incredible as well, from the hand written notes through to the little freebies they throw in and their reduced plastic packaging. I really appreciate brands that operate like this.

Great staff, bad tea.
First of all, I can't fault the staff in the Norwich store where I bought my teas - they were lovely and very helpful and patient without coming across as pushy, and really good at offering suggestions and blends similar to what we had picked out that they thought we might enjoy. However, for teas that smell so lovely, and that charge a premium price, I feel extremely disappointed. I bought three teas in 20g sample bags: Chocolate Digestives, Mocha Chai and Gingerbread Chai, each brewed according to their instructions (though I added more tea to water ratio after my first cup in the hopes of improving the strength).
Chocolate Digestives: This proved bland, as if someone had walked past me with a biscuit whilst I was walking along. Not completely as if I was sipping hot water, there was *something* with body there, but it was too subtle to pinpoint. I tried it black and with milk and honey and neither brought out the flavours. Overall, flavourless, but somewhat inoffensive.
Mocha Chai: Unpleasant. Smells gorgeous, a little sweet, a little bitter from the coffee, with that chai kick. What I ended up brewing was, unfortunately, a bitter, flavourless tea. Again, there was perhaps the implication of chai, but as if someone had walked past me with one whilst I sat sipping on hot water. I believe the whole coffee beans used to brew this brought out a bitterness that really did not do this drink any favours, and indeed it was the only flavour I could reliably taste in the cup.
Gingerbread Chai: Their best-seller, and an award winning blend, apparently. Granted, this did have *some* flavour, but again, it wasn't particularly pleasant. I can't say there was much of a gingerbread-y flavour at least. What there *was* was a burning aftertaste - the chai. This would have been nice, were there any actual body to the tea to pair with. Instead, it's like drinking hot water with a spicy aftertaste. Oat milk did not help to alleviate this problem.
Overall, I'm so confused by this brand of tea. If there was simply one, dodgy batch that had perhaps been left too long to lose its taste, I would have been fine. But for all three, expensive teas to be so utterly lacking in the flavour department tells me that something must be wrong with how this company makes its teas, and it's either unreliable with its quality or downright deceptive with its sales tactics by enticing consumers in with fantastic smelling product only for the end result to prove so lackluster. It seems to have a cult following, and there's many rave reviews, I'm not sure why I appear to be in the minority with issues, when multiple batches of tea had the exact same issue. Genuinely, I feel as if I'm missing something with how popular this tea is, and how flavourful some of the reviews say it is. That's the main reason I'm writing this review, as someone who rarely - if ever - does, because I'm just... confused why it tastes so bad.

First, but very much not our last, interaction...
My wife would list 'drinking tea' in her top three life experiences (literally!) Therefore, she's something of a connoisseur and has extraordinarily high standards for what she requires from tea/its accoutrements.
Whilst in Lincoln she was drawn to Bird and Blend, since she wasn't aware of them. She was reticent, however, to buy any new blends/items because she already has LOTS more than she needs.
The assistant, however, was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. A while later, we left the store with numerous blends and a few other bits and bobs.
My wife was SO delighted with the blends that she went online to buy more and try a few others.
Unfortunately, some of the new tea bags were split, so she let them know. Before we knew it they'd resolved the issue in the most generous fashion, thus guaranteeing a GREAT DEAL more custom from us.
There's literally NOTHING we can fault with this excellent company, so when they say they have a Happiness Guarantee, they really mean it.
We're already looking forward to our next trip to Lincoln to try some new products...

A wonderful experience with Ellen
It was our first experience in Bird & Blend and we will definitely be returning, Ellen was super helpful and we ended up buying some loose leaf teas that she recommended and they are absolutely delightful! She made us feel very welcome and made our first experience a wonderful joy! Thank you Ellen x

Great Customer Service!
A big thank you to Rosanna in the York store! I have wanted to visit Bird & Blend for ages, so when a meeting finished early on a trip away with work, I rushed to make it to the store before it closed.
I made it 10 minutes before closing time and was greeted by Rosanna, who was so helpful and friendly! Not once did I feel rushed at all! She let me smell all the different teas I was interested in and gave her personal recommendations on which ones to try.
Very impressed with my first visit to B&B - it certainly won’t be the last!

dystopian sales technique
Horrible product, terrible company and incessant, non stop, over and over and over and over and over and over and over adverts on social media.
Twinnings tea is far better and every supermarket brand tea is also better but without the incessant pushy dystopian sales technique.

Great tea but a frustrating company
The tea from Bird and Blend is great.
The company it's self is becoming more and more frustrating to deal with.
There's a tea called Candlelit Library that is great but they never have it in stock. They have just decided not to make it for some reason. This happens when a lot of their teas, they have it in for a limited time and never have it again. It's just annoying to find a nice tea I like then I can't buy more.
On the site if you ask to just search for "Tea bags" which I like to take to work they often show teas and when you click on them they only have loose leaf tea.
I wanted a tea and it wasn't in stock so I used the "notify me when back in stock" feature, a few weeks later I looked at the tea and it was in stock and I never received an email.
I constantly find myself being frustrated with the site when I'm just trying to buy tea I like.
So yeah great tea but just a really frustrating company to try and buy from.

What an amazing product and team from store staff to customer service.
Id like to start by saying i have very recently been introduced to bird and blend and WOW just WOW great TASTE great CUSTOMER service. So as each location has their own blend my wife and I set a goal to visit the Edinburgh and Glasgow stores. We know you can order each blend from the website but that defeats the purpose of traveling (to us). We are located in the SE our local is Canterbury. Unfortunately the Glasgow store had shut by the time we got through the traffic. (We will visit soon) the Edinburgh store how ever was spacious had its own vibes (all great) The staff were great and knowledgeable and so friendly. Where i had been driving a long while it was very handy they had a customer toilet. This was around the time that pancake day so they had lots of pancake samples to choose from which were all rather unique, but delicious in the way they had presented them, some were cold brews, some where warm with oat milk of course with little extra treats like vanilla or cinnamon syrup. We ending up buying a couple of new flavours and some regular ones we were low on. The flavours are absolutely amazing and the different health benifits i have had from the different teas are amazing to name a couple are The Digester which has helped massively, Dosy girl and deckchair dreaming have really made a difference. While we were up there we tried some different Matcha flavours i tried the blueberry muffin latta with lionsmane syrup and the wife had a butter mint one. When we got home after seeing friends and family up north my wife made up the brewdini with buttermint tea its was very bland not much flavour and the colour seemed off it was very different to the batch we had before (This is by no means a reflection on the store we purchased it from) we asked our local store to brew some up to see if we were just over thinking it. Nope they agreed. As the store had also run out of buttermint tea they advised reaching out to the customer service team, I don't normally do this id sooner just crack on with my day, I'm so glad I did, they replaced both of the teas I had issues with and sent me free samples they arrived within two days. To finish this long story on a high note THE TEA THE SHOPS THE ONLINE BUYING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM ARE ALL AMAZING THE BIRD AND BLEND TEAM AND PORDUCT ARE GREAT AND ID RECOMMEND THEM AND IT TO EVERYONE AND ANYONE, I'll be taking some teabags on holidays and sipping it in the sun too.
Pushy, pushy and pushy
Had the misfortune of stumbling onto a very pushy and inquisitive (read: nosy) sales assistant today, at the Liverpool store this afternoon. Question after question, it felt like an interrogatory and thought that it would never end. Would not recommend.
Amazing customer experience
Honestly one of the absolute best customer service experiences I have ever had! I received my first ever order and I unfortunately ( my mistake) didnt read the website correctly so thought I would receive my tea in the tins as shown on the website i was also missingtbe samples i was looking forward to , I contacted customer service in a pretty stroppy way....Andi responded and explained everything completely on the chat on the website and I actually called and apologised as it was totally my error! We had a lovely chat and talked about my blends, she also very kindly gave me a code to use which would give me double samples next time I was very happy,However today I received a gift box of Bird and Brews most popular tea blends, a large builders blend that Andi and I had talked about and some samples with a card wishing me better soon ( I'd been poorly) it was such a wonderful thoughtful and absolutely lovely suprise! Andi went above and beyond! What a fantastic company! Also I need to mention how absolutely delicious the tea blends are! I also want to mention I had had trouble sleeping due to being unwell and the ' Deckchair Dreaming' blend really helped me get to sleep! Overall cannot ask for more! I will be a regular customer 🥰
Go there!
Go there! The staff are very friendly and the shop is an amazing experience. Oh yes, the tea is great too! And there are deck chairs.

Exceptional customer service
Jack in the Norwich store was an absolute superstar. He was patient and kind, helping me understand how to make a tea latte and talking me through different tea options. I’ve shopped with Bird & Blend for years for your amazing flavours and customer support - Jack embodied that. It felt like he opened up a new world of tea for me.

Great experience at Lincoln store
Bee, Rob and Graham in the Lincoln store were all amazing. Friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable on all of their products. We spent over an hour with them and returned the following day for more tea. They and the company have a great ethos. I love my teapot and the recommended teas by Bee and Rob. We will definitely be back.
